  • The premise of this alternate timeline is that George opts to release a single-disc album in late 1970 as opposed to the triple album magnum opus he’s known for. This allows for tracks from the All Things Must Pass period to be spread throughout George’s Apple years (70-75), creating albums that have a more balanced quality.
His second album, Cosmic Empire, releases in 1972 after he holds his Concert for Bangladesh in '71, just like our timeline. True to its name, Cosmic Empire's production is much more bombastic and in your face than the stripped back Run of the Mill.
I structured the album so that the album starts out somewhat light in tone, gets dark towards the middle, and then ends light, bringing the whole thing full circle. The songs generally focus on the struggles of material existence, with the bliss of a "cosmic empire" just around the corner, if one looks for it. There aren't many changes to the songs, outside of adding some rewind effects to Living In The Material World (to give the impression of tape loops) and adding some reverb to the title track, which gives it some depth.
