Mido has nothing to envy Tudor, I don't know why Swatch Group hasn't positioned and marketed this brand appropriately. Lots of history, lots of improvements.

And Mido used in-family movements since the 80's, the same movements that Tudor had to buy from ETA, but Mido finished them much better than Tudor. Tudor just now has it's own movement, not really in-house...
The Powermatic 80 has been a tank for me. Mido doesn’t get enough love for the quality they put out but I understand to a certain extent. Regardless, some classic, unique, retro styling.

These watches are fabulous and very underrated. I just picked up the Commander II (blue version) for under 1K Canadian... for a quality Chronometer like this, its a steal

+Christophorus84 Looks like the "lever" is stamped metal, it's just very white looking the it reflects the light, it does look just a little different from the normal ETA cal.2836 as it's more rounded in places, I've just not seen one like even out of China. It's a curious looking balance cock, seems to use the cheaper Standard and Elabor grade of KIF shock?
That part is plastic on that caliber, a lot of brands are using the plastic escapement pieces, I readed a lot about this, is not good improvement, metal is better, if you want more durability

Unless Iam missing something, it is possible to build fuelless and none battery operated vehicles that can run for years. Watch mechanics are pretty damn amazing, tiny engines.
Yeah but you would probably need a very powerful spring or a large one at that powered by a very heavy rotor to turn your wheel axels to a decent speed...also, imagine the type of transmission those cars would require to control the elastic potential energy released from the spring. I see what you are assuming here but watch mechanics simply are not feasible on cars. It's cool to imagine things but then lets all come to our senses and face the reality that not everything we imagine is possible, logical, or can be applied to certain manmade objects.
