Although this is my favorite track from this masterpiece's soundtrack, I think having no music in this scene fits the tone Nolan was going for much better.
This was the best scene ever... the tumbler was great but the batpod with this track... Priceless... This Deserves a Like wholehearted like. Hats off to the guy who made this..
This scene was great without music, absolutely - sometimes no music is even better. However, this is still my favourite track on the score, and I would've loved to see it used (and maybe extended a bit).
I remember somebody on TH-cam uploaded a fan edit of this scene with Like a Dog Chasing Cars as its score with footage from the film and new scenes that they computer animated to fill the length of the track. It was quite an extensive piece of work created by a fan. I can't seem to find it anymore, but it was something to remember. Anyone else see it? And as a side note, I can not believe this entire track wasn't used in The Dark Knight or The Dark Knight Rises. Really, I can't believe it. I know the first half of the track is used during a SWAT scene, but the epic portion of it, the part with all the meat isn't. I wonder why Nolan never thought to use it. It's such a mesmerizing track.
VoyagerOne I know this is an old comment, but I used to think the same thing as well. But now I realize that maybe it was a good idea to keep it out. Just before this, Bruce was about to give up on Batman and Gotham by turning himself in, but he was still conflicted even after the press conference when Harvey turned himself in. That shows that, sure, Bruce knew he could not give up and realized his commitment, but that whole plot point shows that he is and always will be a flawed hero. To put in this valiant music in the next action scene would throw away all that character development to shine Batman in a heroic light even though on the inside he is still flawed.
As taken from IMDb trivia: "Like a Dog Chasing Cars is the Batman theme, and it is heard only twice in this movie, as composers Hans Zimmer and James Newton Howard decided that a heroic theme that a viewer could hum would overlook the complexity and darkness of the character. Hearing the tune only twice would create what Zimmer calls 'a musical foreshadowing'." I think it's heard when the people on the ferries hand in their votes, and the 'epic' portion starts with Batman jumping off that building while Gordon's men are ready to take their targets, although it's way too short than it's in the original track.
Batman, Gordon and Dent all working together, the golden trio. I think that, in Gotham in general, if Dent didn't become Two Face, I think they could have cleaned the streets up.
Bravo, love you man for making this clip, something I always thought of doing blending the Zimmer masterpiece with Nolan’s as how it should’ve been in the movie
This moment is by far one the greatest in the entire film ....😱😱😱 Especially with this heartbreaking music ....It's my favourite of the soundtrack....It's like it's written for Joker.....Heath Ledger is clearly the best Joker anyway .....👏👏👏And the movie in general is just spectacular...🤩🤩🤩I think that when it comes to batman it has never came out anything better ....👌💯👍👌💯👍👌💯👍
From what I've understood, it's not that it was "cut," Zimmer and Newton would write music inspired by a cut they saw of the film. So, it's entirely possible these songs were never meant to be used verbatim to the scenes. But I did enjoy this edit. Well done!
the track is the best one in the cd, i thought i missed it in the movie but it actually never happened... i always tried to match it into the scene... but you know hans zimmer, he often combines the music to make the tracks better standalone tracks to listen to... so not possible to match well
Imagine the fire was used in the film, but it wasn´t like the ost version, it was cut and mixed with other tracks. Watch since the scene where Talia triggers the detonator until the Bat appears for the final chase. its played in that part of the movie. And when Bane fight Batman again its also played a little but its also mixed with "the fire rises" and the music from the plane scene
Plus the heroic music is sort of already going before Batman shows up. Still a great scene but would have loved it to have this music with it, even if it was a bonus scene or something lesser
First of all, if this edit is anything how it would have actually been, the score would have made it hard to hear what the characters are saying. Also, by removing the music, it adds more tension to the sequence, and I think that sort of tone fits better for a second act action set piece. I would bet that that's what Nolan was going for.
Very nicely done sir!! Always wondered how this scene would've been with this amazing score! I would start the main transition of the music, when the bat pod is introduced though. More dramatic affect. Great job anyway!
*Like A Dog Chasing Cars* is in my opinion the top 1 best soundtrack from TDK (2008), *Watchful Guardian* is from my top 2 & *Why So Serious?* is my top 3. Also this video is great & by the way I also made a *DARK KNIGHT CAR CHASE SCENE* video on my channel. The music I used: *Deja Vu*
Such an epic song. Also are you sure it was supposed to be for this scene? And if so can you please find me a link of where Hans Zimmer or Nolan have said so. Awesome work btw
Rj Macready thank you :) completely sure yes, I can't remember where I read that but it was said that Nolan cut it from the movie because he found it too heroic, and wanted a more brutal feeling of the scene That explains the total lack of music in its final cut.
The lead-up music fit well with the beginning of the scene, but the really "epic" part did not seem to fit in as well, I associate that type of music more with something like an airplane dogfight, or a superman flying scene, but not batman chasing the joker definitely.
Unpopular Opinion: I Think that if Nolan would used this music for this scene, in my opinion, this would be more epic. Just if you edit some more the scenes, add more volume to the voices...Perfect! Yeah, I Think That This Scene it's still good without music, but it's better for me with the music.
Can you make similar video with "Imagine the Fire" which wasn't used in TDKR? It supposed to be somewhere when the second fight between Bane and Batman started.
why do they always do this put a title on a scene that doesn't match. the one I was looking for was Joker in the Hospital with two-face and he goes: "I'm a dog chasing cars. I wouldn't know what to do with one if i caught it."
Joker's craziness
+
Batman's honour

Zimmer's score

@@kencarson3451it’s all about Gordon! He’s the forgotten hero here.
Every single thing in this movie are perfect and amazing it’s masterpiece
I would regret my entire life for not watching this masterpiece in theaters although I have watched it on TV for 10 times...
I feel you....
I saw it 4 times on theaters XD
Unfortunately I didn't get to see it in theaters. That's why I've made myself a home theater so I don't feel so bad missing stuff on the big screen.
get a 120'' TV, it spares you from many regrets😂
@@Ngchan2000 how much would it cost him 😅?
@@thedarkknight7548 the 120'' set? it'll cost him an idea that he wants to buy all the films and watch them on it...😂😂
Love this soundtrack so much its worthy of being on my songlist any day any time
damn, that looks so bad ass riding that bike with a cape on. No other comic book character can beat that level of: Badass
Sean V lol
Yes, it was supposed to play during this sequence, but Nolan decided to cut it at the last minute. Really epic yeah.
He shouldn’t have cos this is amazing
so much better with the soundtrack
Awesome edit with Zimmer! This is amazing!
Greatest superhero movie of all time.
you're a genius dude great editing
I just don't think there will ever be an amazing, inspiring, Batman like Bale's. Thanks to Nolan for that perfection. The best Batman ever.
Agree
Still stands right
epic.... masterpiece.... phenomenal... joker+batman+zimmer+nolan hell of a movie...
Although this is my favorite track from this masterpiece's soundtrack, I think having no music in this scene fits the tone Nolan was going for much better.
I agree
There is a version without it
on my blu-ray, I have no music with this scene. Very sad after seeing that here.
coyoteproject999 this video is edited with music
Honestly can't pick between the 2, the one without the theme fits with the tone of the scene but the theme is just so good you'd want it in the scene
This was the best scene ever... the tumbler was great but the batpod with this track... Priceless... This Deserves a Like wholehearted like. Hats off to the guy who made this..
It's so cool to see that the high intensity measures in the song matches high intensity scenes in the clip. Thanks for uploading!
I missed this moment….
This scene was great without music, absolutely - sometimes no music is even better. However, this is still my favourite track on the score, and I would've loved to see it used (and maybe extended a bit).
2:10 what a score mahnn🔥😮💨
Hans Zimmer the legend
Forgot how good this is. Gonna have to watch it for the 12,345th time soon.

I love this scene with this melody.
Batman, Gordon and Dent all working together, the golden trio. I think that, in Gotham in general, if Dent didn't become Two Face, I think they could have cleaned the streets up.
Luke Jolly they were halfway there..
They did in a way, that's why Batman took the fall for Harvey's crimes so he would remain a symbol of good but again it was all a lie
Favorite score from any movie
my favorite best movie No.1
Can't believe they cut it out. Nice work, NeodeosX!
Bravo, love you man for making this clip, something I always thought of doing blending the Zimmer masterpiece with Nolan’s as how it should’ve been in the movie
Now there's a soundtrack!
1:43 - 2:00 Epic!
Nice touch!
Hear this OST and ride a bike, you will feel like Batman
I hear it when I run
Thanks ! Glad you enjoyed =)
nice work Neodeosx :) thoroughly enjoyed the epicness! especially at the initiation of the batpod!
I think it's in the sequence where Batman saves the clown hostages(doctors), combined with 'Introduce a little anarchy'
A small part of it, yes :)
+NeodeosX Nice edit btw..
+Vineet Madkey Thanks! Glad you enjoyed ^_^
I've tried to watch this six times this past coupe weeks and keep falling asleep throught this scene.
Amazing track!

It's also written for batman ... Bale
Also the music didn’t play in the movie
This track with this scene was epic. Batman riding was cool!
놀란 감독은 이 추격씬에 배경음악이 어울리지 안는다고 생각해서 이후 편집판에서 음악을 빼버렸지만, 처음 극장에서 이 장면을 봤을 때 한스 짐머의 음악에 전율했습니다.

The importance of background music
Harvey Den its 2 face . One of important person like Joker and Mr Penguin.
Best face-off ever
ZIMMER is the world class musician 👏
Warner Bros really should release an extra on the digital release of the movie where this scene is set to music in 4K with Dolby audio.
Yes I agree with you 100%
Thx Hans Zimmer

Everybody expect to listen this score when Batman started to chase.
But actually you can't...
Remember!
It's me can't.
Why cut this epic music from the sequence ? Don't understand that.
Would've been too heroising.
Because with no music it's more tense and immersive. Amen.
Plus the heroic music is sort of already going before Batman shows up. Still a great scene but would have loved it to have this music with it, even if it was a bonus scene or something lesser

3:35 best moment
El mejor tema de toda mi puta vida ❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️
THIS SCENE IS FUCKING AWESOME!!
Hans Zimmer gave it his all again
*Like A Dog Chasing Cars* is in my opinion the top 1 best soundtrack from TDK (2008), *Watchful Guardian* is from my top 2 & *Why So Serious?* is my top 3. Also this video is great & by the way I also made a *DARK KNIGHT CAR CHASE SCENE* video on my channel.

i love joker HEATH LEDGER so much
2:31 you can see when Joker get on focus.
Two way tie for best super hero movie ever MoS = TDK..❤
Bale is the best batman and this is best superhero movie ever created
After seeing this again, I'm convinced the Joker was X military that went crazy
Video was flagged but is now available again ;)
I don't know... I love this song, but one thing I loved about this scene is the lack of music. It makes it so much more tense.
I agree ^^
wow!
"It's all...part of the plan...."
Also there was way too much background noise from the vehicles and people, which drowned out the epic effect of the music.
I think Nolan was right with this. It feels a lot better without music. Even though it is still epic.
Prople watch the movie, we listen to the score.
the best batman version ever. Justice league DC goodbye.
Wow it is actually so much better without music
you. Yes you. You just disliked this video. Let me ask you. WHY THE FUCK???????
Such an epic song. Also are you sure it was supposed to be for this scene? And if so can you please find me a link of where Hans Zimmer or Nolan have said so. Awesome work btw
Rj Macready thank you :) completely sure yes, I can't remember where I read that but it was said that Nolan cut it from the movie because he found it too heroic, and wanted a more brutal feeling of the scene
That explains the total lack of music in its final cut.
1:55 is way your here
Nice .. try to make "imagine the fire" in dark knight rises
I will try, if I get enough free time to make it =)
"Goodbye!" *BAM*
so who is the dog in this scene?
3:35
Yesss
The lead-up music fit well with the beginning of the scene, but the really "epic" part did not seem to fit in as well, I associate that type of music more with something like an airplane dogfight, or a superman flying scene, but not batman chasing the joker definitely.
Unpopular Opinion:

I've tried this myself but it just doesn't fit. I guess Nolan must have tweaked the editing after rejecting the score.
Hans Zimmer
There was an epic scene after this video ends. When he topples that truck using his bike 🥵🥵🥵
Can you make similar video with "Imagine the Fire" which wasn't used in TDKR? It supposed to be somewhere when the second fight between Bane and Batman started.
3:36 oh my god....
why do they always do this put a title on a scene that doesn't match.
the one I was looking for was Joker in the Hospital with two-face and he goes:
"I'm a dog chasing cars. I wouldn't know what to do with one if i caught it."
Why was the music taken out of the scene?
Nolan wanted to accentuate the brutality and tension of this scene, and therefore chose to leave it with ambient sounds only.
Osm scene jokes is best
🎵🎵👍🏿👍🏿
Somehow the music doesnt fit to the tempo of this scene, the music itself is amazing but it just doesnt work here.
it should more be for batpod but not tumbler... fits more to the title
fino, senhores
Batman begin's tumbler chase soundtrack would have fot much better.
