I've backed okuma reels for 10 years in the trade. Had many a bellend tell me how crap they are.. And 10 years later there all going strong!. And now the okuma reels have come on even more. Good job okuma.
I just recently picked up this reel. I gotta say I love it. Absolutely no problem casting and smooth with 30 pound braided. No problem bringing in 30 inch blues and striper.
I use them on Danube, ( surf version, 1 year now ),for catfish on 0.60 mm mono and 250 grams leads. They do it easily and are stil as new. Reagardless of the slight change in gear feel when spinning empty, when you pull it pulls like new.
Sold my shimano ultegras and purchased these reels iv never looked back a perfect reel at a very realistic price, 👍👍👍 the line lay is excellent don't waste your money on shimanos let's face it shimano from speedcast to the high end reels look the same.
@@ukr1pp3r99 I've got 4 6000 inceptions, 3 of them with 15lb mono and had cats to 45lb and carp to 31lb, literally hundreds of fish on them, can't fault them, I'd say these are as good as the new ultegra 5500 xtd but at £59 each!!! And alot lighter, I use the 4th one with 30lb whiplash and that's for my floater work, again dozens upon dozens of Carp to mid 20s and Never missed a beat, I was dubios about getting reels not made by Shimano or daiwa as I had a few wychwoods over the years when seeking bargains and they all feel to bits, Mitchell avocasts and Penn affinitys and Penn surfblasters all fell to bits, the gears and worm. Shaft just chew up, but I swear to you these okumas are as good as the big brands, the newer shimanos are not like the original ultegra xtb, they where tanks, the modern Shimano stuff is not made to last, as Shimano know people will most likely change tackle every couple of seasons or whenever a new version is released so they don't have to worry about longevity, and okuma offer a 5yr warranty! I've just ordered a set of 3 okuma 8ks today, so I'll upload a honest review, and for the tarts out there I've had most of the high end stuff, at one point I had 9 different custom torrix made up, you don't have to pay big money to get good gear these days
The colour and the handle I think is about the only difference . I use the surf’s for smoothounds , bull huss and rays using braid with 6-7oz leads and they’ve never missed a beat
I recently bought an LS 8K fully expecting to be able to buy an extra spool. Alas no joy. I would also like to have bought an Okuma Rockaway 8000 Baitfeeder. Same story no extra spool available. I already have an Aventa Centerpin and two Aventa Baitfeeders. But no more Okuma's for me.
Spring loaded line clips is the only bit stopping me ordering these reels. I have them on my current reels and are a major pain in the arse having to set the spool in that sweet spot to allow my finger under the spool to push them out and not been able to just wrap the line around the clip. Are these different in any way or just as awkward. When using distance sticks on 3 rods this is the reason im looking at new reels in 1st place??

Iv had a set of epix pro baitrunners since 2007 and I love em, still going strong n super smooth drag.

i got an Okuma Dynadrag free when subscribing to Improve your Coarse Fishing mag 16 year ago, i still use it, it's very reliable!
Bought these reels a few weeks back and used at weekend gotta say I’m very impressed with them and didn’t think they were that heavy

Good reels! Very good but they are not for all rods (reel halter)

A mate gave me a old wychwood bait runner for deadbaiting when it gets a little colder but it’s fallen apart think I lol get this

Made well yes... but you pay the bigger bucks to have something much lighter .. the same in nearly all area's...
