Thats a very nice specimen of a Range Rover. It's pretty gangsta. ~~ one nice thing about this wuhan plague is that i get to take off and watch youtube. if you can't tell, i'm binge watching. :)
Good video. I have a 2013 Sport Supercharged with 105k miles. I'm not defending Range Rover, but it has generally held up. No engine check lights, the interior generally looks as it did when new (when clean anyway) and I'm not aware of any feature that has quit working. It still rides great and has retained most of its power. Overall, it pretty much runs and looks like it did when new (subject to a couple of minor cosmetic issues that are not the car's fault). In seven years, I have never had to take it in service other than annual scheduled maintenance and it has never failed except when the battery died (that cost $450 to replace by the way). There have been some electronic quirks however. For example, there was a short period when the hatch would randomly open in after it had been parked for a couple of hours (???). The major downside (and by major I mean catastrophic) is that the trade in value is $11-12k and I paid $72.5 for it new seven years ago. I actually thought I got a good deal (ha!). Also annual maintenance is very expensive, but of course I expected that when I bought it. Gas mileage goes without saying albeit that I generally get combined 16 mpg (I drive like a grandpa). I would not buy it again simply because my financial priorities have changed as I have gotten older, but overall I have to say it has held up my end of the bargain. It is a good luxury car that is great for roadtrips and for doing site seeing on some mild offroad nature trails. It also gives you a lot of confidence driving in snow and bad conditions. I intend to keep it simply because it is a much more vehicle than I could possibly replace for its value although that is a bit of a gamble. Hopefully someone thinking of a Range Rover will read the book I just wrote and find it helpful.
Yes that was awesome haha commenters like yourself are a massive help to the community definitely helping out those who are interested in buying a rover. Thank you for stopping by
Finally from a real rr sport owner of this era. I have thought about these 2011s-2013s from carmax. They run about 20k to 30k depending on mileage. I may want a v8 which is horrible on gas. Here in the midwest winters, this would be a perfect car. Maintenance is on my mind too, I've owned bmws so i understand these things aint no fords or toyotas. Tires, oil, etc are just expensive. Its nice to hear from an owner
By default, the sheer length of this comment immediately made me skip it, but then, I had to come back and read it through anyway because I genuinely would be buying one really soon. And I'm glad I came back. Tnx.
I own a 2013 Autobiography RRS. Bought it from a dealer at 80k miles for $30k. The original sticker was $96k. I’ve had only one problem . I had to replace the front suspension cans which was pricey. I love this SUV. Everyone who rides in it loves it too. The entertainment system sounds amazing.
I love how the only people that talk about how unreliable they are, are the people that have never owned one. If you maintain them properly especially the 5.0s are super reliable. I’ve owned 2 with high mileage
Just bought one of these…2012 in Fuji white , 34 k miles , full main dealer history, full spec inc sunroof and heated wheel and in as new condition was previously owned by a collector…cannot believe what I’ve have bought ….it has been fitted with a sports exhaust and sounds like thunder……what a car ….new price £65,000 I paid £22,000.00 still trying to get my head around it …..Greetings from West Sussex , UK.

I test drove it yesterday and wow. I was shocked at the power this thing has and I have a 2017 camaro ss and I was still shocked. The low end torque is incredible. Threw me back on my seat every time! It looks like it has a smaller pulley on the SC so maybe its pushing more PSI

@@MeynMotorGroup that doesn't mean they are unreliable though, just potentially expensive to run - could argue that would also be wear and tear. Service regularly and the parts don't come around until high milage. I currently run a (low mileage tbf - 22k miles) 5.0 Supercharged and it hasn't cost me a penny apart from the horrendous fuel costs (which I try to ignore, especially as I don't live in the US:)
Actually that is kind of true I know someone with an F30 328i BMW and he has 120k on it and he is just now starting to replace parts on it. It is def true if you treat a car right it will treat you right but idk everyone has had such crazy ownership experiences like I know a guy that bought a new Corolla and the trans went out. No car is perfect and that's kind of why I always suggest a warranty. I'm super happy your supercharged rover is holding up because I loved this thing, drives great and looks phenomenal inside out. Really impressed with how it aged and I'm happy that you appreciate the review my friend. Enjoy your Rover and keep me updated on that sweet ride 👍
2010 Range Rover Sport Supercharged 160k miles owner here. No issues other than regular high mileage car stuff.... brakes, starter, recharge AC. Just do the regular maintenance and you'll be fine. These vehicles were made to be driven hard.
A body on frame supercharged monster... That font is trademark from RR and in my opinion is the best thing about the styling. Amazing to see a Range Rover who's major fault is a faulty auto roll window Jaguar V8s were good engines there's that. if it was a BMW 4.4 or 4.8.... run away. fast.
Oh wow I did not know that about the Font looks so basic but good at the same time but makes sense since it is their logo lol. Oh yea V8 BMWs is where the problems begin. I too have heard that Jag V8s are surprisingly good
Thanks for your insight. As a current owner of this vehicle i can say it is a great driving experience and the driver window not being automatic is definitely sus
That thing has some serious presence. I will say that for 140k miles that interior is looking really nice. Even more impressive considering it is white.
I got this exact model with around 40k miles. I have had it for 3 years. We had to replace the timing chain which cost around $5k. Other than that, it hasn't been problematic. Luxurious car inside and out, massive performance from the 5.0l engine and a monster off road. It is an all in one. Range Rovers tick all the boxes more than any other car. It is a high performance luxury car so like the S Class, be prepared to have money on hand to keep it up.
I had my hands on one as an insurance rental, seriously it was FREE TO ME, for a couple days. I still wouldn’t own one knowing the cost of maintenance but HOLY GOD do they drive nice. Though I gotta say, if you want to actually own something that feels similar but is much easier to work on? 2000s Eddie Bauer Explorer gets you a lot of the way there. I dated a girl who owned a 2003 Explorer Centennial Edition (EB Package plus nicer leather interior) and it was about 80% of the way to how the Rover handled. (I dated her much longer than I ought to have because A. I bonded with her dog; and B. I liked that truck! 😂😂😂)
Hey thanks so much for stopping by my friend so I actually just did a review on a 2017 RX350 if you are interested! Those videos don't get many views however
Nice vehicle, if I can afford to own few vehicles I would definitely think of owning a range rover. But being a middle class person I prefer Japanese vehicles.
Oh yea I definitely understand I love the appeal of these but warranty is a must for sure on these cars. Can't ever go wrong with a Japanese vehicle tho
Somebodys said:their only real issue is the air suspensjon?? Have you ever had an other car with air suspensjon? If you try an mercedes airmatic or otheir cars with air suspensjon the usually need replacement or work way earlier than an rr. And not cheap to fix either. ..
No but a 2011 Range Rover Supercharged is available with less mileage 87k for about $15k also qualifies for a warranty. A 2014 range rover sport HSE is also available for $26k
Good, informative review. Land Rover was in the hands of Ford at the time of this vehicle's design and I think they had some influence in the dumb-looking font. The driver's window switch needs to be repaired, all windows are express up and down. This particular vintage of Range Rover Sport is based on the Discovery platform (LR3/LR4). It is a unibody on frame design that explains the excessive weight. The current RR Sport moved to the Range Rover platform.
It would be awesome if you did a review on an older Touareg. I saw one in the background of this video but on their website it says it was only a V6. It would be cool to see how one of the V8s or V10 TDIs held up with high mileage.
If I could find a V10 diesel, then no doubt haha but I don't think they had those here in the states. I did a Cayenne review 2016 with the VR6 engine. Thanks again my friend for watching
Ahh gotcha yea I would love to If I find one closest thing to that car Ive reviewed is the GLE 43. I like Mercedes very quiet and comfortable in the class. Interior is not the best in terms of fit and finish if that is important to you
Got to love a Range Rover ❤ 😊 I just got the new diesel super charge with the turbo.. I cannot believe how good it is on gas.. and every feature is really well executed. My only problem is the sunroof and the screen,😢 it only opens from the front to the back and it just doesn't serve the driver.. or the passengers it should have been in two parts. It should have opened back to front or front it's into pieces. But it's really ridiculous how useless it actually is. Add a discovery with two separate sunroofs front and back and it was a much more practical useful option to have two. This the Range Rover sport sunroof is really disappointing.. otherwise incredible vehicle so much improved over the last model. 😁👍💕
You spent a lot of time talking bad about the vehicle, this is by far the best vehicle on the road no room for negotiation, very high quality and advanced vehicle
Thanks! And they don't really care but I'm super respectful with other people's properties so dealer cars I never drive more than 15 miles for a review no need for much more than that
Ha- I really like the clock and gauge font! Clock looks like one of the Swiss railroad clocks. That is probably the best 140k interior I’ve ever seen. Overall actually seems better laid out/more thoughtful and comfortable than the next gen one.
Haha yea styling is always subjective but I can see the appeal in it as well I appreciate how logically layed out everything is and super easy to read. Yea that interior blew me away as well also felt like a new car to drive. I'm curious to try the new one I know they went to an all aluminum design similar to Jag shaving 700 pounds but I'm not a fan of the new Land rover dual screen thing they have going on. Thanks again Richard for stopping by I appreciate your support!
I love my 2012 RRS Lux its so beautiful and comfortable .... yes she is expensive to maintain but thats not problem for me. Do not buy if your ballin on a budget cause it will be the end of you. I named mine Bertha
Great review as always. I really agree, however I had to think hmmmm when you talked about the off-road settings. I hope that if I ever get a chance to drive one of these I could get to see what it’s like off road. Still glad that it can handle well on-road. I know what you mean, Lexus isn’t (always) everything. European cars have character that’s hard to beat.
Thank you again for your support sir yea I do think it's legitimately capable you see it being showcased on programs like Top Gear all the time. I do appreciate the confidence on and off road. Thanks again for supporting the content my friend
Loved the review I have the same truck. Pretty good on the beach just VERY VERY HEAVY takes a lot of work to get through the sand especially with perellis, if anyone were to put thick tires on this car is would be unbelievable
Range Rovers like this Sport need to be reclaimed by men. These things are made for off road. Women who use them for daily drivers and running errands are wasting what these things were made to do.
Fun Range Rover fact: Christopher Moltisanti’s Range Rover was stolen by some drug dealers while he was trying to score an eight of smack. They took his Cartier watch as well and gave him a beating. They had an intervention after Adriana told Tony he beat the shit outta her.
Exhaust Sports Auto hahaha yes. Great review btw, friend. I’ve always been curious about these vehicles. The rear passenger space looks a little disappointing for a three ton behemoth but that interior looks as tight as a brand new car. The Biggest complaints I’ve heard about these from people that have owned one are that the air suspensions eventually give out. But that can be said for any vehicle equipped with an air suspension , even Lexus air suspensions.
Hey thank you so much I'm humbled by that and yes I too was curious about these cars. Yea Air suspension will get ya it does ride amazing but will give out. Head gaskets, electronics, the horn there is a myriad of problems with these things but I would definitely search for an aftermarket warranty for this no matter how expensive
Oh yea I definitely know your feelings haha you can't get a warranty from Cary Imports for this vehicle but might be able to get an aftermarket warranty but I'm sure it would be very expensive thanks again for your support my friend
Respectfully mate, I have no idea what you are talking about because I've had this specific model and year for years and they are so UNRELIABLE. The only thing I agree with is that they are fun to drive so I still keep mine for pleasure driving on weekends only. I will even think twice before traveling in it for over 70 straight miles. As soon as it gets to 100k miles, sell it(if you have one) or don't buy it(if looking for a new vehicle), else it will turn into a money pit. I have a mechanic who has a lot of them in his shop for the same issue - OVERHEATING, burnt gasket. You cannot drive a car for a few minutes or even hours and make a short video recommending it to people. Ask anyone that actually owns one for their honest review and they will tell you. I love range rovers, I've had different models but after certain miles, get rid of them. I would never consider that car at 140k miles, even if it cost less than 10k dollars or pounds unless you just want to keep it for pleasure driving as I do.
Totally correct, if you don’t have the budget for covering the maintenance and service costs or if you cannot do the work yourself, any european luxury car IS NOT for you! If you insist on Honda or Toyota reliability, buy a Honda or Toyota. If you trade cars often and require high resale values ... pass on a Rover. You have been warned! That being said, these old Rover give you a level of comfort, power, towing, off-road capabilities, and ride in a package that still small enough to enjoy driving and is easy to park. To get to this level in another make, your going to be looking at top trim level Cadillac Escalade, Chevy Suburban and Ford Expeditions ... which still are not vastly cheaper when bought new and are likely more expensive when purchased used (the maintenance cost will always bring down values on used European makes) and each are much larger SUVs that are much less fun to drive (in my opinion). People who love them ... LOVE THEM and put up with the issues as part of the experience.
Yep don't but without a warranty which are obviously expensive on these cars but still you gotta get one. Driving this was awesome tho I'm just surprised how well this has held up
@@MeynMotorGroup I get you but its more so with some brands than with others. Okay, Im biased as a Lexus fan but chances are there have been major mechanical issues with the Range Rover as compared to a Lexus or Honda of the same age for example. Nice work by the way, I enjoy your channel.
Haha if it keeps aging like this I guess it could but I would be careful and make sure to pay up for the warranty for this car but it is amazing Range Rovers are not like Jags these Rovers use far more quality materials
People love making jokes about it but under warranty these things are a lot of fun and offer a driving experience Japanese cars simply can't and many people who have the means will pay the price to have that experience. It's a short life we live anyway
Great cars but buyer beware of timing chain and guide failures. They often grenade these engines. At that point the car is not worth the cost of replacing the engine. Great car but only buy if you can pay cash and could handle the gamble of a mechanically totaled vehicle at any point. Until then you have an amazing machine in every way.
Those 3rd party high mileage old car warranties are a gamble In themselves. Be prepared to be denied coverage if you can’t prove every single oil change, coolant flush, transmission etc. also the warranties max out the value of the vehicle at best case some even less. If your lucky enough to have a full engine replacement warranty honored most likely they would just cash you out at the blue book value. A warranty might give some peace of mind but it’s not bullet proof. You really need to be able to finically handle a total loss on these vehicles. not saying that’s a terrible thing they sell super cheap these days.
@@wewilltravelsoon2237 Are you saying this model/year doesn’t have timing chain guide issues. Metal and plastic guides all are showing issues. And how is it not an expensive repair that can mechanically total the car?

I’m not really an SUV fan period... but damn! This would make a sweet plow rig!😉
I'm not an SUV person either haha but I love this thing I definitely see the appeal now. Thanks again for stopping by my friend
Can you please review a ml63 I’m trying to buy one but I can’t find a lot of info on them
Ahh gotcha yea I would love to If I find one closest thing to that car Ive reviewed is the GLE 43. I like Mercedes very quiet and comfortable in the class. Interior is not the best in terms of fit and finish if that is important to you
The very last of the great Range Rovers...
Great review! Did you manage to test the next newer gen RRS yet? Pretty sure you'd be even more impressed!
Not yet but I might have an opportunity to in the future
Want to get a 3.0 HSE diesel 2010 range rover sport with over 89000miles ,guess that's not bad?
You spent a lot of time talking bad about the vehicle, this is by far the best vehicle on the road no room for negotiation, very high quality and advanced vehicle
Calm down freak
Good review. How long did they let you drive it?
Thanks! And they don't really care but I'm super respectful with other people's properties so dealer cars I never drive more than 15 miles for a review no need for much more than that
@@MeynMotorGroup I agree. Keep up the good work.
Thank you my friend!
Cheers Big Kev!
You as well sir!
I love them. Always wanted one.
Ive heard the performance land rovers are the more reliable ones
Great Cars!
Great video. Why did you insert random videos of a Range Rover Supercharged climbing hills? Totally different vehicle.
It's all I could find lol they all pretty much look the same
Bro why are you showing lips of l322 - full size model?
I remember that haha his black rover he got that after his LS he couldn't afford to keep adriana in tennis practice lol
I would love to buy a Range Rover awesome looking car. Soooo scare of any problems that may occur with this brand. Super Risky... Great video 📹
Oh yea I definitely know your feelings haha you can't get a warranty from Cary Imports for this vehicle but might be able to get an aftermarket warranty but I'm sure it would be very expensive thanks again for your support my friend
@@MeynMotorGroup I will correct you on that Kevin. I can get customers a warranty but they will be pricey.
I will make a pin comment addressing that thank you Garrett
It has been corrected and pinned to the top
You really want to use both hands when punching it off the line and turning in these vehicles.
Wow that’s nice a Range Rover is my dream car lol
Driving this was awesome tho I'm just surprised how well this has held up
Which company/companies would you recommend for a warranty?
word it drives!
Yup haha
Thanx bro 👍🏾
Thank you my friend for your continued support!
Exhaust Sports Auto no problem bro and wish u continued success 🙏🏾 I’m a exhaust sports auto lifer 👍🏾
What can I say I'm tremendously humbled by that and can't thank you enough! I appreciate it and please do take care!
Exhaust Sports Auto thanx 🚗👍🏾
16k damn, these are like still 50-70k used where I am.. .
@A S Australia
I want one of these but i really shouldnt lmao
Dude Count:
13 DUDES
That's it?
Like like like..... when they have the like championship please enter.
That made no sense
Probably works cause its newly replaced. LOL. I doubt everything is factory fitted. Highly unlikely. LOL.
That's kinda how it is with any car..
@@ThaboMashiloane ok but try driving an rx50 on the snow. It's useless
Hey bro you think it could surpass 200k
Haha if it keeps aging like this I guess it could but I would be careful and make sure to pay up for the warranty for this car but it is amazing Range Rovers are not like Jags these Rovers use far more quality materials
@@MeynMotorGroup okay thanks
when your eyes are older you will get the dumb font
diff story at 180k
Why would you want it loud? Go buy a mustang if you want a loud obnoxious vehicle to draw attention...
Don't cry ok
Land Rover slogan the constant pursuit of the next idiot
People love making jokes about it but under warranty these things are a lot of fun and offer a driving experience Japanese cars simply can't and many people who have the means will pay the price to have that experience. It's a short life we live anyway
hmm
Great cars but buyer beware of timing chain and guide failures. They often grenade these engines. At that point the car is not worth the cost of replacing the engine. Great car but only buy if you can pay cash and could handle the gamble of a mechanically totaled vehicle at any point. Until then you have an amazing machine in every way.
Needs a warranty basically
Those 3rd party high mileage old car warranties are a gamble In themselves. Be prepared to be denied coverage if you can’t prove every single oil change, coolant flush, transmission etc. also the warranties max out the value of the vehicle at best case some even less. If your lucky enough to have a full engine replacement warranty honored most likely they would just cash you out at the blue book value. A warranty might give some peace of mind but it’s not bullet proof. You really need to be able to finically handle a total loss on these vehicles. not saying that’s a terrible thing they sell super cheap these days.
You know nothing about this year and model 😂😂😂 do your research
@@wewilltravelsoon2237 Are you saying this model/year doesn’t have timing chain guide issues. Metal and plastic guides all are showing issues. And how is it not an expensive repair that can mechanically total the car?
If I can’t do a women at back seat I don’t wanted even you pay me
Yeah, "everything's working.. FOR NOW. " Good luck for furture longevity.
