I'm so happy you had success this year with the Korean melon 🍈 I love it ❤ I grew some this year for the 1st time, and the rabbits 🐇 ate everyone. I may try again next year. Tfs, my dear friend 😊💓

Congratulations on melon success! I don't remember where I learned this tip for saving cucurbit fruit seeds but it works perfectly in about 3 days. Just put the seeds and the stringy stuff around seeds in a jar of tap water and put a lid loosely on the jar, set aside near the sink so you can watch it. It will get fizzy looking and the seeds will start dropping to the bottom of the jar, the stringing stuff will float and you can lift it off and put it in your compost. Then rinse seeds and spread out on newspaper, brown paper to dry. Be sure you keep dry and don't cover or you'll end up with accidental germination like I did with my spaghetti squash recently.
I think your big peppers are works of art, so beautiful! I started watching Hollis and Nancy about 8 years ago when they still lived up north. I think the Korean radish video from about 8 years ago is the first one I watched. I have learned a lot of gardening tips over the years from them. I love how well they work together and fish together too!
I also been meaning to tell you that I emailed you on 9-14-24 and wondering if you got it or if it went in your spam folder.

    Good job Que
I am glad you enjoyed it. I put my seeds in a wire strainer and run the water over them as I separate the seeds from the pulp. When I can't get all the pulp from that method I pour them on a plate and continue to take the pulp off. Then I let them dry and then bag them up. In my seed packages. Hope this helps you. Have a wonderful day 😊

Thank you kindly for the seed advice😊. I ended up finding a video by Hollis explaining how he saved his Korean melon seeds. He started like you and then put them in a mason jar of water for 3 days. That separated the thin pulp that floated to the top with the bad seeds. The good seeds settled at the bottom. After that, he put them on a plate to dry before packaging. Mine are now soaking until Wednesday ❤.
