Hey Paolo Ive been seeing comments like yours over this past year more than ever and I couldn't agree more... So many of us are looking back on the 80s with so much heart felt memories.. I just can't believe how much has changed and I personally believe a lot of it has to do with technology.. Even though I'm typing this to you, someone I've never met in another part of the country I would give all of it up today if we could go back to the way it was before all this tech came into our lives... The 1980s was truly the last great decade and I believe the last great generation this country will ever see... Hope you enjoy the holidays with your family My Friend God Bless
Gotta love the last reporter walking around trolling everyone in the shop who is buying a Christmas gift late, lol. All in all, what a time to be alive (back then, not now)
Nice shot of the old Kay-Bee's toys at Walt Whitman Mall, which sadly never re-opened after the 1991 fire destroyed that section of the mall. I remember seeing all those toys hanging from the ceiling.
I do my Christmas shopping throughout the entire year. It's easier to manage financially and I don't have to put up with the last-minute scramble and walking away gifts that people don't even necessarily want because everything else is sold out.
My childhood I still never got a Nintendo till 1988 as a birthday gift never got one as a Xmas gift other then that the 80s will always be my favorite generation

That Bruce Springsteen vinyl collection would be over $52 today when adjusted for inflation. ...during a time when cassettes still reigned supreme, and CDs were becoming a thing, even if they were still considerably more expensive.
What a time in history growing up in the 70s and 80s was a dream
I miss so much the 80s. The best decade of my life and one that will never be forgotten

Chaotic? Everyone looks so calm and well dressed. I was in my 20's in the 80's and I can say unequivocally it was an amazing era.
I remember my mom feeling victorious after managing to buy the last Cabbage Patch Doll at Macy’s. It was 1983 and we lived in Brooklyn
Love stories like yours...stay 80's
Everything nowadays is cringe, cheap and corrupt.
People were much more pleasant...America was a Great Place!
Merry Christmas....🙏🎄🎄🎄

The good old days.
Magical time. No cell phones or face diapers.

As a historian, I appreciate these videos and stories like yours...
The first segment looked like the 70s? The rest was pure 80s.
Thank god for time travel. You get to relive it.

When it was all joy and a major event to look forward to. Now? I shall refrain!
Those were fun times now shopping is done by a few clicks and it's done.
Great video 🤘🤘🤙🤙🎄🎄
Nothing like waiting on the day Mary’s water broke to go shopping
Look.... not a stupid mask in sight.
Or cell phone recording your every move.
@@patriciawatkins9539 Um, cellphones aren’t supposed to do that, I think you’re being stalked
Here’s a logical thought.. Maybe because there wasn’t a global pandemic going on?
