      What u bullshit. Just buy a full option f30 first model m package everything. Just looks like everything on your car is after market. Even small navi. Yes then you not have all feautures. All bmw f30 have standard parking sensor at the back only not at the front that is a extra option. Meybe because your have after market bumpers

    Just bought a 2011 BMW 328i coupe. I was expecting less rather than more. Meaning it had way more than what I thought. iDrive with navigation, Bluetooth audio, LED lights etc. It only has 45k miles ,great interior to exterior just right under 10k It’s beautiful and I’m glad I got all the stuff that I wasn’t expecting.

    I feel so blessed my f30 is fully loaded, I have the larger I drive screen, back up cam, sensors, m perf big brake kit, style 361 wheels, The guy who specced it out originally paid 70k! For an f30! Insane lol. I have the sportline. Wish it was m sport but it’s better than luxury or modern line imo.

    You can easily check if the car has an alarm or not by locking the car with a window rolled down. Just try to unlock it from the inside and the alarm should go off. Many cars even have a motion sensor in the roof, so you might only have to reach in with your hand to set off the alarm.

    A lot of people make these mistakes, but it’s usually only people buying there 1st BMW. I have a 15’ 335i 6speed M sport that i paid 34K for. Now i know some gon say i over paid but here’s why i was comfortable paying that price :
    1. I have Every single available option with nothing missing.
    2. I specifically wanted Alpine white exterior with the Coral red interior attached to a Manual transmission & there were only two for sale with that trim within 100 miles from me. I Got one.
    3. Had under 50K miles so i was still under factory warranty + BMW Cpo warranty after that.
    4. I knew this was the Last Manual 335i/ 335i in general that BMW was gonna produce. Last of a Dying breed.
    5. This was my replacement vehicle after my 16’ WRX got totaled so 10K of that Didn’t kome from my pocket 😎
    P.s. I saw You in person at Keis auto show last month. That shit was Epic

    Your first point about Options, I completely agree with. My first BMW was a 2005 ZHP 330ci, which of course had almost all options (except Nav, heated seats and back up sensors) so I assumed that "loaded" was Standard. When I picked up my E90 335i LCI, it wasn't until a couple of days later that I realized that "loaded was NOT Standard. The "Base" radio SUCKED (six speakers, no amp), no alarm, no backup camera or sensors. Luckily it DID have the Premium and Sport Packages so I had nice heated sport seats, Bluetooth calls, iDrive and Nav. But I was pretty upset when I realized all the stuff that I thought SHOULD come in a $60K car were not there. So when I picked up my F30, I knew exactly what to look for. The only options I don't have are the Surround Cameras (which was not a deal breaker). My advice: make a list of stuff you need to have (Sport Pkg, Harmon Kardon, etc...), stuff you do NOT want (tan leather, red paint, etc...) and stuff you want but is NOT a deal breaker. Just my two cents...

    Got my 2016 Bmw 328i Xdrive M Sport with only 21,000km (13,000mi) for under $30,000 Cad back in November, and coming from a 2010 Subaru impreza wrx hatchback that resulted in a blown engine. Needless to say, I got into a car that's exactly my style, and slowly been adding to the mod list on it, and its resulted in a new found hobby.

    Cool video that will help a lot of people out. Also I’d like to add that nearly all car manufactures do midlife facelifts on every generation of a specific car model. BMW just happens to use the term “LCI” for theirs. Nissan does it, Honda does it, Mercedes does etc. Midlife facelifts happen on the last few model years of a specific car before the car is fully redesigned to the new body style or “next generation” and typically include some interior/exterior changes such as slight head/tail light changes, slight front and back bumper changes, added standard features and sometimes engine upgrades etc.

    the m sport is not only esthetic it has stiffer suspension more supportive seats and a better steering wheel you also get the not often but variable ratio steering wheel the whole experience is different because i've driven all of theme base model sport line and m sport package , and actually there is very small difference between the sport line and the m sport .

    Pretty good list...I’d recommend waiting for an M Sport as opposed to upgrading with aftermarket. At the end of the day the cost will be about the same ($1k for kit + $1k for paint = $2k+) if not cheaper to just get an actual M Sport, they aren’t priced $10k more used, they’re roughly the same.
    Also CP+DP+IC+ Bm3 Tune is at least $1500, probably closer to $2k and that’s all VRSF stuff

    so for someone who has never owned a BMW before but is definitely interested in getting into the brand it would be a good reliable weekend car/traveling car right? I am starting over with everything, and am now divorced. LoL! I have a 2019 Versa right now which is helping me rebuild my credit, but I am saving every penny I can to put a nice down payment on a 2016 or 17 320. I definitely want the signature BMW halo headlights, bigger wheels, backup camera, sunroof, and I have seen the ones that have the M package and the front seat and steering wheel just looks so much better. I know it is frowned upon, but I think Carmax is going to have to be my go to place for a low mileage 320 that has the options I want and the ones I have seen are relatively low mileage. I just worry about cost of ownership even though my Versa will be my daily and the BMW will just be used when I get my son and when I take road trips for work or go visit friends.

    • @ConnorLee
      @ConnorLee  4 ปีที่แล้ว

      Anthony Miley man apologies to hear about the tough times but I hope good things are ahead of you! I have actually not needed to spend much on maintenance, especially because I do most of the work myself. I’d say with things like oil changes and regular maintenance, I probably spend around 500 a year just keeping things running smoothly! Not too bad in my opinion. Just remember to stay ahead of the game and try to keep things running before they break entirely. Much cheaper to maintain then replace!

    Very thoroughly explained! Wish I would have seen this video prior to buying my F30 in Feburary 2018. I had thought the same as you with buying a BMW.I thought every BMW had the xenon or hid headlamps and an alarm system in them. Nope not mine! Msport is hottt too!!! Didn't know about BMW msport either. It would've been nice, but oh well. Just gotta make do for now I guess.
    It's also like when my wife bought her 2016 Jeep Renagade brand new. We had thought every Jeep came with 4x4. Nope not her's and the salesman didn't even mention it either. A lesson learned in both cases.

    I got a really good deal on mine through Carvana. Msrp was about $54k and picked it up for $14,900 with about 60000 miles. I was surprised at all the options it had on it. Brake light went on the other day so I guess I’m looking at replacing the pads. Hopefully it’s able to be done dyi instead of going to bmw 🤦🏼‍♂️

    • @ConnorLee
      @ConnorLee  5 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      I did my F30 pads and rotors myself, not hard at all if you have a solid socket set! With parts and a days work, cost me about $240 and I now heave slotted and drilled rotors which imo look way better! Hit up R1 concept if you want to go the diy route!

    • @sik_f30jeremy57
      @sik_f30jeremy57 5 ปีที่แล้ว

      Awesome! Yeah I’ve worked on lots of cars myself. I assumed BMW were like Audi and other luxury cars where you have to measure rotor thickness etc and reset the computer. Once I change them they will clear the code then? Thanks for the resource I’ll check them out today.

    • @ConnorLee
      @ConnorLee  5 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      @@sik_f30jeremy57 R1 will set you up with the correct rotors and pads as far as sizing goes. in the bmws, they use a wear sensor which you will want to replace when you do the brakes and you can reset the brake light within the computer afterwards. You will need one wear sensor for the front and one for the back. I believe both sensors or on the front and rear drivers side calipers

      If your'e in the bmw ballpark, I would try to find a 328i (non m sport...unless you find a deal on an m sport). If you want more power, try to find a certified pre owned 135i. Same engine as the 335 but its a coupe! I think 335 might be above your price range which is why I recommend the 1 series. Hope that helps!

    • @joesmith9216
      @joesmith9216 2 หลายเดือนก่อน

      alarms are not standard on bmw's, nothing is standard on bmw's, esp the older ones, you had to option them out, for example, the first 3 years of the X3, if you did not get the options on those it was near garbage, esp getting a real leather interior! a 2004 x3 bare bones is like a honda accord with a good engine and if you got the 2.5 engine it was lame, my 2005 x3 was a mix, had some nice options and lacked a few of the good ones, my 2007 has all the options save sat nav screen/idrive which was horrible so glad I don't have it, premium sound( not really sure premium sound was any better as I drove one with it) and the sport appearance package running boards and 18' inch wheels, do wish I had that appearance pack though, oh well getting 20 inch wheels and tires soon.

    The 320 I bought is practically the same as yours in terms of lack of features. Having owned a E39 540i, I consider this a blessing of sorts because it was always the little gizmos and gadgets that ended up breaking and going bad and costing a lot to repair. Fortunately, mine did have a combo box in the trunk, so with BimmerCode I was able to in enable Bluetooth audio. Everything else I’ve added has been a fun project to enhance this car. I even like that I have the manual front seats so those don’t end up breaking eventually.
