I am not talking about GDP. I am talking about the jobs that are being provided by Corporate Offices. Being a Company Secretary, we are hired by the Corporate Offices of various Companies unless and until the Registered and Corporate Offices are the same. Rohit it's a being challenge for CS in Kolkata as most of the Big Companies are shifting their Corporate Offices outside Kolkata as we are not hired by Branch/ Sales Offices. This should be stopped.

The only firm of repute which still has its HQ in Kolkata.. ITC is a huge company (way bigger than Britannia) and it will be good if they expand in WB... however if Kolkata ever aspires to catch up or overtake Bangalore, the govt needs to do much much more in order to attract MNCs...

If oxigen and water are available plants will itself thrive, there is no surprise. But fact is that, SYNDICATE like parasite on a tree eats the economic into its vital. Another thing is that, before sowing seeds land is prepared and as part of that weeds are removed. All these speaks for itself what is needed to be done in Bengal. One must not be elated mere at the sight of a building, but business environment is too needed.
@@shreyanghosh758 but the same Mamata raised her voice in opposition to proposed SEZ privileges to the Salem Suputra group of industries whom the erstwhile CM Buddhadev Bhattercharjee invited to develop the land. So, Mamata is not firm in her belief, instead ifs and buts and ununiform policies prevail her decisions.

ঠিক কথা। তবে পশ্চিমবঙ্গের ইন্ডাস্ট্রিতেও অন্য রাজ্যের প্রচুর লোক কাজ করেন। আসলে বাজার অর্থনীতি ও কর্পোরেটরা চায় পরিযায়ী শ্রমিক তৈরী হোক। কোনো কোম্পানিই স্থানীয় ছেলেমেয়েদের নিয়োগ করতে চায় না। সেটা কর্ণাটক হোক বা পশ্চিমবঙ্গ। তামিলনাড়ু এত শিল্পোন্নত হওয়া সত্ত্বেও অনেক তামিল লোকেরা কাজের জন্য কর্ণাটকে আছেন। কর্ণাটকের লোকেরা তামিলনাড়ু মহারাষ্ট্রে আছেন। অন্ধ্রের লোকেরা ব্যাঙ্গালোর চেন্নাইএ কাজ করছেন। এটাই বাস্তব।

Please realize that lack of work culture in WB is a huge myth, rather a deliberate slander spread to divert investment specially FDI away from Bengal. Whatever industrial labor issues were seen earlier in WB is now rampant in other centers of growth, and probably less frequent but much more political and violent. Please ask these rumour-mongers as to how many employers, for an example, in their location or state pay out salaries by the 31st of the month. Even their state govts do not intentionally pay on time. They don't borrow from banks, they feed on delayed salary payments to maintain their cash flow. This is unthinkable in WB. Salaries, as per GoI rules,are paid on time. That is the culture some typical Indian investors are afraid of. In WB, rules cannot be broken. Politicians and banks will not collude to generate NPA by providing illegal loans. No loans on Opex, only Capex will qualify, etc.Everyone knows the quality of manpower available in WB. So think twice before defaming WB, in a way by falling into the traps laid out by these forces.
WB does not have the ecosystem to cater to large industries. Land banks are a big issue, work culture regardless of your claims in lacking, political violence and other interventions is rampant.
