My 2016 GU has the right side parking brake, and I made the mistake of going 100 yards on it once. To make sure I didn’t do it again, I got one of those coily, stretchy key lanyards, and when I use the brake, I secure the clip end to my throttle cable. I can’t put my hand on the throttle without noticing the lanyard anymore. When under way, it can easily be clipped to the right side, out of sight, and out of the way.

I have a 2015 model. With the exception of the p brake lever on the handle bar, is the adjustment procedure the same as the newer bikes?
I have 2016 GU and brake handle is on side - not handlebar.
