Thank you guys very much, with your information and another great comparison video I found, I just installed Chinese exhaust on my bike with logo facing in so I'm not even fake repping the brand and it's much deeper and way louder. Not worth the money grab for me to buy named brand type for me. If my less expensive one breakdown I can buy 6 cheaper ones from China for the cost of one brand name. With your information I'll definitely add an air filter and get it dyno tuned asap. Thanks for taking the time and expense!!

@@Chasing299 I'm running a 2013 Ducati Monster 696, went down a tooth on the front sprocket 15t to 14t for better acceleration, and swapped the slip ons, with as discussed a sc project replica exhaust with logo hidden, and purchased Racing Motorcycle 51mm Exhaust Muffler Baffle Silencer DB Killer - Flat Tip. @@PauloBriggs1 hey so I talked to Ducati and they said not worth getting tuned. Slip ons dont change the compression enough that thr money would be worth it or wreck the bike
Like what I speculated before, we are just only buying the name and it adds a lot to the price tag. Just a simple thing made of metal sheets and putting a high price tag is ridiculous. This is also the same thing about helmets, even the much cheaper helmets of not so popular brands are at par or even performs better according to test results. Again, it's just a name.
I do agree mate Ive been using and buying fake exhaust. And yes you are right about helmets too just for example the scorpion exo r420 is dot and snell approve. And some agv helmets are 250$ yet only has dot approve
Yup. That's why I bought Delkevic muffler: cheap, very well made and best DB killer setup. Dont understand why pay more for crappy Akra or SC for ex. I use MT helmets and replace after every crash. Great helmets. Only ventilation in more expensive brands seem a bit better sometimes
ehhh its not really just name....its materials...they arent real titanium so u do get cheaper stuff and heavier....but they are still good af forknock offs
So, lookng at this tests, one thing jumps out with both, dumping the stock CAN, and replacing it with an loud after market name brand or china version, it will kick up the performance/BHP by the good amount 😁
Videos are kind of old so I doubt ill get a responce. But I was told I did not need a tune if I only added a slip on. with a simple slipon without a tune mess up my bikes performance?
but then, different bike gonna yield different results. My Ducati Monster 1100 evo stock exhaust is pretty light with very little restriction at the end can. The cat is located in the mid pipe, so swapping the end can with after markets wont make much of a difference in performance except for the looks and sound of course. ANyways great effort on putting the bike on dyno for some real results.
@@Chasing299 kind a half assed test no? Of corse theres going to be only a small power difference if all you’re doing is trying different silencers bud. Silencers add no horsepower whatsover, as seen by these results.. a bit let down by this test..
I got a gsx 650 f but mine is limited 2 years. I can't tune nothing, just exhaust. It's a "fake" one bad with just 45HP? I hear no stock exhaust make the bike go worse at low revs, so it's even worst with a "fake" one? Ty :)
What we discovered is without a tune the exhaust will make your bike run rich or lean. This will send the bike out of wack. Power commanders are a good option for bikes without fly-by wire. Hope this helps
Subscribed. Thinking of slapping on a full exhaust on my R15, mostly so I can go find the right muffler that will make me happy. I can't chase 299 yet but will do when I get a bigger bike!
I also have an r15 and was wondering, do you need to remap/tune the ecu when changing full system exhaust even though it doesnt have a cat? Because i keep hearing that "its only a 150cc bike so its ok without a remap" but im afraid of damaging my engine and hard to find a tuner here in my country, so im asking if you can help me. Thankyou :)
@@michaeljohn5130 Actually you don't be producing very much gains with just an exhaust. It makes better sense to have a remapped or race ecu then slap on an exhaust system. I still have my stock exhaust, and I'm making the most of the bike since it's plenty fast enough for our narrow and twisty mountain roads.
Shame the last run was stuffed up with the stock pipe. Rpm measurement is wrong which makes it useless to compare with the other 2. With the stock pipe it revved to 14500rpm? While rev limit cut in at 13000 for the 2 other runs. Someone stuffed up there. Also, you can't get a proper a/f reading from a sensor chucked in the end of the standard pipe with a cat, so that a/f reading is not a true representation at all.
@@Chasing299 and if the bike has been tuned for a non cat pipe, it was always going to run really bad with the stock pipe, with fuelling tuned for a non cat pipe.
@@theonlynorton don't know what the rev limiter was set to but we do agree with your statement on fueling. The stock pipe was doomed to fail from the start. We were surprised to see what a difference it was because if small adjustments to fueling made that much of a difference it could be said that tuning your bike is more important then the pipe itself.
@@Chasing299 with a lot of modern bikes, a tuned bike with standard exhaust is comparable to a non tuned bike with an aftermarket exhaust. Fuel injected bikes don't suddenly increase in power with an aftermaket exhaust. Mt10 for example loses power with an aftermarket pipe. Once tuned, people get that power back and are happy with their amazing gains. But they rarely have a stock run to compare to. I've seen tuned standard mt10 power and graphs that are extremely close to tuned de cat systems.
We determend that it's not so much the pipe but the tune that makes the real difference. If your on a budget get the cheapest pipe and pay for a good tune 😁

This test only compares silencers man, and the header pipes are the same for both tests..not good man.. the conclusion is still inconclusive until tested properly.
$850 for an akrapovic or $150 for a replica and only lose 2HP.. I'll save the $700 and put it into other mods.. thank you
