- I used my GoPro Hero 10 to film my batting innings during my village cricket match against Spalding Cricket Club. A really solid performance today at a picturesque village cricket ground. Felt a lot better today than I've felt in a while.

@@canyoucricket Yes I played for a club called Northern Academy CC (Based in South Africa, Limpopo, Polokwane) This was about 2 to 3 years ago (2018-2020) but as a varsity team which I as a varsity student played for. Had about 8 good teams where we had league games. Unfortunately we made it till Semi finals and lost. So refreshing watching you play with some amazing players out there Gareth!

Hey mate, been seeing you are struggling in connecting the flick shot towards square and fine leg. Try to play a little bit straighter at the start of the innings. More towards mid wicket. You will later get the confidence to play it fine. Good innings never the less 👍🏼

Fun to watch the videos. I feel quite often early on that you struggle to rotate the strike and get some singles. Easy to say when we only see a small aspect. From previous experience if you can get early singles makes the bowler try harder and open up those deliveries to put away.

I'm reasonably new to the channel,and as an old cricketer I'm enjoying the first person point of view during your batting...it's easier judging the ball live,but I try to play my own shots each ball to see if I would have played it differently(which is rather hard being a left handed batter...different line to play)
Anywho,just wondering what position you normally play in the field? Obviously hard to view with the stationary camera,but are you normally in the ring or the outfield?

When you run between the wickets, do you try and keep your head still as you run? Knowing that you’ve got the go-pro on and all that weight, literally on your head?
Not at all. It probably looks that was because the GoPro I use has a brilliant stabilizer 👌

Just got back, replied to the last vid about going too hard too soon. I didn't need to say it, this was Much better.
When you advance the seamer, it's to change the length yes. But, what shots are you trying to open up? eg, 'the bowler is hitting 4th stump at just short of a length. I will advance so I can make it 'pitched up' & take advantage of the gap at cover.' Are you advancing to hit certain gaps, or just to put the bowler off?
Basically trying to hit the ball down the ground 👌
