the ds and 3ds can be emulated but the problem is the console's controls are unique enough to not be comfortable to play on an emulator. gyro, microphone, cameras, 2nd screen, touch screen can all be emulated but it will feel clunky.
I suppose you can at least emulate the gyro and microphone with a Dualsense, since it has it built in. Objectively it isn't ideal compared to a real 3DS though, or at least some sort of dual screen setup.
It’s crazy how expensive they are. Even more than the Vita it seems. It’s tough to jump into the 3DS now if you’re not gonna mod it haha. Hope you’re enjoying your N64 dude!
Completely agree bro, a lot of 3DS games are insanely pricey now so it’s a no brainer to mod it (also hella easy too lol). Unfortunately I’m still trying to find an adapter that will actually work for the N64, I had to return the first one I bought
@@FranchisePlayyer Yeah man, if I were to ever get one, I’d have to hack it haha. Oh yeah, you told me you had to return the first one. Goodluck finding the right one! I bet you’re trying to find one in the wild haha,
@@FranchisePlayyer I recently had a regular N3DS and enjoyed it a lot for it's size and face plate swap, however, the bottom screen was gashed and the top screen had some serious wobble to it. Thankfully, a good friend who owns a local game store had a N3DS Galaxy edition that has excellent screens for its age and the hinge is way more sturdy. The shell isn't the greatest, but id rather have excellent screens above all else. Cheers. 🤙
Awesome recap, I've been revisiting my 3DS too recently. Platformers feel great with that circlepad somehow. Also, the other videos on your channel are great so far as well. Subbed and looking forward to the next one, keep it up!
My old brother gave me his 3DS when I was young. I didn't know it was modded and when I knew it was I experienced lot of trouble in it. But it was still amazing. Still alive and updating the homebrew to this day.
When a boxed SNES themed 3DS xl is worth $650 to $1500 just show you how fun this system is. The Sega Genesis 3D games are some of the best gaming experiences you can have today.
Nice video 👍 I got a pre owned 2DS earlier this year and I've been loving it! Great system, comfy to hold and everything. I've been spending loads of time playing Mario Kart 7, Super Mario 3D Land and many other games. Some of the most underrated and best games I've ever played honestly. Really glad to own one. The 3DS consoles are fantastic! 👍
I just got my new 3ds and it’s the most entertainment I’ve had in a while, I’m starting my first play through of omega ruby, I didn’t even know new super Mario 2 was on here, that is super fun, and the 3d Mario is fun, games that are full games and remakes that actually do a good job all for free, you can’t beat it.
I recently repaired my 3ds because smash bros happened to my thumb stick like 7 years ago and since then it's literally been collecting dust. On a whim i repaired the joy stick and modded it and it was the best decision ever. I even bought a new 3ds xl from a friend of mine and modded that too. The 3ds is probably my favorite system of all time and im soooooo happy i can play it again. If you have one modding it is extremely easy!
I love collecting handhelds. For the 3ds I have my OG 3ds, my new 3DS xl, I also got a 2ds and new 2ds xl. I got a good physical collection of 3ds games and my new 2ds xl is modded.
Great video, got me a lime green/Black N3DS XL, white Oled PSVita, modded GBA, and a modded reshelled translucent blue DS LITE to relive some childhood memories still need to get a regular psp because I never had the vita or 3DS growing up and wanted to see what I was missing out on. All this 2 months ago spend about 900 altogether lol
I bought a Japanese 2DS LL in decent condition for $130. I love the minimalist form factor and super light weight compared to some of the other models. Catch is, it's got a blue line running across the bottom screen (not that noticeable during gameplay, though!). But parts are cheap and I have a bottom screen coming from AliExpress in the next week or so. 2DS X/LLs at that price point seem be in far worse condition on average, and nicer examples seem to average $160 - $200! Nuts! Just modded it and am blown away by the hshop. Here's to hoping we some OLED or IPS screen mods in the future!
I honestly really want a 3ds because, one it's really easy to mod. You can get acssed to pretty much everything and the only cost is the device itself. Two, the library of games. One game that I REALLY want to play is Monster Hunter 4 Ultimate. Unfortunately, due to a lot of reasons, I can't get one but I see why it's popular. It holds up amazingly in 2024
The only issue that I have with 3ds is its library , out of 940 retail games (not eshop included) ,400 of them are Jpn exclusives , the rest are 70+ hours RPGs ,there are about 50 good titles to play if you are not into turn based RPGs but apart ,compared to DS/DSi the 3ds library is underwhelming. I still think that the device is worth it in 2024 tho ,it's excellent when modded with so many options
Wish I had a 3DS XL, but loved my MK7 2DS since getting it in 2017 for $70. Best value in gaming today...and it feels more like a Game Boy success (just like the Switch Lite). Just saw a SNES 3DS in a game store for $399 last week and a plain gray for $199. Nuts prices! But such a unique system...will just keep playing 3DS/DS games and patched SNES RPGs via homebrew until then!
Because it's still amazing. The Switch is torn between docked and hand-held mode. Hand-held is great but many are not optimised for hand-held play. Docked mode presents a game that will look better on any other system.
I never played ds or 3ds. My last handheld was a gameboy color lol. I bought a modded dsi, 3ds, 3ds xl, and new 2ds xl. The modded consoles are available on etsy and eBay and totally worth it if you aren't tech savvy. I like the 3ds for emulating gameboy advance (pokemon leaf green) and nes. Its light and portable. I'm planning to use the new 2ds for snes games and animal crossing and tomodatchi life. I think a lot of the stylus heavy games suck and hurt my hands. I added pop sockets to the backs and bought a comfort grip for the 2ds xl. Much more comfortable.
@@FranchisePlayyer @Burgerman3455mc yea there's a retro game shop near me that has a 2ds for £50 which is like $60-70 (sorry i replied on the wrong comment 😭😭)

Exactly, emulating DS and 3DS games just isn’t as good as playing on original hardware

Finding a 3DS with screens that aren't scratched or blemished is the biggest challenge of all.
True, it’s getting harder and harder to find a 3DS in good condition these days

That is because the 3ds is such a GOATed console with all its features and games.

It's hard to get the hardware but easy to mod so overall ownership costs is less than a switch.
