      Hi Kaze! Big fan of the rom hacking community but I was wondering if you, or anyone who sees this I suppose, could explain why getting a hack to play on Original Hardware is better than digital or emulation.

    • @KazeN64
      @KazeN64 3 ปีที่แล้ว +37

      @@BradsGonnaPlay it's more impressive since you've stuck to the original limitations and can fairly compare to the old N64 games. plus, it working on hardware means it should work on any functional emulator.

    Imagine how much $$$ Nintendo would actually make if they supported modding natively and things like this released for years after the game is released... It would keep said titles relevant for years after their release and boost sales for so much longer afterwards because you might not want the original game or like the original game and then you see a mod/ hack release and you're like "I gotta try this shit."

    This is actually super impressive, even for Kaze! His technical capabilities have always been incredible, but the level design of his hacks has usually been pretty lackluster in my opinion. It's usually been the case that he can implement some incredible functionality but isn't the greatest at implementing those ideas into a fun level. Here, though, everything seems so polished and clean that I almost had to remind myself this wasn't an official product at times! Even with taking rather generic level themes like Forest, Water and Cave, he went above and beyond with really creative ideas to make these levels stand out in a way that's unique without coming off as too gimmicky. That's not to mention all of the amazing Quality of Life additions to the game! I'm really excited for the full release going forward!
