Post Notes:
- No hate towards any of these sellers, goal here is to find a listing that gives you as much detail as possible of you are actually getting
- Take note of the screen, if it looks yellowed and you are unsure then ask for closeups if its still yellowed, I would stay away or be ready to swap the screen if it isnt good enough.
Fair Prices For a Fixer / Good Condition
1000: $25-$30 / $50-$55
2000: $30-$35 / $50-$70
3000: $35-$45 / $60-$80
in canada they tend to go from $70-$200 depending on the model and if its a X000 or a X001
I somehow got back into the nostalgia. It still eats me that I sold my red 3000 and then the vita too. No matter what, the steam decks and such will never replace these. Binging videos while waiting for the shipping of 2 PSPs. Love your collection!
Trust me I know how that feels when I sold my beloved silver led moded 2000 as a broke kid on ebay...
Never left my side
Insane how cheap PSPs can be now. Got myself a one for $16 and another for $30. Both were sold as “for parts” but a quick charging port swap and CFW install later, perfectly functional. Don’t need UMD drives in 2024 ;)
Felt lucky to find a PSP 2000 from Japan that was essentially untouched, came in a value pack that had a memory card, carrying case, wrist strap, and an RF connector for TV displays. Bronze color, had no battery but finding a replacement was easy enough (thanks to your vid) and went for $200 before shipping.
very informative video, thank you!
Dude love your vids they're really cool, also I'm excited about the UMD video 13:00 you got in the works gonna be a cool vid for sure.
I got a psp for a fixer and it’s alright I got it for 22 pounds and it basically doesn’t read the micro sd to psp card but that doesn’t mind honestly hits different at night ngl
Memory reader might need some cleaning and scraping to get it back to working shape : )
@@TotalKommando bro I was 🥴 when I wrote this comment my bad lol I was gonna say I bought one and the sd to psp doesn’t work but in any other one it does, however when I put a original one in it works so this is honestly just confusing to me. I’m gonna buy a new one so thanks for this guide! 🫵 da man!
Yea its prob the pins on the reader on the psp mobo, might need to be pressed down to be tightened a bit so they make full contact
@@TotalKommando thanks a ton!
I plan on buy myself a 3000 for my 17th birthday on the 26th of this month! This video helps a lot and I'll definitely use this as a guide when buying it
Happy Birthday 🍰
@@TotalKommando tyvm :D
One step closer to the ultimate psp
I would like to see you do video about psp go and street battery since it's hard find them and in good condition.
I really like your PSP mod stuff even thoght I prefer to keep them stock as possible
I try to add function not remove with most of my mods, but year I need to save up a bit more before I do a dedicated Street/Go battery video
no wonder they are expensive now adays thank you!
really great video thanks man i want to buy a psp i didn't have any but am in China and i don't know what to do but this video really helped thanks
Glad it was helpful, if you are there then you might have faster options, watch my AliExpress PSP Video:

Greetings from Brazil 🇧🇷🇧🇷🇧🇷
thanks for the info. I have a mint condition piano black 3000 and im worried the about dreaded paint flaking. In the video you mentions the paint will flake off if you don't take care of it. do have any tips for keeping the paint in good condition? I love your videos and all you do for the psp community.
I have only noticed it on certain models, like the red on black and blue mix ones. Never seen it on the piano black, I don't think you got much to worry about, it probably only happens from extreme flex or heavy impact. Thanks : )
@@TotalKommando Thanks man, you are wealth of knowledge.
@@TotalKommandoPiano Black is affected also. My friend has one, and the paint flaked off really badly...
@@barnahalo6916 I stand corrected, do you know if they use theirs without a case, do they lay it directly ontop of hard surfaces?
Do they use a crystal shell?
Sorry I wasn't aware of how prominent this actually was on the 3000 models.
One thing you could possibly do that might work if yours is currently in good condition, is to teardown the shell into just plastic, and hit it with car clear coat to seal everything in, only lay the psp down on a soft surface, and use a soft pouch for storage
hi recently i saw your video about the batteries and i have one question, where can i find the cover for fat battery used in the slim model? thanks!
Hey those are called extended battery covers, here is a link: www.aliexpress.com/item/2251832585530519.html
thank u very much 🙏
hey kommando ive been wondering once you finish your psp series whats next on the horizon? (the gba line maybe? those have a similiar level of modding)
It will be the Vita, which shouldn't as long as the PSP, then I'll start exploring other consoles. I have a 3/2/DS collection I can tap into, but as fun as the GBA is, its niche is already super saturated, but its not off the table if an opportunity presents it self : )
@@TotalKommando oo the ds line would be fun but I'm not sure what the 3ds has in the way of hard mods? (other than the mugen batteries but those are pretty rare and theres no repos for them)
Who knows, perhaps audio or led mods, bluetooth, type-c
If there is nothing worth while and fun i prob wont do it
@@TotalKommando theres repo shells for the 3ds lines and custom ones for the ds maybe check those out? ( a buyers guide? I mean they're somewhat cheap but idk if you'd wanna burn more money after the battery testing)
@@midosyt lmao, we shall see once the time comes
Do you sell any?
nope
Do you have a PSP store?
Nope, I know it looks like it but Im just a guy who loves psps lol
@@TotalKommando or can you provide me with all the trusted links to stores that you personally buy from?
@@davidtharp2125 I have a list Im currently building on my discord server, might move it to a spreadsheet to continue building it once i have more time
What game was the one you played when testing the UMD?
Motorstorm Arctic Edge
@@TotalKommando Thanks
