Yes! When you don't know what to do, just be brave enough to show up and let them know that you care. It's okay to say "I don't know what to say". DO SOMETHING. ANYTHING. JUST DON'T AVOID. That is a true sign of love.
I have lost my son Nathaniel , aged 30 about two months go, the pain of the loss is deeep and unbearable , its all over me. I listened intently to what u had to say , loved it , gave me hope to deal with my loss. yes we are not prepared for grief , cause its uncomfortable subject.
We come to this earthly plane to share our experiences and to feel. Grief is also a gift. It allows you to measure the purity and deepness of connection. Beautiful.
I lost my 18 year old son in a car wreck 2 days before his 19th birthday. We postponed his funeral to the day after it, but still had the viewing on the day he should have been 19. Death doesn’t care what day it is. And grief changes faces from moment to moment. One moment you can keep it at arms length not letting the reality of the situation reach your heart, other times it overwhelms you so that you can’t stop the tears, while still others you can’t breath deep or stay far from the bathroom because your stomach is a mess from the high cortisol levels you’re experiencing. I’m so tired of this pain. I just want my beautiful son back.
I lost my fifteen years old daughter suddenly in misc due to doctors wrong treatment nine months ago.. perfectly healthy earlier... she was innocent hardworking child loved by all her friends always helpful prepared for board exams champion in sports all efforts wasted dreams shattered 😭 It's unbearable...l want her back 🙏.how to find her where she is born
I am so truly sorry for your loss. I just lost my husband shortly after we were married. There's just nothing like the pain of losing the one you love the most. I wish I could give you a huge hug. My thoughts are with you.
I grieve for all those mourning the loss of a loved one. I know how it feels, I lost my precious husband from sudden death on 2/16/23. Grief is an agonizing journey. Some never completely make it.😢😢😢😢
Thank you! So important to give people a relatively simple thing they can do when someone they care about is grieving. You're right, it's far too common for people to avoid grievers because they just don't know what to say or do - but they can just show up!
Thank you, Tamsen! You're so right. We need to talk about these things BEFORE so people have tangible things to hold onto. People are compassionate. We are just not taught that Just Showing Up is a gift and that everyone is qualified to love, care and support!!!
So true! We do all feel inadequate to respond to the grief experiences of others, whether they are loved ones, neighbours or friends, but the three magic words, "Just Show Up" are a perfect way to start! Thank-you for this beautiful and helpful message!
Very good talk. Yes, it must be super hard working with the dying. I also believe we're eternal souls, and never considered death sad- until my gran passed away 2 years ago. I was shocked at how.. physical the grief was.
big YESSSS to that-- evrything that the speaker were saying is almost like great anecdotes that u dnt hear frm anyone else such is yer relatives n yer siblings that yer estranged with.
Merci Ivonne-------I'd say that you're a "natural" on the stage, but I know how hard you've worked to seem so natural-----that voice------that wonderful voice-- --

A great gift for realness, blessings on this work!
All who die are not old, sometimes death is sudden. Both statements are so true.

Thank you Jenny. Feel free to connect anytime!
Really hard to think of the death of your beloved as a gift. It’s a phylosophical approach that does not help in moments of raw pain.
mmm well shared 🥰
She did a very good job. Well worth listening to. Thank you. F

It is hard to Just Show Up for others, but when we do it means everything!

Yes, having been through loss, what you really need is those around you to just put a little bit of kindness and love into your day. Great talk.
