Not all of Mumbai. South Mumbai & some areas next to it. The best & the fastest constructed infra projects are there. + Any project that facilitates the travel/ life of the Wealthy & the top politicians who live there .
The suburbs , esp in & around Navi Mumbai lack infra & what few projects being done there is at a snail's pace. Suburbs are full of congested bad roads. Worse in many areas Metro & Flyover pillars have been put right in the middle of arterial/ main roads making these narrow.
Thane Metro work is as good as at a standstill for a few years now & there again the half constructed pillars & dug up parts of road make traffic a nightmare. Roads anyway have plenty potholes & are traffic is badly managed. CM Shinde & family get votes there but their work there zilch . Still people will vote for them.
Infact the largest voting population of Mumbai is in the suburbs & Navi Mumbai. But it's South Mumbai that gets the preferential treatment by the Govt
Bandra-Versova sea-link should be completed fast to know the benefits of this coastal road...
Other status also check this success and start work in there state..so mumbai load will manage and local people can leave peacefully

This project was first proposed by an American architect 50 years back. Prithviraj Chauhan tried to revive the plan in 2011 but central govt didn’t approve it due to environmental concerns and existing CRZ rules not allowing it. In 2015 state govt under Fadnavis thought of going for it again. They got a new plan passed where some of the concerns of fishermen were tried to resolved. Finally in 2015 Center changed CRZ rules and project got go ahead. Work on project was to be undertaken by BMC and mmrda and work started in 2018. So how did it become chuddhav’s dream project ? Chuddhav did his best to slow metro projects and bullet train project by not doing land acquisition.

I know this is a one way tunnel which will have three lanes. Left lane is for emergency stopping or Ambulance. The middle lane and right lane are for cars. So I thought if three cars side by side can be driven easily or not.

One more car centric prj.Common people will have to take a share cab or a bus to catch a bus on coastal road. Do the authorities understand the concept of BRTS? It appears they are preparing for traffic jams from day one. Otherwise, why would BRTS or an emergency lane be required on a road with free-flowing traffic? Anyways thanks to the Govt for generating employment...

They purposely sabotage public transport, to suckle around the vicious cycle of revenue around the car model.
The whole system will lead to traffic jam because 8 lane road (6 normal lanes+ 2 BRTS and emergency lanes) is suddenly be reduce to 6 lanes road (4 normal+2 BRTS and emergency lanes) at the mouth of the tunnel leading to slow traffic and jams. It is better not to have BRTS lanes inside the tunnel as there will be very few BRTS buses in the tunnel, so that lane will mostly remain unused However the remaining part of the project can have a seperate lane for BRTS.

Don't understand the logic. The main traffic is post Bandra towards Borivali and vice versa in the morning. What is the point of a coastal road for the place which does not have that heavy traffic?

His Son Aditya Thackeray used to visit the project within every 2 weeks just to check whether its construction is running smoothly or not!! Even in COVID, they didn't let the work stop! Technically the sentence sounds correct. Toll gates and traffic management systems are fundamentally 2 different things. Toll gates just collect the fare and TMS is meant for regulating the incoming traffic too and is automated to detect any incoming vehicle not having a Fast tag permit to operate on the road so that it can be intercepted.
The way she is speaking/ reporting is so irritating.
