@@Joshywall1the bias is real loud unfortunately 😭. We watched the #7 pick lockdown MVP candidates every night AND produce on offense but her rookie season was “not remarkable” be so fr 😭
Yeah, I agree with your finishing analysis. My only slight pushback is Angel is not a "center." I don't know when or why people have been describing her role as such. Angel primarily plays the 4 and is considered a "power forward," but she is also regarded as undersized and is still out-rebounding everyone. Caitlin and Rickea, currently considered more efficient offensive threats, weren't triple or quadruple-teamed for most of the season. She and Kamilla were the team's primary defensive anchors. Everyone saw what happened when she sat down or after her injury. Better guards and the hire of Courtney Paris should greatly help Angel and Kamilla with their development. It wasn't spoken about enough that Angel was en route to hit the 500/500 milestone before her injury.
@@collegebballfan1 I also want her to add more versatility. Her games throughout the season showed she has the 3 and the mid-range in her arsenal. She needs to increase her confidence and do these things more often. The shots are there. But it's one thing to say "finish better through contact and on-glass and get more variety, instead of completely writing her off as this non-entity offensively. Angel never left that court with 3 pts or a triple donut, so I don't know why people sit in videos and act like she is a perpetual non-factor offensively. I'm not sure why everybody else gets grace to develop except Angel. To say her scoring and offense probably "is as good as it's going to get, I'd be surprised if it does" is insane.
Luckily CC has acknowledged she’s not good at off-ball defense (or defense in general) so it’s a weakness she’s aware of. @LebohangN No.. I do agree a lot of the teams that initially passed on her looked stupid, and the Lynx going with Pilli over Angel because of a 3 pt shot when Angel is a "coaches dream" and has the most to offer on both wings of the court and one of biggest ceilings in this draft class will be seen as a fumble long-term. No matter how their careers pan out. What I can't get behind is the historic rookie season Angel had is thrown to the side or treated like its "average" or nothing to write home about it because of "finishing" but her low finishing was not simply a form/skill issue. Angel's whistle was horrid throughout the season and again amongst the rookie class who else was getting the opps entire team put on them. Cait certainly wasn't. In his kamilla breakdown, he said the thing they often gave both of them the ball in traffic, which resulted in rush/forced shots, combined with the horrible whistle she had and form wise he is correct she does a hook shot instead of regular layup and starts everything to low on her hip and that wasn't effective especially when 3/4/5 players would pile her. They have a weird way of not giving her credit for what she was able to do. But in his Kamilla and Pilli breakdowns, he said what it truly was.
@@israelmoore9354 I agree with everything you said. To say Angel has no room for growth and has already hit her peak is crazy. But we will be back to laugh at this video. Angel is going to have an amazing second year that’s going to shock people like him. Her Basketball IQ alone is off the charts. I’m not worried about skills or mechanics because that can be fixed but she has the intangibles that many lack. Intangibles that win championships like her motor, her iq and her leadership. Pili was such a fun player and fan favorite during college. If she was in a young team tanking like the Mystics she could experiment a bit, but she’s in a contender team Minnesota. She was bigger than everyone else at college but in the W shes an undersized big. Not to mention the defense. Her offense is good but there are far more better defenders in the pros. I like her style of her play but I think she could be out of the league in about 2 years if she doesn’t find the right team that can use her offensive load. Some teams she can maybe shine in are teams like Washington, Dallas, and the Sun.
Hunter, what do you think about Chicago copy/paste some of the offense Memphis Grizzlies are running right now while being #2 in the west , thinking basketball have video about it if you wanna look more in depth, if Chicago lacks good PG to create, and want to keep both bigs close to basket +rotations without PnR would be really nice system to add, as it hides lack of ability to shoot the 3, and can use some of the fast guards/penetration guards chicago have right now such as dana/carter ( if they stay) as those lanes will be open in said system. Also Rickea is so efficient on 'her spots' she shoots 14% higher than league average on her fadeaway/turnaway +jumpshots when she get to her spots , so lower tier defense teams that let her get there, she torched them for example the 25 pts on 9/15 FG versus Dallas and the games vs Las Vegas where Sparks abused PnR to target slow post injury (still injured? ) Stokes and win the game. Games vs Indiana and when defended by NaLyssa was exactly the same she hit 5 of 7 shots and cooked NaLyssa/Fever defense. I would love to see with new coach and more experience how she is gonna develop, because her jumpshot/turnaway/fadeaway package is so elite already, and if she can get to her spots more often i can easily see her being top 5 most efficient scorer in the league.
SW seems to be a good defence coach, including team defence, and CC being the team player that she and the whole team should be helped a lot by her defence-wise.
Also struggled as a help defender in college if I’m remembering correctly. Wouldn’t expect her to be this bad next season but I’d be surprised if she develops into an above off ball defender. Being average would help the fever a lot but even if she doesn’t develop much defensively it’s something that can be addressed with team building.
Imo Edwards has a Phee type ceiling. She just needs to be developed. She's the most athletic big in that draft class. Give her a couple years of development and i bet she'll be an all-star.
Brink just needs to be physically stronger - she needs to be spending a lot of time in the gym filling out that frame of hers. She's built like a model, which is great for instagram but for her own longevity and future health, she needs to get bigger.

She has a bright future ahead of her
The clips of Cam at Unrivaled make it look like she's actually gotten skinnier. Cause for concern.
That’s what I thought when I saw her,I guess she knows three on three is even more physical but she looked disturbingly model skinny, which is not what an athlete supposed to look like.
she literally just injured her knee lmao it’s gonna take time for her to get back to normal. She probably hasn’t been able to workout normally which can lead to atrophy but she’ll be fine
ACL tear means one leg was disused for a long time and got thinner. It takes a while for the disused leg to grow back to size.
@ if that’s the case, I hope the coach unrivaled gives her time to get coordinated and don’t give her too many minutes.
@@shinningserpent2She’s not playing this season. She’s there with the team working out, but she won’t be playing.
Angel was picked 7th
How tf u make these vids so quickly
Pili was such a fun player and fan favorite during college. If she was in a young team tanking like the Mystics she could experiment a bit, but she’s in a contender team Minnesota. She was bigger than everyone else at college but in the W shes an undersized big. Not to mention the defense. Her offense is good but there are far more better defenders in the pros. I like her style of her play but I think she could be out of the league in about 2 years if she doesn’t find the right team that can use her offensive load. Some teams she can maybe shine in are teams like Washington, Dallas, and the Sun.
Angel was the 7th pick hunter
Where did you get that cardoso stats from ? The post up on
Hunter, what do you think about Chicago copy/paste some of the offense Memphis Grizzlies are running right now while being #2 in the west , thinking basketball have video about it if you wanna look more in depth, if Chicago lacks good PG to create, and want to keep both bigs close to basket +rotations without PnR would be really nice system to add, as it hides lack of ability to shoot the 3, and can use some of the fast guards/penetration guards chicago have right now such as dana/carter ( if they stay) as those lanes will be open in said system.
Did CC show flashes of good defense in college? I’m curious if defense is something that can be trained at this level. I’ve heard it isn’t?
Also struggled as a help defender in college if I’m remembering correctly. Wouldn’t expect her to be this bad next season but I’d be surprised if she develops into an above off ball defender. Being average would help the fever a lot but even if she doesn’t develop much defensively it’s something that can be addressed with team building.
Imo Edwards has a Phee type ceiling. She just needs to be developed. She's the most athletic big in that draft class. Give her a couple years of development and i bet she'll be an all-star.
Everything Dallas needs screams Olivia Myles.
1000000% agree about cardoso and entry passes
Audi Crooks. #55 women's basketball player from Iowa State deserves some attention!
Brink just needs to be physically stronger - she needs to be spending a lot of time in the gym filling out that frame of hers. She's built like a model, which is great for instagram but for her own longevity and future health, she needs to get bigger.
reese greatest rebounder in wnba history (has no other game) brink could be greatest rim protecter ever in wnba (rn its griner) clark greatest passer im already giving her that sue was not on this level and clark will or might be the greatest scorer ever
Greatest scorer? No, she could be the greatest deep 3 ball shooter.
Just curious but why don’t you believe that angel can maybe add a jumper this year? I think maybe not consistently but she’s shown that she can do it.
I think she will add a jumper, maybe not elite but she does have more work ethic to get better than most players even though everyone just thinks she posts online 24/7.
I think the form all together needs an overhaul & the numbers haven’t been there at any point in her college career
he don’t see it bc he doesn’t dig as deep into Angel as he would to make excuses for Caitlin Clark. Angel can def shoot and was a big guard prior to LSU. He speaks of mechanics like it’s the end all be all but the question is can she make them!? You can tell when someone has biased and don’t really play the spot. He can’t even get her draft right. Pay attention
@@HunterCruse14 In college she didn't really need it. She dominated without one but by the end of her rookie year she understood she will never be an elite player (meaning like All W) without one. Time will tell though.
I don’t think he likes Angel very much. He never says anything positive when it comes to her.
CC got to act like she want to play defense! She didn’t play it in college either! She long enough to at least be Steph Curry level defender!
Curry has really good defensive instincts don’t know if she can be that level of off ball defender. All I’m looking for is a Kyrie instead of Luka level defense lol.
I don’t understand why Cardozo is not focused on more for Chicago, even for things like this
1-caitlin- defense and maturity
2-brink- health, 3pt shot, add some weight or play sf and work on perimeter d
3- cardoso- be more aggressive like she is in china
4-rikea- countinued 3pt development, defense and rebounding. maybe even playmaking in new offense
5-sheldon- get her shot back and some bulk plus continued playmaking development
6-edwards- midrange shot and 3pt development plus experience
7- angel reese- develop consistent jumpshot
8- pilli- conditioning, defense and get her shot back
9- leite- shooting
10 lecan- shooting and d
11-marquesha-playing in china gets her reps. she just needs to be ready for training camp to get a role. shooting and 3pt. defense is coming along
12-puoch- experience and shooting
@dewuster8885 it is immaturity. She was a brat throughout the season.
Yes Angel Reese immaturity.
@Tinkerbell-69 I don't really see that.
Oh sorry to hear that but that's okay use your other senses. Try to hear or smell or something dude.
@@Tinkerbell-69 don't be ignorant
Being tired is not a excuse to not play defense ☠️
Hes a CC glazer 😂
A lot of people are writing that Angel Reese was a guard until she got to college and that she has "guard skills." I have not seen it. If she has those skills, why can't she shoot? Even at mid-range? I think Mulkey saw Angel could not shoot and moved her inside and did not develop her because LSU does not do development.
lol if Reese put as much time into learning how to actually shoot as she does on her Social Media then she might turn into more than just a one dimensional player
She averaged 14 pts and 13 reb and out scored 80% of the other players in the All Star game. Go cry about it 😌
Angel was in the gym more than any rookie this offseason. Get that hate out yall hearts
You must be new here.
Reese had 6 points less than Clark and had the ball less she’s a better scorer and player
Are you trolling? Angel shot 2 less shots a game on a worse FG%. I think Angel is wayyy better than most people give her credit for but at this moment after their first year no way she is better scorer than CC.
@ nah she definitely is better defender rebounder passer leader it’s pretty easy
@@WORKSbaby Being a better "player" is something we could have a conversation about just not a better "scorer". Also saying she is a better passer is a joke. Better rebounder and defender 100% agree. The leader thing is probably a toss up. They are both really good leaders.
@@chrisstrawn3396 ok Ill give that to you
Angel Reese is just disappointing.
Sorry dude the turnover queen will never win a championship. She's to selfish. She just come to games to shoot. Nothing else
