This Alien Invasion Manga Had SO MUCH Potential…

Hey guys! With the cancellation of the Aliens Area manga, I thought I'd finally check it out. So this is like a post-mortem review. if you will, analyzing what I think went wrong with the series. I put a lot of effort into the editing on this one, so hopefully you like it!

stories with reactive protagonists like this manga are always a gamble, you have to back it up with something that grabs your attention, that's how Bleach got so popular, by the time the story started to flop and make no sense, the art alone was enough to hook readers (tho it didn't save it in the end)

Agreed. I felt like the MC in this was almost like a side character or something. He didn’t even really fight either, just kinda stood on the sidelines

So if he was given a second chance to reboot the series and do it all over again I would say make the main character desperate as for the secondary protagonist make him more disassociative with people so to speak give him more of an emperor of mankind sort of complex because that character screams villain vibes if I’ve ever seen anybody who could pretty much become someone who’s somewhat like Makima at first starting off as someone who is genuinely cool and a little goofy like a mentor character but as you dive into the second protagonist he starts to come off more and more somewhat cold and distant towards others and everything our main protagonist should be and shouldn’t be at the same time as for killing off the siblings I have to disagree with that they could’ve been just kidnapped and experimented on or used for experimental testing by the aliens make the main protagonist desperate to want to get his siblings back and challenge his need to be a better big brother but also realizing what type of person will he be bringing his siblings back to. Once he achieves that first goal of his and another thing I have to agree with is the character designs pretty much could’ve been revamped and done in a more stylistic format where you already have a good looking art style you just need good looking characters and far more frightening looking aliens like there’s a high amount of material from anime to take from neon genesis jujitsu kaizen chainsaw man the works you got pretty much an unlimited amount of potential and inspiration. Unfortunately we’ll never see this series again but it was cool at the start for what it was also bringing in a female love interest probably would’ve also helped to but it is what it is

Sounds like the writers missed the mark on this series to attract their audience and keep them interested.
U had some great ideas- mayb writing a series with some of these ideas is in your future.

So many good series are getting cancelled for the sake of pure crap. This is Kaiju No 08 all over again...

I would say that this mangaka can create a great series. Probably in the future we will see how he hit the big time. Maybe he is already working on that one shot right now.

it was good for time pass but not that much top tier. art was good but the execution of the plot was a bit boring and nothing out of the ordinary
