- On this episode of The Fab Forums I work on the finishing touches for the handmade aluminum seats. With some .063 3003 aluminum, a bead roller, an english wheel, and a sheet metal break you can have some custom seats.... well sort of....

Welcome to The Fab Forums. My name is Kyle Voss and I am a automotive fabricator that produces Custom Automotive Fabrication content of all kinds. Including Carbon Fiber, TIG Welding, Metal Shaping, Hot Rods, Muscle Cars, Custom Choppers, and everything in between. I work hard to bring you new content on a weekly basis.
Here are some of the builds you can find on this channel.
I have built several Chevy trucks. The first was my 1964 C10 named Crown Spoyal and the most recent C10 truck project was the 1969 I recently sold to a friend named the Black Pearl.
I am also finishing up a custom twin turbo Ford Mustang build I call the Gray Goose. It’s a 400 cubic inch Windsor style engine with twin 70mm turbos. I am hoping to make around the 1000 horsepower mark to the tires on this particular build.
Last but not least is the one off custom hot rod build called the Bibbster. This is what I call a modern day hot rod. It’s made from an old Ford Mustang foxbody, but made to look like an old school open wheeled hot rod.
I also feature other fabricators and shops like Cutworm Specialties hand formed aluminum wide body kit for a BMW e46. Jeb Greenstone has also built a twin turbo, coyote powered model A style hot rod from scratch, and is currently building a Toyota TE72 wagon drift car powered by a 1UZ Lexus v8. Jeb’s custom fabrication skills are fun to watch and always make for good videos.
Check out my playlist to see some or all of these builds.

Man that seat is sick. You should cut the "headrest" open as an omage to the stock style halo's! :)
I think the choice for a fuel cell in the back is a better decision. The cowl tank is awesome, but the lack of amount of fuel to carry would get old having to continually stop to refill it. Have you thought about seatbelts yet? You have a potential harness bar around the support you mentioned, but haven't put any tiedown areas into the Bibbster yet. Are you thinking of just lap belts, a 4-point harness, etc.? Furick's shop would be interesting to see. I like the "how it's made" stuff.
Great outcome man
Lookin awesome man! Good stuff!
Nice. Do what you do man!
Definitely be interested in what you are doing with your trailer! Thanks for the videos.
That car is coming together beautifully. Expectations exceeded. A+
Long Live clecos >>>>> to me the 2nd is harder to match up when it has a lot of angles to measure to duplicate..awesome Fab work Young Man. ...:)
5 point belt slots can always be added later for a racer look
Awesome work love it
yeah....I really dont want to run 5 point harness'
Some people have custom Cars, and then there is this guy .... Nice work
Dope! Throw some dimple dies on the sides too between the roll cage and bottom.
Don't forget it's Valentine's Day to got something for the wive.....!
Nice speedholes! To make them functional, you need to push a few of those in the seat part too.
The seat part needs to ventilated, because of ass-sweat. It gets slippery, and uncomfortable.
I wanted to order some clecos but the company said they were out of stock. He said some youtube guy had em all. Haha. Its Friday Fool!
LOL, Wes!
I actually dont have that many compared to most
for me.. 2nd piece.. because i never remember to make templates... lol man it's looking so killer!!!
thanks
I think putting the fuel cell at rear of your vehicle is much safer and the front you can put the cooling system for your turbo
You do nice work Kyle 🤩 I really enjoy the videos .
Man you are a master fabricator. I would love to hang out and do some work with you. Keep up the amazing work and never lose your cool, you have great personality and godly skills.
Carlisle all Ford show in PA. Dude you gotta make it! lol
Do you have a link to these classes?

The Fab Forums thank you sir
Awesome video as always! Yea, you wish to get out and see more of us - man, Friday's thousands see you and it's almost like we're all right there with you. It'd be great to meet in person, but up here in Jersey you're just a bit further than my wife and I travel these days. For me, the second seat is harder just because I'd already have built one and I'm not cool building duplicates. I just want to move onto the next challenge as soon as possible. That's why I could never be one of those guys in a factory doing the same thing, every day, over and over. Okay Kyle, enjoy this Valentine's Day with your pretty girl, looking forward a next week!
Just found your channel. Absolutely wonderful! You have the patience and knoweledge to be a GREAT instructor for TH-cam content. You are easy to follow. Love your work and attention to detail. Subbed, hit the bell and liked...keep up the greatness son!
I would say the second one in this case cause its not an exact copy, its narrower right?
Man your craftsmanship is unbelievable. Nice ass work. Love the seats.
I would think that reproducing a free-formed one-off would be a greater challenge for me personally. You are a FREAKIN magician!!!
I am a bit disabled but I run a 4.9 litre kit car. (Theoretical) 198 mph top speed, 90 in second. I had my drivers seat moulded to fit me like an F1 seat. Perfect fit and comfort. I’m 70 odd away from it but 20 something in it. It keeps me alive and active.
Really? That trim cover has a serious kink in the bead rolling! Have I missed something?
You mean in front of the passenger, against the windshield? Looks like he cut the piece to follow the body line and the bead followed the cut. At 15:15 you can see it.
Yeah it follows the factory body lines
Yeah I reckon ya re do without that jiggle. Looks like you made a mistake lol. Awesome work, love it all
Unrelated to this video, but regarding your killfab website:
Under the "Killer Fabrication" page, the "tags" column extends very far down to include all of your page tags, but ends up leaving a lot of blank space in the middle due to the 5 story limit per page. I might suggest increasing the amount of stories per page to 6 or 7 to fill up this full area. This will help with scrolling down past a lot of blank space to get to the next page.
Depending on how well you can organize that space, you could probably fit the electronics and hydraulics in that front compartment.
Fabricate 2 custom sheet metal overnight cases, accented with copper, (tribute to Jessie James..lol), leather handles to go into the cowl. Boom! Get Some.
Number one what state are you located in your shop where is it at number two would you be interested in making an aluminum call foot tub basically I love cloth tubs but I want one out of aluminum because I love aluminum and two the weight issue it would actually probably be a piece of cake for somebody like you to make an aluminum coffee cup anyway let me know lucky O'Neill
Good stuff. Get out and come down to Jacksonville. I have a Jeep project that I would input on.
Just saw that you are on Amazon prime video! Wow! Not sure how long you have been on there but congrats man!
Hand's down to reproduce the second one would be a bight harder yet with the tool's it should not be so hard. Time will tell
%100 second piece is harder! unless you saved the templates and finished the first piece recently!
I like the idea f the top box for electronics and possibly the battery storage also. Keep things tidy and logical
Bitchin 🙌🙌🙌
Thanks man
I would not put fuel cell in dash.
Maybe use the dash to hide the turbo inner cooler?...
Could you weigh the seat and let us know. Building light sport aircraft. Every ounce counts. Great job.
For me making something the second time is always easier. Creating something that looks and functions right takes a lot of time.
Nice work! I think I might’ve made a mdf hammerform for the seat sides. But those are some badass seats
Hey what days are you planning on being at the ponies in the smokies it’s the 25th thru the 28th are you going to be there every day
You can use the frunk for seat donut cushions and lower back pillows.
Could make a press die with your KF logo and press it into the headrest.
Are you going to add any side and thigh support?
Already built into the chassis
Have the same space on either side of the seat between the cage also might hide the size difference
The raised panel section would be bad ass with hand tooled leather riveted on
Woodward dream cruise in august?
Is it just me or we he bead rolled the front piece, I had a kink in the line?
replica unless u cut both pieces for both side at the same time or keep templets
looking good. but seriously someone get this man some gloves lol
hello from Russia. What are the names of the things that you use instead of temporary rivets? Timecode 1:03 - 2:00 (created with Google translated, sorry)))))
They are called Clecos
Those are bad ass. I love them.
Look at swim deck padding
With diamonds or other shapes cut in it
It’s great padding self adhesive
It’s for boats
Good idea
The Bibbster is really starting to take shape now, Kyle. Beautiful work, brother! I'll be back later to watch this video on the big screen to see it in all its glory. Happy Valentine's Day to you and your wife... y'all have an awesome weekend!👊😎
Reproduce it... There's a market for making the second half of project cars. The motivation isn't there either as I wander into the land of procrastination in search of something new. An excellent question, or was it harph rhetorical?
Making a copy is easier when the piece is simple, but on a seat like this i'll bet it just won't be the case. Too many guidelines to follow on that original piece.
Lucky for me i just get to sit here and watch though :)
Good job changing the fuel location. Keeping the fuel lower and farther from the humans will build confidence and you'll want to drive it more on the roads.
Can somebody tell me please, what is the name of PINs? How can I order them?
FeL1sLeo cleco clips?
Kyle nice seat arrangement . Keep looking at the front end wheel set up with vibration problems might have to make a bridge across the top wheel to wheel . 😨 We will see 👍
By the way awesome work on the seat
The PIT training sounds awesome, look forward to vlogs on that and Furick.
Love you Man. Always look forward to your content. Thanks for the video.
The bibster is looking good can’t wait to see it in person at PITS
Incredible craftsmanship, incredible content!
thanks
Use that storage area for electrical fuses PC battery maybe pedal box etc clean up everything
Yeah it's always harder the second time around. Unless I have a template to work from. Nice work!
The answer is yulp!
Great job on the seats they are looking sweet.. Another great video 👍👍👍
Just like a beautiful woman with curves lol
thats pretty much how I feel about it
Nice handwork with the tubing¡ I was wondering how you were gonna do it.
How safe are these seats?
'great work, well explained.
very talented - too cool to watch this come together
Is it just me, it looks like the center tunnel is going to make it awkward for your arm and shifting.
nah it feels good as an arm rest
@@Thefabforums Cool, beats uncomfortable
Should of never said anything about the seats being different sizes see if people notice when the car is out
lol...you cant see it
Be kind of neat if you had a hidden compartment under the seat that the bottom seat area folded up
perfect box for electrics hide all air lines inside cage
Badass work as always keep up the great work, god bless
Awesome performance like always incredible work .
Hey Voss what were those snips you were using at 8:03
Still killin it!
Seat looks awesome! Really love the way it's all coming together
👍👍👍👍
be harder to recreate the second one.
Aloha, why don’t you have the valve covers on the motor?
Just a mock up motor
Shoots. Mahalo. Thanks for the content
One other question, what engine/trany are you running on the Bibster?
its a Ford 351w with a T5 trans
Love me some of that Sweetwater!
The first one is the hardest
Bro, I love your work. Truly amazing...
thanks
👍
Ive been watching this from the get go. Crazy insane build I cant wait to see her done!
