As a middle school math teacher I hate the job comment...having tattoos doesn't make me better or worse at my job.

I cried and cried thinking, “are people going to treat me differently?” “Will I get discriminated against?” But I realized, f it. In todays world, (4 years after your comment) LOTS of people have tats.
I want to be an airline pilot in the future, and a little forearm tattoo won’t hurt those chances.

I get tattoos on my legs because I really dislike them. I've accepted them, but I don't like them. Decorating them with images I like makes me feel better about myself..

I literally don’t understand why people don’t like/ are against people getting tattoos. It’s art that someone has decided to put on their body. Not wanting to have one themselves is understandable but generally being against them just confuses me
It's is permanent change to your body which has been created perfectly in God's image. There is a lack of self worth there which plays out in self harm. If you accept and love yourself as you are there is no desire to change your appearance or intoxicate your system with poisons. No sane person who appreciates there body and the gift of life this body gives would try to change or harm it in anyway. These people are lost souls trying to find happiness outside of themselves. Your biological detail is perfectly beautiful... not being you is ugly.

You can appreciate your body and have full body confidence and still want tattoos and get tattoos. people are still being themselves by getting tattoos in fact they’re just another way of showing what a person is like.

One of the biggest devices I've seen between prehospitsl and in hospital care is the kinda free acceptance thing, EMS, we love rats and piercings, hell most of us have at least one sleeve or have an idea what we want for one, but in a hospital you cant even have a tattooed wedding band like wtf

She does have a lot of sense with that, if you're going to get tattoos when you're younger, i would recommend only getting them where they can easily be covered up. If you don't, it could really hurt your chances of getting a job, especially with face tattoos. Also, you should use inkbox.com, they sell temporary tattoos that last about 2 weeks lol

I've got my arm fully tattooed, leg, foot, back. My fiancé got even more. We live in Sweden, when you go out here in the summer the only comments you get are from older people saying "I wish I had the balls to tattoo myself"
Most people nowdays are tattooed so it's not that big of a deal anymore. But I do notice how spoiled we are over here, sad to see there are places where people STILL don't accept others for how they look.

I've met a cool lady who was a social worker, she had a chest piece and sleeves and think she had tattoos on her back and legs as well. I actually felt more relaxed in her presence, than I would with someone who didn't have those. Luckily, tattoos have become so common that most jobs no longer require that you don't have any visible tattoos or piercings. Also a really good thing that our banker or lawyer or doctor can have things like this to remove the stigma that a person with many tattoos must be a "bad guy" or dodgy and one to avoid. It's just as much of an expression as your choice of clothes and hairstyle. And after all, your body is YOUR body. Not everyone else's. :)

That's really cool! :D I'm glad there are people like you out there that helps remove the stigma. I don't have any tattoos myself, yet. But I'd love to get a sleeve some day, and I've had it planned for years. I just need to find the right artist, since I want mine to look like pencil drawings, acrylic paint stains and watercolours (I'm a portrait painter and I tend to use my arm as a palette, which often ends up making my arm look like an artwork, lol). Unfortunately, there's not a lot of people here in Denmark that does this type of style. At least not in my city.

Liz Liz As you said; if you started over you wouldn’t have gotten all the tattoos and piercings you chose to cover your body with all those years ago, so that clearly shows you feel you made wrong decisions - as we all do - in your younger years. Also, I agree that no one has the right to touch you without your consent. I wasn’t defending that.

But if you advertise your “personality” for all to see then don’t be surprised or offended if people ask questions. Thing is if I wanted to have it done your way I would have. When deciding on my tattoo you'd best believe I examined every possibility, including yours.
What anti-tattoo people need to look at is my action and intent in life, not my look. My tattoos symbolize love and strength, my life exudes love and strength. I've been a humanitarian my entire life and will continue to be one. And if I get judged outside of that - by my looks, no less - then the world needs to refocus.

My left forearm is blacked out, and it only took 3 sessions. They were spread out mainly because of the swelling and healing process, not the pain of the tattoo itself. People will say "anyone can do solid black," but I can say from experience that this is not true. I've seen some mangled skin from large blackwork, done by respectable artists, and some really uneven healed results. As always, don't take tattoo advice from someone who isn't heavily tattooed.

tbh i think another thing thats annoying about having tats is that people assume its silly to them then its not worth it... tats dont need to have a deep meaning and can sometimes just be there to look nice! but ive got 30 tats and even if they arent all symbolizing something in their imagery its still like a skin diary of the times in my life when i got them.. like i have a stupid doodle of a worm on my knee i did while i was high and it doesnt mean anything but it reminds me of a fun time and positive parts of dark eras in my life!
I currently have one tattoo that I designed myself and have another one planned as well, which I also designed. My current one is a blue rose on my arm, and for me it means something. I got a blue rose specifically because it's my mum's favourite flower and colour, I got this permanent reminder of her on my arm because I know I won't have her as long as most people do due to a condition. My planned tattoo is to do with a mental struggle that I overcame, sure, I plan on having many more tattoos but these two will be my most meaningful ones, and that's why I have them.

I am going into Biochemistry, I am already on my second semester of college and I'm 17. I have 3 tattoos, one on my forearm, one across my upper back, and another on my side. I drew two of mine myself and got them tattooed on me, so sure, I'm deviant as fuck even though I'm accomplished.

I like art too, in fact it's what I'm studying and been doing as a job. I just don't like art done over other art. Tattooed people think of the human body like a blank canvas, I think the human body itself is the greatest piece of art. Not everyone has similar taste.
