I thought it was the sea islander, and look that one up. Margaritaville at Sea Islander is a Spirit-class cruise ship previously owned by Carnival Corporation & plc. She was built in 2000 by the Kvaerner Masa-Yards Helsinki New Shipyard in Helsinki, Finland as Costa Atlantica for Costa Cruises. Costa Atlantica was sold to CSSC Carnival Cruise Shipping in 2019. After four years she was sold to Margaritaville at Sea, re-entering service in June 2024.
When I worked on ships back in the late 90’s we would port there weekly. Wow has it changed, so built up. Comparing some of my old photos would be interesting to see difference. If I come across them I’ll send you some. Miss those days, such a fun experience.
My brother, sister-in-law, niece, nephew, and I swam with pigs when we were in Nassau with the Celebrity Silhouette in December of last year. Contrary to what you might think, pigs do not (or at least not where we were) run free. The company we booked with, Exuma Escapes, took us by boat to a beach club with food, drinks, and lounge chairs all-included. At some point maybe an hour or so after we arrived, an announcement was made for everyone to line up on the beach and the pigs were released to run free for about 20 minutes before being rounded up into their pen or wherever they are kept on the island. Before the pigs came out, skewers and cups with cut up apples and turkey sausage were distributed so we could feed the pigs and, while the pigs were out, we could pet and hold them. Also, before we got to the beach club, our boat anchored in a spot where we could snorkel. Overall, it was a really fun experience that I highly recommend.
Hi guys! So, I went to the Bahamas when I was in my 20's way back in the beginning of 90' and stayed at the British Colonial that you just walked by. It was so much less developed back then. If you ever go back towards that beach you went to, as I remember it there was an even more remote beachy area that had caves you could crawl in. Small but interesting nonetheless. If you have more time, could you keep walking to see if they've kept it or built on it. FYI, that container port that was just past those jet skis wasn't there back then. It's all man made. Margaritaville at sea islander is a former Costa /Carnival Vista ship. It cruises out of Tampa (goes to Cozumel/ key west). Paradise is their first refurbished ship but I've heard a lot of negative about Paradise. Islander is nice. I was on islander a month prior to sailing Utopia.

my best days ever on that island were going paddling with a kayak guide, his name is Wolf. Getting a taxi driver to go all the way across the island and returning to fetch me is the trickiest part!
I was at Nassau in September and went to that second beach you mentioned. Agree it is way better than the first, but with a young kid and parents in their 60's it wasn't worth getting there for what it was. Maybe if we got all the way to the third it would have been a bit better, but that much walking is rough, especially when what you are walking past is people yelling to rent beach chairs, smokers, and are right next to a fairly busy road. Also the fact Atlantis resort takes up so much of the view from the port and beaches it is a bit of an eye sore. Nassau has potential, but current state I see no reason to ever go back.

I love both the cruise ship videos (particularly the behind the curtain content) and the port calls seen through the eyes of a crew member that has seen some/most/maybe all of these things a few times. Not helpful, I realize, so if I have to pick one....I go with the "behind the curtain": cruise ship stuff....
Love your videos and Instagram. Coming in March with our 6 and this is what we plan to do. Don't want yo grt stuck off island if yhe excursion is no good. What restaurants or food spots are a must try their?
Enjoy a mix of ship life and ports. The Nassau, I remember from my first cruises no longer exists. It use to be just a nice little town, with restaurants for locals and tourists, the straw market was an open air market (until it burnt down). You use to walk directly off the ship, and be on the main street (no terminal zone junk). If you wanted they had horse drawn carriages you could take a town tour in. Of course back then ships were much smaller, so there was near as many people. To be honest, it's videos like this, that are truly helpful, because I know before I book, this port no longer interest me.

The Margaritaville Islander was the Costa Atlantica. Costa is part of Carnival. I haven’t been on either line, I am close to being Diamond Plus with Royal Caribbean which is why I follow you.
Not sure why people think this is a bad port … people fly from all over the word to Nassau for Atlantis and baha mar resorts . It’s the capital of the Bahamas 🇧🇸 it has something for everyone

Never had a problem there.... Jamaica on the other hand can test you for sure if you aren't prepared. I think people hate the walk.
