Glad to see you love us New Yorkers. Come back anytime! I willll say....my half dozen drop boxes I'm sending to the no-retail options towns for next year are sitting in my upstairs hallway, all packed up, labelled and everything, and after watching this clip I just placed an order with Packit and I'll be adding some of the pulled pork options ( and the Packit stuff to my boxes ) if I can find it at the local WalMart. I usually avoid WM because the locaal WM is a little cringe-y plus I have a new REI and an Eastern Mountain Sports I'd rather patronize but ..yeah, thanks, Bat!
Hi Bad Bat 👋 It's Sir Stops Alot. Thank you so much for including me in you top 5, I'm truly honored! Providing trail magic especially a good meal was very rewarding, and it really made me feel good when I saw you all hitting trail on a full stomach after laughing, joking and having a good time at the cafe. Thanks for letting me share in your adventures. I can't wait to see what's next. Safe Trails Stops
My faves on the AT: ~ Single-serving Spam ~ Great Value Pork packets ~ Beef jerky (Slim Jims if desperate, but prefer higher quality jerky) ~ Knorr sides ~ Tuna packets ~ PackIt Gourmet ~ Peak Refuel meals ~ Mountain House meals ~ Top Ramen bombs ~ Taco seasoning ~ Instant potatoes (Idahoan, &c.) ~ Kraft mac 'n cheese ~ Olive oil (in leak-proof bottle) ~ Oatmeal ~ Snickers ~ Gatorade ~ Swiss Miss Hot Chocolate ~ McCormick Perfect Pinch seasoning ~ Coke (regular Coke in the red can, *not* Diet or Zero) ~ Sprite ~ Starbucks Via, Kuju, or Death Wish instant coffee ~ Reese's Pieces (love all Reese's too, but these won't melt!) ~ GORP (heavy on the peanuts, cashews, almonds, and chocolate chips) ~ Walnuts ~ Apples ~ Bananas ~ Peanut butter crackers ~ Granola bars ~ CLIF bars ~ Potato chips ~ Lindt dark chocolate ~ Mott's apple sauce ~ Peanut M&M's ~ Tortillas ~ Cheez-Its ~ Dunkin' iced coffee ~ Taco Bell burritos (because you can eat them while walking) ~ Oreos ~ Raisins ~ Fritos (but only the plain kind, not artificially flavored...better because only three main ingredients) ~ Shelter pizza delivery ~ Planter's Jumbo Block Peanut Bars ~ Pringles (plain) ~ Mexican restaurant takeout (quesadillas pack out well 'cos they don't fall apart) ~ Deli meatball sandwiches ~ Hoagies/Subs (when deli-blazing from PA to NY stretch)
Good to see a new video with your infectious enthusiasm. Pretty cool to see a couple of your faves are my faves, too. I'm not much of a lover of Walmart but I do love that Great Value pulled pork. It's really good with some mac and cheese. And the Breakfast Skillet breakfast tortillas. I like Peak Refuel's Breakfast Skillet a little better than Mountain House but either is good. Knorr Side's chicken rice with pouch chicken on tortillas with taco sauce is pretty yummy, too.
Watched your trip, love your videos. My favorite trail breakfast is simple, Milk & Cereal, eat it every day, sometimes twice a day, I make my own blend with1 cup Grape Nut Flakes, 1/4 cup Shredded Coconut (for fat & calories), 1/4 cup Dried Blueberries, 1/3 cup NIDO (powdered milk made from cream). My favorite town food is Rotisserie Chicken from grocery stores, eat the thighs & wings first, use the breast for tacos. My basic snack/survival food is 1 pound of Walnuts, calorie dense @ 3000/lb, shelf stable, no cook, 65% fat, 14% protein, 14% carbs, - 7% soluble fiber. A person (or squirrel) could live on Walnuts. I bring a steak or sausage for first night out of town.
I think the best sandwich on the entire trail is the Philly Cheese Steak at the Port Clinton Hotel. Not only is it totally delicious but it is huge and if you order a side of fries with it, the fries are also huge. Most of the time a thru hikers appetite is ravenous however, I had great trouble finishing it. Another great video Bat! Thank you!
I just took pumpkin banana bread out of the oven so had to pause you while I got a piece. You got me hungry. Always fun to see your videos. You bring joy to your chanelly. Be kind to yourself too!😊❤
I I ate at that BBQ place in NY and it was SOOOOOO good! I had a cucumber and tomato salad for my side that was unbelievable! They really make the best sides!
We are doing the AT next year. We are testing foods to eat on the trail. We used the barbecue pork packet with macaroni and cheese, velvetta cheese packet , the pork packet. So good !!!
Hi Bad Bat I’m from Hanover NH! Lou’s Bakery is awesome! Next time you should try their carrot cake 🍰! I had Ramundos pizza last night and it was delicious!
I’m glad I watched this just after eating or I would have had the worst hunger pains🙂 Also surprised you were able to narrow it down. Great presentation and looking forward to more! ❤
What about Smoky Mountain diner in Hot Springs, NC home of the thru-hiker cheese burger? It's a 1/2 pound beef patty between two grilled cheese sandwiches as the buns. I saw on a video you went there.
Love the location in this vid, BadBat! It's very "AT-ish" and really took me back to your hike. I wish you would have talked specifically about "hiker hunger". You guys continuously ate massive amounts of food but just continued to shed the lbs. Oh, and the whole Reese's journey on your AT journey was one of the highlights for me. Believe me, I GET it. 😛🍫🥜❤️
The fancier version of Reeses are the Justin's. More expensive but they clearly taste better. The peanut butter content gives you a clean conscience since you are not just downing sugary chocolate. It's just a byproduct of the peanut butter. Single serve peanut butter needs to be warmed up nearly year round on the AT My protein hunger I fought with salami.
Vegetarian shop in wind gap is also amazing. I like to carry dried spices. Light and can spruce up your foods. Now I’m extra sorry I didn’t feed you as you passed. I bake sourdough breads, and all kinds of healthy and yummy foods for hikers. You goin to hikerdays next summer?
BB, you can never leave YT! I will not survive without my weekly dose of positive energy from you! 😊 ❤❤❤

Hard to beat Cafe 101 in Boiling Springs, PA for breakfast.
I’m curious if you met any other TH-camrs on the AT? Like Maddie from Beer in Beautiful Places? Thanks for sharing your adventure!
❤

Rhett & Link from Good Mythical Morning just did a video where they taste test every variety of Reese’s. Sooooo many different types! Who knew?
Collards FTW ❤ that!
Well done! GREAT to see you again, now excuse me - I'm gonna go raid my fridge!
I am so f***ing hungry right now I’m headed down to McDonald’s……😂

@@sulj3373 thanks! Great hearing from you. Been hiking the Sheltowee Trace Trail recently - beautiful area
That’s great you’re getting out hiking. Looking forward to you and your little tramily hike in November.

I am a Reese's addict too
Is it ree-sez or ree-sees?
I agree, either way they are the best.
Reese's popcorn!
