    @alphadestiny Could you share with us what your diet/regular protein intake is like? On your insta feed I see mostly whole, healthy foods, which I totally like myself, and I believe in high repetition bodyweight as a part of a routine as well. But with including 3-4 days of lifting and swimming when I can, I feel like I have to keep up high protein to keep progress and muscle. Some have claimed to have an intensive routine and keep a lower protein intake, and some have said that a bit of burning muscle isn’t that bad.
    So, what are your thoughts on protein needs in a high rep bodyweight (I’m trying to maintain 500 push ups/200 pull ups daily, some decent core etc), full body weights 3 days, swimming type of routine? I do need SOME carbs to feel energized, and try to include many veggies and keep my protein between at least 0.6-.8g/weight (I feel .8 is sufficient atm to grow)..
    Anyone else have a similar routine (high reps, compound weights, cardio) and willing to offer their diet? I’m just wanting to feed for some ideas and feedback. Respect you and all you working hard. Thanks.

    Maybe I'm misunderstanding but how can you do what he does without specialist equipment? This is all taking into account you have access to a lot of special equipment or am I missing the point? The way he says about 50-55-60 percent intensity high rep work is very much BBB from wendler 531 so that's nice to take into straight bar training and dumbbells. Anyone able to clarify this?

  • @archmaesterofpullups
    @archmaesterofpullups 5 ปีที่แล้ว +1

    Matt said that he does speed work with 185. I assume that is 185 straight weight. How much band tension is at the bottom, though? Are the bands completely deloaded at the bottom?

      What's speed work

    • @archmaesterofpullups
      @archmaesterofpullups 5 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      @@madlad453 speed work, aka the dynamic effort method, usually entails doing many sets with low reps of low to moderate weight, usually with accommodating resistance. The weight is moved as fast as possible to emphasize rate of force development.
      Westside used to do something like 8x3-16x3 for bench, 12x2 for squats, and singles for deadlifts with something like 50% 1RM on the bar plus accommodating resistance. Matt says that he uses far lighter loads for speed work.
