Washing a bike is always a fucking pain in the arse but the end result is always worth it. I find that drinking beer before, during and after helps. Good on ya Red.
In 1981 I walked into a harley dealership in shawnee, Oklahoma and fell in love with a new wide glide with a flame paint job on it. The price was $6495.unaffordable at the time. I can't get that bike out of my head, it was so beautiful . Your bike reminds me of that bike I could never have. Hoping someday I can get one. I've owned several bikes since but that 81 wide glide got away. Your videos are awesome, keep up the good work.
It's obvious how much pride you take in your ride and I love the fact you actually ride it. It"s an awesome machine and would kick ass in any show. The fact that you use it for GO gets my respect. I really enjoyed this particular vid because it gave us time to be able to really examine your ride. Every time I see it, I see something I had missed before. So many one off pieces on that thing. It really is a work of art. Thanks again for taking the time to put your videos out for all of use to enjoy. Ride often and try to ride safe but even if you're not riding safe , always have a kick ass time!
It's pretty clear that somebody loves their scooter... just a little bit :) Out of all the one-off bits and pieces of your scooter, I like that half penny caliper medallion the best. That is just the bee's knees!
Lemon Pledge and a micro-fiber cloth is all I've used for at least 10 years on all my bikes. Windshield, chrome, paint, everything. Those spoke rims are a total pain in the butt to clean. Every once in awhile we used 0000 steel wool on the chrome rims n spokes my girlfriends Honda Shadow 1100. I have polished aluminum rims on my Yamaha Stratoliner so those get Lemon Pledge too, easy peezy! Good to see you producing more content! Thanks for all you do! :-)
I enjoyed watching you talk and care for your bike this morning. It helps me ease into the day and for that I am thankful. As much as I’m careful, it never ceases to amaze me the things that can happen to my bike. I’m sure you will need to wash yours again, or at least rinse it off. I’ve found it helpful to use a electric leaf blower to get to places that’s difficult to reach as well as speeding up the process. I look forward to your next video and I wish you safe riding.
Tell us what you did at Harlley? And what you do now? Spray down with gunk, spray down with water blow dry with leaf blower makes the job way less painful. And theres no water spots. my 84 fxr looks great after all these years. Pretty good video skills Red
I really enjoy your videos. I like all the hand made additions and upgrades you’ve made. I know it’s hard to keep clean but, you do a great job at keeping it looking nice.
Hand wash is the only way to go and the copper and brass really pops with the green paint you have given me some ideas for the oil lines on my shovel pretty lady, nice bike, great content keep the videos coming
Your bike looks fantastic weather it's clean or dirty. I wash my bike maybe once every two months. I figure it's just gonna get dirty right after anyway. I ride every day. Rain or shine. But it helps me really get a close look at everything and see if there are any problems developing with it. Now go ride that sweet beast and stay safe!
That beautiful bike came out nice, Red. And, handing washing your bike allows you to notice anything that might need attention. Love your channel kid. It's one of my favorites. Peace, Eric in Kissimmee, Florida.
Nice job. I like my Pan engine and trans mounted in it's 1981 FX frame with Progressive suspension front and rear and sticky Avon tires, fun to ride on the twisty secondary roads around here. But your bike with all the custom detail is way above anything I have seen elsewhere. If you are really looking for encouragement, I think you are very engaging, fun and you are obviously good looking, so what would we have to complain about? Hope you enjoyed the ride and didn't collect too many bugs! The main drive gear leak is fixable, you have to pull the clutch, sprocket, clean it in the bike and put it back together with silly seal between everything (not in the clutch components) plus use a MDG nut with the built in seal, that has worked for me.
yeah there's a built in leak at the mdg, gob some silicone into the splines behind the drive sprocket, install sprocket and some more silicone behind the tabbed nut keeper, torque down and bend an ear or two on the keeper, walla, no more leak.
Wow, good job. I never wash the bikes with water. Lately I use this dry wash stuff sold at the Harley. Think it’s called A-1. Spray foam on wipe off. I carry a piece of Nylon for the air cleaner cause if I’m riding, it’s raining. Just the way it is in the States, Northeast way. Thanks for posting.
I hate washing mine too! Mostly I keep it clean with Armor-all for glass, it works great. I also use it on the paint which is black denim. It dries quickly, no spots, no fuss no muss. Great bike Red Rider!!
Great video and you did a great job. You’re a hard worker… watching you kick your bike over shows just how much you love your bike. Great job, keep up the videos. Love you and your videos.!!

I crashed my 1975 fx1200 shovel only 1 time…in a heavy down pour. I mistakenly grabbed my front brake to avoid hitting a car and front wheel locked up and slid out from under me. I didn’t get hurt but I still don’t like riding in rain. You were smart to park and wait. I like your vids.
If you get a chance, try using Windex Ammonia free to clean your chrome, it will not harm the aluminum on your bike but Windex regular with Ammonia tears up the Aluminum and causes it to oxidize.!
They do seem to run better when clean! But a cheap Harbor Freight power washer is worth it. Especially if hooked up to the HOT water. A spray down with good ol' GUNK or Simple Green first. Plastic bags and rubber bands on the intake and pipes. I have gangsta wide whitewalls on my '68 and the first time I washed it without covering the pipes and started it, she blew black yickkk all over the rear whitewall.

Got caught in a torrential downpour coming home from work years ago .like you I thought that I could make it home by out running it but NO it cut loose so hard that even the cars and trucks were pulling off the highway! Had to find a overpass to hide under until it passed and the people parked there gave me the WTF are you doing out riding in this heavy rain lol 😆 Thank God I had my full coverage helmet on that day because it was literally stinging the hell outta my arms and chest due to me just wearing a tee shirt n jeans otherwise I would've kept riding all the way home !😎💪 very nice bike !
I'm a fanatic about keeping my bike as clean as I can; when reasonable of course. A question though..., I'm curious about the vertical brass-colored cylinder on the lower right-hand side of your bike. It appears to have copper tubing coming out of it. What is it?
It’s a catch tank for my breather. The oil that would normally breath out of the crank case and drip onto the ground collects in the catch tank. So instead of making a big mess on the ground I just have to empty that tank every so often.

Damn red , at the beginning of this program you was looking like a redhead Casper , with your pail skin. ( I mean absolutely no disrespect) I think your beautiful. Anyways now twords the end of your show. You look like you might be in some pain come dark . Looks like you just came from the Texas coast. That is one badass sled you got there . With your Irish hair and the green and gold scheme on your ride. You definitely complement each other . That's pretty hot . Anyways that's enough of all that. Great show , thanks for doing what you do. Stay free .
I've had bikes I never washed, not once lol. A good long ride in the rain would actually help clean them. It's a dilemma in your case as that bike probably needs to be clean, I don't know maybe all that brass and copper would take on a nice patina if just left to the elements.
My shovel had an automatic chain oiler that guarantees to put oil everywhere on rider and bike on every ride. Must clean after every ride and forget riding in light color clothes. Ha but it was fun.
Dig .your a lot myself when it comes to my bike...i only ride when I don't have to go thru this shit....ig I'm not on my bike...im on my 18 wheeler......thay both git my TLC.....good girl....stay your way. 👍😍

I have progressive shocks off a early 2000s dyna
Damn red , at the beginning of this program you was looking like a redhead Casper , with your pail skin. ( I mean absolutely no disrespect) I think your beautiful. Anyways now twords the end of your show. You look like you might be in some pain come dark . Looks like you just came from the Texas coast. That is one badass sled you got there . With your Irish hair and the green and gold scheme on your ride. You definitely complement each other . That's pretty hot . Anyways that's enough of all that. Great show , thanks for doing what you do. Stay free .
Haha thanks! I was actually not bad after that wash. I did get burnt today though :(
I've had bikes I never washed, not once lol. A good long ride in the rain would actually help clean them. It's a dilemma in your case as that bike probably needs to be clean, I don't know maybe all that brass and copper would take on a nice patina if just left to the elements.
This was the first bath this bike has got in 5 years.
My shovel had an automatic chain oiler that guarantees to put oil everywhere on rider and bike on every ride. Must clean after every ride and forget riding in light color clothes. Ha but it was fun.
PRIDE OF OWNERSHIP. CHARACTER. INTEGRITY.
