I’m 69 yrs old.. the Beatles woke me up in mid sixties..Yardbirds..Cream..British invasion really spoke to me…Jeff Beck stood out to me from the beginning..I’m digging out my old albums…RIP..JB…sad days..
For me, he was the quintessential rock guitarist. He had the look, God knows he had the chops and he was fearless about doing what he thought was best instead of staying mainstream. I cried like a baby when I learned of his passing. He was force since the late 60s.
This is so heartbreaking. Jeff was a mighty genius of guitar playing. I loved the Yardbirds from the 60’s and have always admired and loved Jeff Beck. What a huge loss to the music world. We will never forget you Jeff, we can still listen to your awesome music. Thanks for bringing joy through your music to millions.
Jeff is my all time favorite guitarist and I was lucky to work with him a couple of times when he had the Jeff Beck Group with Rod Stewart and Ronnie Woods. I’ve seen him play a bunch of times since. There is no other like him IMHO and I, like many, am truly heartbroken and devastated. 😞
@coogan8825 wrong, they were contemporaries 50 years ago, Jeff arguably better then with his Yardbirds work, the figure in Over Under Sideways Down better than anything Jimi ever recorded, but 50 more years on of innovative mastery...no, that's a nonsensical Rolling Stone myth not supported by any professional guitarist worth his salt. No hate against Jimi, I love his work, but it's not comparable 50 years later, no way.
@coogan8825 lol, Jeff was always the nicest guy when talking about other guitarists, you're deluded by the Myth, over played professionally for 40 years, anyone can cover Hendrix, nobody can replicate Jeff's technique, live in your ignorance dunce cap.
@coogan8825 hilariously ignorant, Blow by Blow, Wired, There and Back, Who Else, Guitar Shop, You Had it coming, no comparison, Jimi was a singer with a guitar and he could play it well, Jeff was the best to ever pick one up and it's absolutely ridiculous to even compare a guy that died 50 years ago with the Master Alchemist of Guitar.
@coogan8825 your hero wouldn't make a professional guitarists top 20, I know I've been one for 40 years, covering Hendrix was never difficult, covering Beck is impossible. LMAO at your ignorance, The Rolling Stone Myth is laughable, perpetuated by non guitarists.
He was a one of a kind Genius Virtuoso who spanned genres and generations with music like no other could play or arrange.. Proper tragic and unexpected loss for every music fan.. Admired and respected by all his peers he was at the top of the tree with Clapton and Page and those guys back then and he had ALL his virtuosity right up until his untimely passing.. The angels will be playing Guitars not Harps this time and he can teach em a thing or two im sure! God Bless Jeff Beck and RIP. (Rock in Paradise!) 😔💔🎸🏴🇬🇧✝️🙏
Goodbye friend. 😔😔 The world has lost a great human being who, in addition to being an exceptional guitarist, was a kind human being, very polite to me and everyone who had the blessing of meeting him. Rest in peace left millions of admirers sad. My condolences to family and friends you were a genius! An admirable human being, sensitive in his chords. Thank God I met you 3 times. See you next time Together with the Eternal where you are. Amen 🙏 🙏
As a kid when I dropped the needle on blow by blow I've been a huge fan, so glad I saw his mastery live. Thanks JB you were ahead of your time and stayed true to yourself.
Inspired every band I've been in since 1980, still love the Yardbirds and he bought me a pint and when he walked up to the bar in St Moritz club , London. Still cant believe he's gone.
Been following him for over 50 years. This is a tough one to take. Just watched his tribute to les Paul with Amelda may last week. Ronnie Scott's just before that.
.. my first album of Jeff Beck was the live with Jan Hammer .. blew my mind .. Jimi and Janis were long gone and I thought then this is it, Jeff Beck is my new hero
I was fortunate to see Jeff Beck in November 2022 in Las Vegas. I figured it might be the last chance to see him. Even at 78, he was a virtuoso on the guitar. One of a kind.
The BBA Live in Japan album is so friggin' SICK. Carmine's playing is off the chain, Jeff Beck sounds better on this album than ever, and Tim is tearing up the bass like a maniac.
R.I.P. Jeff Beck. He and Tommy Bolin are my top 2 favorite guitarists. It's not right that they are gone, but that's life, as sucky as it is sometimes. J.I.P. (Jam In Peace) boys.
A True American Pioneer of the Fender Stratocaster who could coax Sonic Blisteringly Heart pounding Riffs & Stunningly Scorching Solos A GENTLEMAN Genuine Guitarslinger Rest in PEACE with Jimi Hendrix Stevie Ray Vaughan and Countless other Fantastic Musicians in Heaven
As far as we were concerned, The Yardbirds were it in our Detroit neighborhood. I remember having that logo scrawled on my Jr. HS desk and notebooks. LOL
Jeff Beck was a Brilliant Guitarist. Saw Him in 1980. In Portland. He was a great. To Bad He never surrendered His Talent to the God that Gave Him the ability. We are here for short time then Gone. God Almighty s will is that His creature would fear Him and love Him. About five years after seeing Beck I was in a Bar. Drinking Listening to a local Guitar hero. And I saw I was slave to drugs sex and Rock and roll. I wanted freedom I cried out to the Lord Jesus and He delivered me broke my chains set me free. Gave me Brand new Heart that loved Rightousness. Obedience thirty seven years ago .ye must be Bornagain. Enless u be Bornagain you can't see the Kingdom of God. God have Mercy on Jeff. Only through The Lord Jesus can u be Saved.
Hi Dean, hope you are well. Both names were said within the first 60 seconds of the video and Carmine Appice's name, his logo, is on the top right of the screen when he's on. If you didnt get the other name it was Yardbirds ever present member Jim McCarty. Have a great day!
Compare Carmine Apice's story with the Metallica story of the bass disappearing on ...And Justice for All. Jeff Beck.... Stand up person and amazing guitarist. Lars Ulrich..... POS
Do your homework. Jimmy Page was a leading session guitar player, not Jeff. Jeff is the most incredible player, but I hate it when amateurs tell his story and get it wrong :)
I never said Jeff was a "leading session guitar player", I said he was a "session musician" before joining the Yardbirds... which he did do, as Jim McCarty also says. I hate it when amateurs comment on videos and get it wrong :)
@coogan8825 thanks for the advice, I've listened to everything hendrix has played, top to bottom, I love hendrix, we'll agree to disagree. As far as I'm concerned this is a close one for me.
I played rhythm guitar with Jeff Beck for a few months in the late 80's and he taught me a few things. I taught him a few things about bending the G string. We got along well.
I’m 69 yrs old.. the Beatles woke me up in mid sixties..Yardbirds..Cream..British invasion really spoke to me…Jeff Beck stood out to me from the beginning..I’m digging out my old albums…RIP..JB…sad days..
Nice memories to hear about our Jeff Beck
For me, he was the quintessential rock guitarist. He had the look, God knows he had the chops and he was fearless about doing what he thought was best instead of staying mainstream. I cried like a baby when I learned of his passing. He was force since the late 60s.
I'm a metal player and Jeff Beck is in a league of his own. 🙏
Jeff Beck is up there with Hendrix.
All others are also-rans.
Troll Hendrix was never even up there..
The Yardbirds, wow the soundtrack of my teen years. Always loved Jeff Beck's sound, RIP
It gets us all in the end
RIP Jeff Beck

Thanks for this. Music will never be the same since he arrived on the scene.
He was absolutely one of a kind wasn't he! Glad you enjoyed the video.
God may have his soul but we have his music, and that;s enough for me. I shall miss him dearly. Fly on sweet angel.
He was a one of a kind Genius Virtuoso who spanned genres and generations with music like no other could play or arrange..

You were very lucky to meet him! It's a sad loss for the musical world.
He supported a cat charity founded by a former girlfriend.💙🎶🎵🎶
As a kid when I dropped the needle on blow by blow I've been a huge fan, so glad I saw his mastery live. Thanks JB you were ahead of your time and stayed true to yourself.
It's time to revisit those fantastic Yardbirds albums. His guitar work was ahead of all the players.
Been a yardbirds fan for over 40 years. Rip Jeff a guitar genius
Thanks for taking the time. Cool reflections on Jeff and his former colleagues thank you ✌️
I'm heartbroken I grew up in the sixties. Seen him in 76 in the kingdome in Seattle great show followed him through the years, sad, RIP Mr. Beck.
Inspired every band I've been in since 1980, still love the Yardbirds and he bought me a pint and when he walked up to the bar in St Moritz club , London. Still cant believe he's gone.
I LOVED HIM
Jeff ❤
Been following him for over 50 years. This is a tough one to take. Just watched his tribute to les Paul with Amelda may last week.
Ronnie Scott's just before that.
Sure would love to hear the recordings Carmine Appice talks about!
Got to see him five times.

One of my all time favorites!
I think Jeff should have been inducted in the Rock HOF more than twice & sooner than he was. R.I.P. Jeff
I have seen Jeff over 30 times and never disappointed. The notes he played will never be played correctly again. Jeff hopefully we will meet again.
The WORLDS GUITAR GOD,rip jb, the world will miss u!! WE LOVE YOU!! john and raebelle.

He was English

One of.a kind, trully. Rip Jeff
👍🇬🇧❤JEFF'S THE BEST 🎸❤GOD ❤BLESS RIP XOXOXOX
TRES Cool, Mr, Beck
One of the very best! His abilities eclipsed all his English contemporaries. Clapton and Page couldn't hold a candle to Jeff.
He would have said you're exaggerating.
Jeff Beck was a Brilliant Guitarist. Saw Him in 1980. In Portland. He was a great. To Bad He never surrendered His Talent to the God that Gave Him the ability. We are here for short time then Gone. Legend
Jeff ❤
I am just going to pretend he is still alive.
Well his music will live on forever as cliche as that sounds
Jeff was near Hendrix and Clapton.
Cool stuff. Audio not so clear unfortunately but appreciate the effort
👍👍
Why don't you put he names under these guys?
Hi Dean, hope you are well. Both names were said within the first 60 seconds of the video and Carmine Appice's name, his logo, is on the top right of the screen when he's on. If you didnt get the other name it was Yardbirds ever present member Jim McCarty. Have a great day!
Maser Craftsman, he could play anything the others could play but they couldn't do what he could do
Who did johnny depp play with?
Everyone wanted to sound like Beck but they gave up after 5 minutes.
Compare Carmine Apice's story with the Metallica story of the bass disappearing on ...And Justice for All. Jeff Beck.... Stand up person and amazing guitarist. Lars Ulrich..... POS

Greatest Guitarist of all time.
I love em both, but I'm gonna give Beck the edge.
@coogan8825 maybe I should.
@coogan8825 thanks for the advice, I've listened to everything hendrix has played, top to bottom, I love hendrix, we'll agree to disagree. As far as I'm concerned this is a close one for me.
this was lovely

Wow that's very cool Martin!!
