Did pretty much exactly this on my extension roof, and it worked out pretty well. Brickie was actually impressed! Only difference was that I used Hall Clips to hold the flashing in the wall, and Lead Mate to fill the gaps. Both worked really well. Two years on, it still looks good.
I hadn't watched it till the end before I commented, you should have washed the dust out before you fixed it, mortar doesn't stick to dust for to long, not a dig just advice. Your good thought.
I am trying to repair my flat roof. I have applied the adhesive to the roof. When I lay felt onto the adhesive do I have to peel off the thin plastic sheet from the felt first? Absolute beginner here😮😮.
I dont like grinding to far when i use lead sheet sealant. I find it easier to mark the grind line when you lay the lead up the roof. The lab can cut and bend it while im grinding
When I do my step flashing always have marker pens 2 different cut lines 1 for the cut and 1 for the fold lines I have done it couple times cut on the fold line lol

Gave me the confidence to complete my DIY roof project at home, thanks.
Good man well done you. How did the flashing come out

Hall clips are great, I was taught with lead plugs. Well done for having a go.
loving your work
Thank you brother
Loads of different skills. Top man!
Thanks again geezer
Grat lead working, because I didn't know how to do it I used to just cut smaller pieces, I sure you know what I mean.
And wear cloves.
Hi yes i no what u mean. That must of took ages
Very good work. Thanks
Should the wall that the roof butts up to have stepped cavity trays in?
it would on new build, most extensions or older building it won't happen. Cost
Nice tutorial...
Carfy on

Thanks for your comment. We use lead sheet sealant not mortar. It miles better
Thanks 4 video
If you don't mind me saying we were taught to only mark bend lines in lead with another piece of lead
To be honest, it will all dull down to grey any way

Yes peal back 500mm. Get that stuck, then roll it back over the bit you stuck and remove the film as you roll out.
@@pauljamieconstruction1871 Thanks Paul 😊
When you have felt and batten the roof, why didn't you cut the chase then for the leadwork, now you have mess over the plain tiles

We always scratch the wall to while the leads in place before you take it down to bend then you know we're to grind to
Awesome work
Thanks mark 👍🏼
Has lead flashing got to be stepped.. Can it be a straight piece ,if it's not going into brick work.
Hi Richard, on render just mark your height top and bottom, ping a line or draw with pencil, we use 2 blades in a 4" grinder

Is it OK to use soakers under a small single overlap interlocking tile ?
You need to step and cover flashing or a secret gutter.
well done boys
Thankyou
Grind before tiling, water line min 2 inches before marking steps ,but not a bad job 8/10

😂😂
water line depends on tiles used and its only dust the rain will sort it
You should only mark lead with lead and it should never be longer than 1.5 metres
Thanks for your comment. This is 1.5m fyi.
