Looks great! I came here because I'm making one for my friend. Mine is out of oak, and will keep the natural wood look. I unfortunately don't have all the tools I need though, so I can't make exactly what I want to
Yes this one was definitely for show not practicality, but since then I’ve made another that is much more durable and I’d say is still a show piece but could definitely be traveled with.
It is still standing as we speak but it is definitely more of a decoration piece than a practical piece. I do want to try this again in the future and I will definitely use thicker wood.
@@Warehouse18 ty so much for taking the time to answer, im currently learning some woodworking and would like to practice on some small but complex projects for myself.
I'm concerned. But otherwise pretty nice. Maybe putting a divider inside where the cards are held would be cool so two decks can fit at once and be separated.
No need to be concerned, this one specifically is made for one standard 60 card deck and some extra space, but it would be easy to make separate compartments in the top, I would just need to make the box slightly bigger in order to comfortably fit two decks.
Buddy use gloves on The band saw unless you hate your fingers and want to chop them of and not make anymore cool stuff cool box bit use gloves!!!!!!!!!
Thank you for the concern but gloves can actually do more harm than good, it’s very easy for the material on gloves to get caught and actually pull your finger into the machine, where as not using gloves you have more control and you are more aware of where the blade actually is. And if you’ve ever used one or similar tools before, the most cut you’ll ever get are small ones if your not careful, and to chop a finger off you’d have to forcefully put your finger through with the intent of chopping it off.

that's very nice an cool idea. great customization on the brass "black mana" skull.
Sooooo cool, nice idea 💙
Great video! I'm really surprised by how simple you made it look.
Thanks so much!
Rock on. Keep at it. And if the superglue doesn't hold up in the long term, pick up some of the 5-minute epoxy from your local hardware store.
Thank you very much, and thank you for the tip I might have to try that on my next project and compare the two.
Is this type of box fragile? Would you ever put it in your backpack for example

Incredible idea.
Thank you!
Great video! Keep it up!
how is the durability doing ? i dont really trust the thickness of the wood :/

@@Warehouse18 thanks mate, im looking to make 1 by my one and its seems i will need to mill pine wood
Maybe if the lid had hinges and a latch, even deck cases that are machined do jot have secure lids.
how much does it weight ?
I don’t have a scale to weigh, but as an educated guess I’d say it’s less than a pound.
