  • To better compete with the upcoming Boeing 777-8 Freighter, Airbus has increased the payload of its own A350F set to launch in 2026. This is the companies first entry into the next generation of freighters and their own attempts at cancelling out Boeing's firm grip on the freight market they've had for a considerable period.

      777F’s are still being produced and will continue to be made, likely through 2027. Boeing just needs the 777-8F capable of delivery beginning in 2028.

      I've had this weird feeling that Boeing either will never deliver the 777X or that it will do so even later than is currently projected by 1-3 years. I hope I'm wrong.

    The only real advantage of A350F is lighter 'operating empty' weight than competition. We'll see lots of old 777s & A330s converted to freighter form in years to come, so don't see a huge market for brand new freighters.

      @@evaluateanalysis7974 The cabin width of the A350 is smaller than an MD-11. 222 vs 225 inches. Not only that but the floor level of the A350 is higher up in the fuselage than the MD-11. There is no way the A350 has a larger cargo envelope than an MD-11 nor a 777. This is probably the reason why Airbus has not yet publicly released the cross section details of the A350F.

    Generally speaking freight operators seem to largely prefer the 777X. Maybe unlike in the passenger market, they really want the biggest plane that can carry as much cargo as possible in one flight - the hub and spoke model is very much how they work.

Both A350 and 787 use the same style composite materials for the frame itself with metal strips. That's how they both can achieve higher cabin pressure and was the crux of the paint problem along the structure. It was done way back in 2007.

    What Airbus has done with narrowbody aircraft, Boeing has been doing in the freighter sector for decades, which is offering a diverse fleet to meet almost every need from small, midsize to large. Airbus will never catch Boeing here, especially since there are now talks about a P2F conversion for the 787. Once that goes into market, it will definitely outperform the A350F

      @ViktorFromDK ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Shall we talk about what Airbus did the last around 50 years? Remember Boeing where the dominant factor in the narrowbody market too untill Airbus came with the A320

    • @sainnt
      @sainnt ปีที่แล้ว +2

      @@ViktorFromDK You're basically repeating what I said. Airbus has dominated the narrowbody sector, and Boeing has dominated the widebody and cargo sectors.
      The formulas that Airbus is winning with in the narrowbody sector are Boeing and McDonnell Douglas designs. Boeing had the 707, 727 and 737 with the 3-3 configuration, and The Mad Dogs were 2-3 configurations. Airbus started with a widebody, and the success of the 737 and 757 led to the A320 series. Bombardier saw how successful the Mad Dogs were when they designed the C Series, especially since Boeing decided not to build a replacement for the 717.
      These planemakers improved on designs and formulas that already existed. Airbus fans can scream about fly-by-wire, and that's fair, but Airbus has been cashing in on other people's ideas for a long time.
