Why buy the Harley branded daymaker when you can buy from JW speaker at a better price, as they make it for HD. JW Speaker for the win.
JW Speaker = way better product, A lot of People out there think just because it says Harley Davidson on it or has the badge, that it automatically is the best and that almost never seems 2B the case From Lighting Down 2 tires and Alarm Sirens, there's a lot of better and cheaper options out there. I was in charm with the adaptative led but when i just realized while watching a video of it, you have to switch in the low beam in turns and return to high beam in straight. So basically you have to play more the switches than ever. Just because of the regulation of not to many lights in the same time. But you have to choose, seeing far or in turns. I don't think it's viable option. I will go for the regulare motodemic plug and play one for my r 1200r

Thank you for the useful information. I have a Triumph Speed Triple and I will be replacing the double headlight setup with a Motodemic single setup. This setup also relocates the instrument pod to the top of the fork.
I’m running a j.w. Speaker because it fits from a sportster that got traded in so free yay! Come to find out needed a $35 adapter for the new HD softail. 🤷🏻♂️ still good to go though.
I appreciate the back ground but would have been better to focus what are the differences between the types like adaptive, adaptive 2, evo2 , & ece types
Some cars do have adaptive lighting they turn the light 10 degrees in the direction of travel

With Harley, you have to replace the entire stock fixture with a fixture specifically designed around the LED. -DrewZilla

You should need a 7" diameter unit, but unfortunately, we cannot guarantee fit for a Vulcan. We only have guaranteed fit for Harley models. -DrewZilla

Any suggestions for a quality headlight for an Indian Scout?
The Indian Scout would fall within the category of 'Universal' that Lemmy references in the video. While there isn't an option that was designed specifically for the Scout, the 5 3/4" lights that J.W. Speaker produce would make for a significant upgrade. Specifically, we're talking about the 8690 and 8691. The 8690 would utilize the stock housing, and the 8691 would replace the entire assembly. The best resource to determine if there are any nuances to the installation would be an Indian Scout riders forum, where you'll be hearing from the folks installing these things directly. It's a universal item, so if you have a 5 3/4" headlight, you can replace it with this. It has a Model 8790 connector, so if your Shadow uses that connector, it's 'plug and play'. -DrewZilla

I have been looking to upgrade the headlight on my 2015 Honda Shadow Phantom. Ordered me one and the mounting bracket on my bike doesn't fit it. Do you guys carry a JW Speaker for my bike?

I learned that lesson with amazon too.. When buying from amazon you aren't actually buying from the company even if it says you are. Lots of fake companies impersonating real ones. In my case it was with a Pertronix ignition...

Plastic is inherently wrong. After just a few years it is brittle and breaks into pieces
The real issue with plastic and LEDs is those LEDs have a service life proportional to the temperature they're operated at. For a given light output, you're generally going to see the same waste heat dissipation requirements. If you've got a big ol' cast aluminum heatsink, that heat is gonna be effectively pulled off the emitters. If there's just plastic, it won't, and you'll see degradation over time, or in extreme cases, in use!
Another consideration; that big radiator can't do dick if it's sealed up in a largely airtight housing. It might be beneficial to put some ventilation slots, or perhaps little air scoops and exhausts, to lower the temperature of the unit in use.
