I purchased the Summit Racing Frame Brace Kits (SUM-770810) and they came with it. I’m pretty sure I’ve seen them available separate from the frame brace.
Would never put side motor mounts in . My 55 hdtp has a 396 4 spd for 40 years . Uses stock mounts . Never broke any , changed them in 2003 when the motor was rebuilt again .never broke a mount !
Are you talking about the two mounts that bolt to the front of the engine? Getting ready to install a 350 in my 55. Seeing all these videos of installing these side mounts but didnt think you had to do that. I think the mounts in the back were for the original 3 speed trans. Do you still use them or did you have to install a different transmission mount? Thanks for any info you can provide.
@dbwaggoner the two studs in the front go in the rear holes for a s.all block , the front holes for a six cylinder or a big block . Just use the stock mounts for the bellhousing. No Trans crossmember. It works fine . If you install a turbo or newer automatic Trans then I recommend putting the side mounts and crossmember kit .good luck
@@bad66chevelles i have power disc brakes on the car ! With a dual master cylinder ! All gm impala parts . Before there were kits we went to junk yards and found parts that fit .
Hey Rick, Great video - which mount set is that? Transdapt? and which part # - mounting up a 383 stroker in my '57 Bel Air. Thanks! J
Nice video. Thanks for sharing. Have you mocked up the engine yet on those side mounts? Curious on how they lined up for you
Enjoyed yer vid . I’m gonna have to do full floor panel , but ya don’t have a 56 chevy 2 dr wagon fall in yer lap very often😂
I'm doing patch panels in the floor and some repair on the rocker panels
Hey is that power steering shock on center link? How does that work is it normal manual gear box still?
What color is that , I want to paint my 56 2Dr wagon that exact paint scheme
This is the factory paint. It's India Ivory on the top and Larkspur Blue for the body.
Do you think those brackets would work whit a 58 oldsmobile ?
I think they would work. I would think that Chevy and Olds would have the same frame set up.
Where did you get those side mounts?

GM replaced them early on for a reason...
