      @paulhawboldt6289 Hey Paul, thanks so much! I don’t really know what they are selling for…I haven’t really put them out there like that yet. I just made these for the video and occasionally give them out as gifts. Reach me on Instagram Curtis_made_it or send me an email with your mailing address and I’ll make sure you get one from the video. I appreciate you supporting this channel my friend 🤝

    Made 4 of these and found they were not too easy to balance - especially when not full.
    So I changed the length to 300 mm & the thickness to 45 mm. A 40 mm hole is drilled 190 mm from the bottom. Both ends are cut at a 33 dgree angle.
    They are rock-solid - even with an empty bottle!

      @fontybits Hey, good morning Loch, thanks for stopping by and leaving your feedback here. I apologize that I didn't give the best set of measurements in this video. This was my first attempt at making them after seeing the idea on the internet some time back and I think quite obviously (at least to you), I didn't get the best solution. I like that you re-tooled and came up with a better alternative and came back to let me know, this is super cool of you. I'll definitely be giving your method a shot and I'll come back to let you know how they turned out. I'm pretty excited and optimistic to try these again now! Thanks my friend, let's get back to making some more saw dust! Be careful. I appreciate your time and support here 🤝

      @@CurtisMadeIt Hey Curtis, opinions are like butts - everyone has one! I thought I'd share the specs which worked perfectly for me. I gave one of my first attempts (25-30 mm thick) to a friend's wife, and she commented that she found it difficult to balance. That's when I went back to the "drawing board." 😃 Maybe someone will even improve on that. Have a great day.
      p.s. My pine wood shows some beautiful knots which really add to beauty of the bottle holder.

    Is it ok to drill the hole anywhere down the length of the board?

    • @CurtisMadeIt
      @CurtisMadeIt  ปีที่แล้ว +2

      @3AMREVIEWS Apologies for the delay in my reply...I was out of town for the Labor Day weekend and didn't have a reliable internet connection.
      Short answer is yes, you can. You are going to have to experiment though. On the longer boards, you can use a large wine bottle and flip the board over so you can use both sides to display...I think I like this way the best. The shorter ones can accommodate either a large bottle and/or a small bottle on opposing sides...this is the experimentation part. You are going to have to dial it in to find out exactly what you want, but this is a fun project with results that are sure to make a fantastic gift or be a hot seller in the right market. Let me know how else I can help. I'm on instagram curtis_made_it. Talk to you again soon my friend 🤝

      @@CurtisMadeIt Been watching a few videos on how to make them and seeing lots of variations. Thanks for the tips!

      @3AMREVIEWS Okay, okay. Good. Do your research. Find out what you think will work best and give it a shot. Learn some stuff. Dial it in. Make some new ones. This is how we do it. Be careful.

    Angle of the hole doesn’t matter. Drill it 90*, still works fine.

      @codacreator6162 Hey Coda, thanks so much! I saw this comment when you posted it about a month ago and have been pretty continually thinking about it since then. I've been working on two very large very custom orders for some executives at a Fortune 10 company for the last...like 9 weeks literally that has taken up all of my free time and mental capacity so I haven't had an opportunity to reply to comments as I'd like to, and more importantly at the moment, try out your method here. I really appreciate you taking the time to leave this for me. I'll get around to trying this out pretty soon and if it works, I'm gonna mail you one of the floating wine bottle holders from this video. Thanks for your time, support, and feedback on this channel 🤝 Let's talk again soon.

    never wear gloves when using spinning tools, the blade/bit or whatever is spinning catches the edge of the glove and it is dragging your hand in with it.

    • @CurtisMadeIt
      @CurtisMadeIt  2 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      @Crucklewood Designs Hey C, you are absolutely right, thanks so much for pointing this out. This *must* be your first time on my channel though as you are clearly not yet aware of my lightning quick reflexes and super human strength. I'll grab that blade while its on full power and make it stop instantly!!! Haha, just kidding. I did know the 'no gloves around rotating equipment' rule beforehand, but someone else may not so it's good that you said something. *Some of the stuff I do in my videos is to generate comments and, if I remember correctly, that is exactly what happened here...and clearly it worked. You can see how far off the blade I am so I was taking a calculated risk and a tiny one at that. I sure appreciate your comment here, your time, attention to detail, and your support my friend. Come back and talk to me again down the road.
