This is one of my favourites because it`s one of the rare episodes of Steptoe where the father and son are on friendly terms and work together as partners, rather than the usual hate and low tolerance relationship.between them.
They'll be through that house like a plague of locusts...they'll sweep it clean, down to the floorboards. You'll never realise anybody ever lived there".
Situation comedy at its best. Galton and Simpson were brilliant comedy writers. 2 great lead actors in Corbett and Bramble as Harold and Albert Steptoe.
Oh, man this is hillarious! I watched the portuguese version of this series with Camilo de Oliveira and Nuno Melo, and although they were both phenomenal in their parts, the original actors are incredible as well. Great series. :)
all those rumours about these two having their differences...I think if it was true, they were professionals and I would like to think they knew it ..And respected each other for their being so professional and for a job they had to do.
Well you say that but I was there and you would have only earned about 20 quid a week so work it out for yourself if petrol back then was such a bargin----
One of the most perfect half hour of television ever.
Just brilliant these 2 and the best comedy on at that time .
Pure class, funny from start to finish, great writing, sharp acting.

I came to this because I recently read that Sanford and Son was based on it.
Is there a practical incentive for them to stick to the horsedrawn wagon?
