This video is wonderful. My sons having the same surgery that your son did. Thanks for the honesty. I rather know whatever I can and prepare myself. You seem to understand how being a worried mom can be. So scary sometimes. Happy he is doing well. Wish the same for you.
My toddler just had his surgery today, he’s 1 1/2 year old and you described exactly how it went today. He reacted the same way you explained when he woke up from anesthesia. Thank you for your honest video on how things really are!!
Thank you for taking the time to film this. My 2 year old son is going for the same this Friday and you have put me at ease and know what to expect now. Xx
This was so helpful! My son will be 2 in May and is having his adenoids out tomorrow. Our story is almost identical to yours- his tubes fell out in October and he's had 4-5 ear infections since. I'm a worried mama but know he's in good hands!
Thank you for doing this video❤️. I’m taking my three year old son in the morning for the same procedure and am extremely nervous. I truly appreciate your feedback. Hope you & your family are doing well.
This video has honestly comforting. My son is supposed to get his ear tubs done next month they will also check to see if they need to take his adenoids out. We went to the ENT yesterday and my anxiety level in been on level 100. My son is 15 months and so far he’s had 3-4 ear infection and I’ve always complained about him sounding congested whiles he’s sleeping recently he had a cold that lasted a month and and after it went away he still sounds congested for about 2-3 months and still is. I wanted to know what happened to the other ear tub i was reading there’s a risks of it falling inwards and needing another surgery to be taken out. Why didn’t they have to take your child’s adenoids out? I stress out TOO much and think of the worst which is really bad but idk! I kept complaining and complaining about theses two things and I didn’t know surgery was going to be the outcome. I feel like I pushed it too much.
We might need to do tubes and adenoids next too due to constant fluid in the ears (no infections). She’s already had tubes once. Follow-up ENT appt today. I’m doing all I can (heated salt sock, ear massages) to clear it up and avoid surgery. We will see today if those worked.
How is your kids hearing right now? I heard some kids end up with a scar or hole on their eardrum? I did a research and it's not recommended to do anastasia for kids under 3. Every kid is different though
I am going through this right now, my almost 2 year old is getting it done in a month. He has had a difficult two years of life with constant fluid build up and incredibly difficult breathing as well as pneumonia and rsv. I am a blubbering mess every time I think about it. Waylon will definitely scream when they do the IV and when he isn’t able to be with us anymore. He is a very anti-people person and takes a long time to warm up to people. I know it is necessary but it is so hard knowing your child will be in pain and slightly traumatized from the experience. 😭😞
Kristy Luedtke I’m so sorry you are going through this! As a mom, it’s the hardest thing seeing our babies in pain! My son still gets anxiety at every doctor visit which is tough. He is doing so much better now! I will be thinking about you and your son!! Touch base with any questions!
This sounds so much like my 1 year old. He was hospitalized due to RSV and constant sinus infections. The pediatrician was very concerned too. We just had his adenoids/ ear tube surgery 2 days ago. I was concerned about him getting the IV but everything went smoother than expected. They gave my little one a liquid that the nurse and anesthesiologist called "Happy Juice". I was told it would make him feel like he was in a twilight/daze. The happy juice concoction made him more relaxed and giggly. Every thng went really well. He does have some stuffiness and bad breath. I was told this is normal. I am just happy that he is on his way to better health. As a mom it's so hard to see your little one sick and suffering. Good luck with your little ones procedure!
Katherine Nicholson hey girl! I’m so sorry and hope everything goes well! No, we did not meet our deductible. We had my son’s surgeries in separate calendar years.
My 2 year old gets her adenoids removed in 2 days and i can’t eat. I can’t think of anything else i been crying all day my doctor gave me anxiety meds to take but it’s not taking the worry away.
B Lynn I’m so sorry momma! It’s definitely tough but know your child will feel so much better afterwards. That’s what I had to continue to tell myself. I’ll be thinking about you and please touch base with any questions! The hardest part is when they wheel them back at the beginning.
Emiley Diane omg yes! I was fine the entire time until they wheeled her back and she said “mommy come on” reaching for my hand then she started crying when she realized i wasn’t coming. I was a wreck until i saw her. Now the day after she’s just super congested, runny nose, and slobbing a lot..
Shemika Harriott good luck momma!! I know it’s hard! No, he didn’t eat great after his surgery. I had him on soup and soft foods for most of the day and tried to get him to eat as much as possible, since he was on pain medication.

Had you met your deductible on your insurance? My son is 9 and going to have his tonsils and adenoids removed
