    Finesse. I dont think anyone else on the planet can finesse their way to victory like Hikaru. The constant time pressure and always having a solid plan while mixing defense and offense. Even Magnus gave him a hats off for his bullet championship match against him. We are watching the top master bedazzle us with perfection of their craft. Even the near losses are thrilling and amazing. This is a rare ability and content we are ever so fortunate to be witnessing.

      While I understand your enthusiasm for Hikaru's skills in chess, it's important to approach the topic with a critical lens. While Hikaru Nakamura is undoubtedly a talented player, it's essential to recognize that the world of chess is filled with numerous exceptional players who have also achieved remarkable victories.
      Claiming that Hikaru is the only individual on the planet capable of "finessing their way to victory" is an overstatement. Chess is a game that has seen many great players throughout history, each with their unique strengths and strategies. It is unfair to disregard the accomplishments and abilities of other grandmasters who have made significant contributions to the game.
      Furthermore, while Hikaru's performances may be impressive, it is subjective to claim that they are a rare ability or perfection of craft. Chess is a game of immense complexity, and even the top players experience losses and make mistakes. It is the nature of the game and the competitive environment.
      Lastly, it's important to remember that personal opinions and admiration should be balanced with a critical analysis of the game and its players. While it's exciting to witness thrilling matches, it's equally important to appreciate the diversity and depth of talent within the chess community.
      In conclusion, it is crucial to maintain a balanced perspective when discussing the achievements of any chess player, including Hikaru Nakamura, and acknowledge the broader context of the game.

      @joshinon6980 I'm talking about bullet and queen sacrifices. Don't go off context. It's an opinion and we are all entitled to our own. Objectivity is particularly difficult in judging skills, and laying out a proper methodology in this comments section is simply absurd.

      @@CardenFilmsor Hikaru blundered and the guy just played well

    • @CardenFilms
      @CardenFilms ปีที่แล้ว

      It's possible. I have seen Hikaru lose hundreds of fair games ... amazing games. I have seen him lose to amateurs because of a blunder. Again, fair games. However - These cheated games have patterns and "tells" that are so obvious to experienced players, but they are burnt to the stake if cheating is ever mentioned. So players have to remain quiet. And the cheaters just sit at home thinking they are outsmarting everyone, when they merely just annoying everyone. The main tells - They (or the computer in this case) don't play the obvious move which is even more winning than the secondary move they play, because they don't want to win too fast. Blunder in the beginning? They won't take it. When they are up, they play at a much lower level... but in a way that doesn't make sense for natural play. It looks like someone playing at the top level while trying to obfuscate what they are doing. Also - in blitz - They let you come after them, but they will always have a correct answer immediately. Humans, however, will hesitate for a millisecond longer if you start playing on the other side of the board. Hikaru was playing all over the board and the moves times were essentially the same. You can know the ideas your opponent might play, but not nesaccerily in what order. With humans, we can play very fast but you will also sense hesitation (hesitation that feels correctly parsed) when the position changes significantly. Playing at a high level and blundering in a complex position makes sense - and is how humans play. However, strangling your opponent into a dead lost position, then playing strange waiting moves (when there are clear winning ideas) in the latter part of the game, then only going for an insane combo kill when there is 20 seconds left that looks suspiciously pre-moved (because the position has been so juiced) is one of many ways that humans with engines play. Kinda funny how your profile picture looks like the exact source image for the tiger drawing background on the guys chess profile page (same angle of the tiger and expression). Strange, but I'll chalk it up to coincidence. You a brother of his? Parent? Seems like he is just a kid from his appearance in this thread.

    I'm curious how long it takes for Hikaru to "erase" the habit of playing poorly (Queen Sacrifice) from his memory. The subconscious brain takes some time to un-learn such behaviors, even when they are done on-purpose (and maybe doing such poor moves on-purpose is even more difficult to eradicate from the brain). This is obviously something that he has learned how to switch ON and OFF, but it still will take the human brain some time to acclimate after such exercises. My guess is that he never plays such games as these the day before an important event. I'm curious if he has ever noticed any bad side effects from "playing poorly" even (or especially when) with intent. - j q t -

      I think this is an interesting take, but the only deliberately bad move is the sac itself, and other than that he is certainly banking on really sound chess principles paired with otherworldly accuracy..
      The sac also comes with pretty intense shock value that throws people entirely off their own preparation.. opening theory can be great for the intermediates because their first few moves are essentially good positions curated by grandmasters, but fending for yourself, trusted to create some winning position out of thin air within a minute, vs hikaru, lol, they don’t stand a chance
