      Another example of the tech industry settling on the dumbest terminology - when every other industry already has appropriate terminology for this stuff(...I mean, 'skeletonized'? The aforementioned 'perforated'? How about just 'lightened'?). So damn annoying.

    I've bought 3 Model O wireless mice from them. They ALL had the scroll wheel click become too sensitive. Scroll down, registers a click. Unusable, got rid of them and went with an Aerox 3. I gave the 'little guy' a chance and got burned.

    • @Squishydew
      @Squishydew ปีที่แล้ว

      I really feel like these scroll wheel issues are plaguing the entire mice market.. I've now had this happen with everything from Sharkoon but also brands like Logitech and Razer, and I usually pay €100+ for my mice. None of them last through the first year, usually that means you have warranty but It's so incredibly aggravating.
      Especially when the Sharkoon mice i got for €15 lasted longer than the Razer and Logitech ones and now can no longer be bought.. Maybe Steelseries will do better but i doubt it, googling the Aerox 3 shows the exact same issue that all these other mice have.

    Would love to see short circuit (or LTT/the lab) take a look at some of the popular "enthusiast" mice from companies like Pulsar or Lamzu. The space has come a long way from the days of finalmouse, and is growing very quickly. Many small companies sell products that rival expensive mainstream mice at much lower prices. This is great for consumers of course, but reminiscent of mechanical keyboards a few short years ago, very few people know about them outside of certain communities.

    I used to be such a big Glorious fanboy. I own lots of their products, including the original day 1 Model O with the old-style cable. But the last several products I've purchased from them have been hugely disappointing due to out of the box QC issues. Even after having them replaced, the replacements had the exact same issues after being assured they wouldn't. The drop in quality combined with their ridiculously high shipping prices has steered me away from them completely these days.

  • @TechnicalGamingChannel
    @TechnicalGamingChannel ปีที่แล้ว +62

    The dropouts are being caused by wireless interference from your 2.4ghz WiFi network
    I had the same issue with my Glorious mice when I had one of my google wifi routers setup on my desk. Moving it further away from the desk fixed the dropouts. But also, that just shouldn't happen and glorious really need to fix it.

      USB 3 ports also interfere with 2.4 ghz. Plug the wireless dongles into 2.0 ports whenever you can. If you have a laptop with only USB 3 then it'll be a dice roll on if it works or not.

      @@-_--_-1253 Imagine making a high-end wireless mouse in 2023, and it doesn't work perfectly with USB 3 ports lmao. I would instantly return it if I had anywhere near close to these issues, considering the price.
      That said hopefully they can fix the problems, but I since the first model O also had these issues, and huge quality assurance issues with the mouse clicks being squeeky as well as the scroll wheel issues that several people have mentioned, I have no faith and will not buy their products anymore

    One thing to note. This mouse isn't really ambidextrious, as stated, since its not really going to be used by a left-handed user, due to lack of side buttons for a left handed user.

    • @hofkingpin3216
      @hofkingpin3216 ปีที่แล้ว +17

      doesn't mean it's not ambidextrous, it's still an ambidextrous shaped mouse and if left handed users don't use this it still does not change that fact

    • @your_average_cultured_dude
      @your_average_cultured_dude ปีที่แล้ว +6

      it's still ambidextrous. and left handed people can still use the side buttons with the ring or pinky finger, it's not really uncomfortable

    • @perplexed2352
      @perplexed2352 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Ive used the previous version, the model O with essentially the same button layout as a lefty and its as ambidextrous as 95% of other mice out there, you get used to the awkwardness and slight discomfort of side buttons with time just with any other mouse, in terms of good truly ambidextrous fps mice there is very few options and almost none in the super lightweight category, its just kind of a given that being left-handed and looking for mice you always compromise on something, even with the few dedicated left handed mice there is rarely the perfect mouse for you (although it has gotten a lot better in the past 5 years)

    My model D came with optional extra glide pads that made it feel so much better. Plus it's wired so no connection issues. Using it just over 2 years now and no issues so far, my previous 4 Razer mice all had some form of click issues in that time and this was like 1/3rd of the price so I can't complain at all.
    Plus their warranty seems really good, unlike Razer who's CS was awful to me.
    Real shame that a $100 mouse has those sorts of issues, I would've expected a lot better from them.

    used the model d for about nearly 3 years. the shape and lightness was nice coming from a og g502. but i quickly realized the holes were going to be a problem with my sweaty hands. sweat gunk gets caught in the holes and is pretty difficult and time consuming to clean out. eventually got the grip tape for it. grip tape was nice. covered the holes and provided some nice grip. but since the material is sort of elastic, it eventually collapses and indents into the mouse holes. so sweat gunk eventually gets caught there and is even harder to clean because of the material itself and theres no scraping those indents.
    started looking into some mice and saw that the model d pro was out on the group buy. on paper was what i wanted. wireless, same exact shape and function, and no holes. but the color ways sucked and it being a group buy was not the greatest. held off on it and kept looking around. thought about the gpro superlight. tried my friends since he had one. realize i hate the shape, especially the way the back is a big hump that digs into my palm. eventually stumbled across the deathadder v3 pro. only looked into it a little and decided that was the one. used 150 worth of prepaid cards from a work bonus and got it only paying 15 bucks out of pocket. pretty much established its my endgame mouse. had little to no learning curve as it is nearly identical in shape to the model d but feels much more solid in every way. the body, the mouse buttons, everything. especially the side buttons. model d has a good bit of pretravel and a bit of post and overall feels likes its squishy. dav3 has no pretravel and feels like it just stops nice and solidly after pressing. pretty much no complaints so far. been using it nearly 4 months. oh and optical switches so bahbye debounce. for the record i dont like the deathadder v2. the one touted as one of the most popular gaming mice.

    - Augmentation for left hand on non-ambi mouse designs
    That's it. The ability to cover the honeycomb with a diffused material so it is smooth on the hand would be nice if the contour is fixed, so digging in, the mouse doesn't leave bumps in one's hand. I would _really_ love an ergo MOBA-style mouse with a keypad on the side which could just be the same kind of clicky buttons chicklet keyboards use, and I would be a happy camper.

    I don’t personally have a glorious mouse but like 4 people in my class have and every single one of them has something broken on the mouse, for 3 people it’s the scroll wheel and for one it’s the left mb, which half of the time won’t register clicks and when it does then it’s mostly double clicks. It’s crazy to me that those people actually use their mice like that, i would be so annoyed by a broken mouse.

    Debounce is not "time between double clicks", it's the time between actuating the switch and the click being registered by the mouse. The reason you need a tiny bit of debounce is that when you press down the switch, the metal contacts inside the switch may bounce a bit and make a couple separate contacts before they come to a rest and are connected to each other. If there is zero debounce then the mouse would register a click on every bounce of the metal contacts within the switch, meaning you could get multiple clicks registered on a single mouse button press.
    Debounce is one of the main reason why different mice have different latencies. I think Razer has some mice with optical switches which do not need any debounce since the switch is completely different, and due to that the mouse has very low latency compared to others.

    • @Kepe
      @Kepe ปีที่แล้ว

      When I talked about latency above, I meant click latency of the main mouse buttons. Not mouse movement latency or stuff like that.

    Owner of 2 model O - wireless because lower profile of 1.4 inch height is necessary due to wrist injury. I love them both but they have little QC issues, but are still my mains over everything else. One has a wonky main click, will not really go down on one particular corner, but that took me a while to notice and the other has something loose on the inside of it if you shake it really well? Otherwise it works perfect, the rattle does not occur during any kind of gaming, no matter how intense my mouse swipes are. BTW, big thanks to Glorious for making a mouse for me. :) Their customer service was also really good whenever I had an issue.
    Good people of YT: Are there any other similar ambi small mice with 1.4-1.45 inch heights (35-37mm preferably shorter tho)? Seems literally everything is 1.5'' (even the viper mini and that expensive version of it?) and that .1 inches makes a huge difference for me in terms of comfort and aim. I'm willing to try anything, even chinese clones. I'm more curious and not super looking to replace something that is basically perfect for me.

    I just don't like holes in my mice. And, I prefer a heavier mouse over a lite one when using it. RGB or not, no big deal or deal breaker for me. If it comes with it, sure, ok, I'll use it. I originally purchased the SteelSeries Rival 5 mouse, and it is a TAD lite for my tastes.
    I eventually have gone with the Alienware AW959 RGB mouse. This mouse is more to my liking. With its weight system from 5 to 20 grams, I loaded up the weights and make it as heavy as I can. Feels very good in my hand! Combined with my AW768 mechanical keyboard and Area 51 Triad computer, it all goes so well together, and not just from an aesthetics standpoint. I find my typing has improved over the SteelSeries Apex 7, which I didn't think would happen.....and my "mousing" is back to what I like!
