    Love this video, boss. Love the valve locator story, I've been there at least 30 times or more, always remained calm, and never been denied. I've been doing this since 1999. Gave you a like follow and a comment. Great video, everything is on point. Keep it up.

    I grew up in the trade with my father who subcontracts doing installs on new houses. Much has changed since then. Ive also been liscensed in the state of Texas. Ive never met anyone with more knowledge and or experience. I have pulled permits and designed systems with pro contractor. Right now i work for a company doing commercial repairs. All that to say, everyone has thier way of doing things but many times there is a RIGHT way to do a repair or install. Most of it has to do with overall efficiency.

    With my 3 years of field experience + some landscaping. I've learned a good irrigation tech does a great job, their way. Not another irrigation tech's way. Irrigation sprinkler system workers are hard to find in my area. Iv only met 1 tech younger than me, and most double my age. Every single irrigation tech does things their own way. In MO we only need a license to test/work on backflow's. Don't need any licensing for the rest.
    Starting my own Irrigation LLC very soon because im tired of working with companies that don't know how irrigation works and hire guys to do the job and we tell them what needs to be done in what way but they don't listen.

    i have lots of knowledge, now i want to start my own company now but im not sure where to start or how, first of all i need to get my license, i live in the state of illinois, can you help by giving some tips?

      My brother!!! I operate out of florida so qualifications might be different. But How its usually performed is that you would have to head down to your local building department. I belive up there you will need your plumping license. You would need to show 3 to 5 years of experience and have a contractor in that field verify at least 3 years of it. But if you can't get them to sign, you can show tax returns showing proof that you worked for a sprinkler company. Then you will need to pass a state exam business and law is one part & and then the actual trade plumbing exam. Make sure you pass with a 75% or higher

      @@progreengroundservices4038 dang you have to work for someone 😭. I understand to get different scenarios & troubleshoots. I hope it is not a requirement in Texas. Like you said "knowledge" may know the basics but if something is bigger and standing alone on the field, i better come with a solution.
      Back in the days it wasn't an issue placing sprinkler systems until so many home owners were installing sprinklers improperly. A random contractor makes easy money just by saying to themselves "i 🤔 think here is the problem". People paying tons of money not paying unlicensed contractors.
      Now it is more controlled, to the point i don't see Julios or Pedros anymore 😂. I mean there are a few that remained but they are knowledgeable just unable to pull permits.

    Do you need a license for repairs in Fl, if so how do you get it without working for someone else?

    • @progreengroundservices4038
      @progreengroundservices4038  ปีที่แล้ว

      Step 1 go down to your local county building department and request a application for irrigation state test
      Step 2 pass the irrigation state exam with 75 or higher
      Step 3 show proof that you have been working under a irrigation contractor, or working for a company that has a irrigation contractor for more than four years!
      You can use old w2s or tax transcript that equil at least 4years or get a letter from a general contractor, validating your experience for at least four years or more and get it notarized
      Step 4 turn all the information in and pay all the fees accordingly, and they will give you a license to do irrigation and you could be your own boss

    ive been doing irrigation a total of 10 plus years. i live in fla and need to find out how to take this test. did you purchase books on line?

      You’re better off going to your local municipality downtown. And go to your contractor and licensing division and they have books that they recommend to buy with the books are for purchase.

    • @progreengroundservices4038
      @progreengroundservices4038  6 หลายเดือนก่อน +1

      You also have the option of becoming a license local irrigation contractor or a state local irrigation contractor. What’s the difference? The local irrigation contractor gives you the same permit pulling abilities as the state license but you’re restricted in your local county and if you want to get registered in another county, you will have to get registeredand apply for reciprocity in the county and you have two separate licenses and you’ll be local in that county. Or you can go for the state and you can pretty much go anywhere you want within the state pulling permits.
