Depending on what you choose for your board (thickness) the measurements will vary slightly. Based on a 8.5 inch board make your hole 1.5 inches in diameter and center it on your piece 2 inches from the top. Your cut angle will vary slightly if you choose to use a longer or shorter board. Anywhere from 35-45°. Width doesn't matter but thickness and height will. Hope that helps!

Nice simple project...looks great...a quick tip to...when staining end grain if you apply some clear oil first to the end grain...it won't absorb so much of the stain and will be the same color as the rest of the project. Looking forward to more of your vids...

great video and great job! if there was one thing i could have added it would have been to include some more details like the size of the forstner bit and the grit of the sandpaper you used (unless it was the same 220 grit you used for the edges) for the face and maybe some dimensions of the wood.
    keep it up!

Does it matter where the hole is, does it need to be exact for proper balancing?

The tool youre looking for is called a "Brace," which enables you to use two hands to turn a drill bit.

I have a large one that doesn’t float that leans against the wall. It’s about 16” wide and about 6’ tall has about 24 holes in it that are about 3” apart. Can you make this?

If you angle the hole at 45 degrees, the wine bottle will be held parallel to the surface.

Wouldn't it also easier if we cut jus one end with the 45 degree .....it's not always necessary to cut both ends ...I think cus it'll be standing in jus one end btw....
