Great video. I have a set of 3 for a while now and I absolutely love them. Yes the drag is too quick really but you do get used to it. Good choice in reels 😊
Quality watch as always did you hit 30 raps couldn't tell 😂😂😂 onto the next adventure in France onto the adventure tightlines look forward to the next video 🎣 👊
I'm.very happy with them, the only negatives are.the.clutches are super quick and.it is.possible to get line.caught under.the spool, I've done.it a.few.times
I get what your saying but I got an instant 5 wrap improvement just by adding reels. If I'd added a heavier weight I probably could hit 35 wraps. My rods are nothing special just Shimano TX2's but I like them.
So what distance is 30 wraps? and are you talking about 30 turns of line?. if you had a longer drop you'd go further even better with off the ground. I'm hitting 200 yards with 5oz. Also your casting style is poor over hitting the rod and not using the hands right hand up and as come over pull rod with left hand. Hope your using a shock leader! 3.5oz need at least 30lb line! as if that cracks off you will be feeling plod on your collar! down to lead and 6 turns on the reel. Mine have 100lb braid for shock leaders on both FS and Multipliers.
okuma flight surf 12000...{ obsidian } supplied with 2 spare reels , neither of which has a line clip and both do not have enough space to load enough line for surf fishing !!!! my complaint to okuma was unanswered !!! dont buy their products !

Thanks for comment, I think this week in France has really helped me get used to them. I'm now a lot more confident using the drag to play a fish.

Cheers Darwin 🍻
what do you mean by 25 raps ??? do you mean meters?
Hi Peter a Wrap is a common term used to describe 12ft when usimg distance sticks.
@@jvacarpyadventures7045 thanks..sounds like feet and inches !!! rather use meters that everyone understands
Been looking at these reels for a while, are they as good as they sound
I'm.very happy with them, the only negatives are.the.clutches are super quick and.it is.possible to get line.caught under.the spool, I've done.it a.few.times
Tested. F. Amazing
seems to be identical to the okuma flite surf 12000
Îs identic, just spool not.
Nice reels them
Thanks 👍
Will these be ok on 10ft rods ?
That's down to personal preference but they are lighter than my old 7000 size reels
@@jvacarpyadventures7045 ok but will they balance ok are the reels big in size ?
I use them.on 10s mate. Feel a little big but weight wise they balance alright 👍
Distance is more down to the rod than the reel.

25 wraps no rig on
Just for testing fella

I'm guessing your not from the UK?
Assuming he's using 12 foot rods 30 wraps is 120 yards. The rod is the main factor not the reel.
@@jvacarpyadventures7045 Yep i'm in London cough cough Khan get outta my wallet!
@@jvacarpyadventures7045 I use that Wychwood DPD line it's pretty good.
30 wraps is only 120 yards with a plain lead Korda do 3.75 leads
