For more info, look at the boroughs of London, you'll see very similar shapes in places. Also, general UK city-street layouts would feel very much at home - taking a tile, semi-grid and work with the terrain to fill, and moving onto the next.
I am really disappointed that so many cool maps doesn't make use of the new feature of having custom shaped regions. This is definitely a very important consideration for me when I download maps, I wish there was an easy way to see which maps makes use of it.
@@stumbleskelly It's going OK. One more highway, then I can move on to vegetation. But I haven't worked on it this week and I will wait for next weekend. Since I use mods I want to be sure they were all updated before continuing.
Just looking at the Black Dragon Canyon at least, I like it! An actually hilly map that's also beautiful, that if not flattened, could create quite the interesting cities.
Bookmarking this video for when the asset importer is released, would love to build on new maps but the assets are painfully samey after 150 hours. Power to you for continuing to play man

@@CodiakCitiesThe only one I've looked at is the first one by Dash. It's decent. Not how I would have centered it or the start tile I would have made. I'll have to check the other two but based on the lack of preview Images, they seem pretty low effort I MIGHT make my own Vancouver map one day. But I would be way too picky about the details and it would probably take forever 😂
There needs to be a way to control water levels as it's extremely frustrating to see a city reach 50K, 75., 100K then you decide to terraform to make more space for residential and then your entire city begins flooding, people move out and it's easier just to start a new save.
In Spring Valley the road can only be remove in the map editor but I have no clue how it's made... I have try to find how but no luck so far. If you have any tips to do it, please I will very happy to hear about it
I tried playing VOLCHORIA map and after a while the water disappeared. The map is very interesting and simply a place I want to live. But with this flaw I can’t use the map.
That's a weird bug... can't say ive heard of it happening before. Are you using any other mods, or skyve so you can see if it's spitting out an error for something like water features?
@@CodiakCities I do not have Skyve but i do have the water mod that does streams. I have tried it without that mod and it still happens. Sad it is a very pretty map. th-cam.com/video/l3zMIQE-aBQ/w-d-xo.html
Please could you have shown Black Dragon Canyon in the actual theme? It is a really beautiful map and I think that is how it should be shown. Thank you for showing us these maps!
I guess links are not allowed here - so yes, I still prefer Western Valley map - i think it's the best of maps by TheActualRealChair, or at least equal to another 2 or 3 by that person. I did some comparison of some of the maps on the forums as well, just to give some missing information that almost none of these map pages have. Can't leave a link here, can I?
If you are blocked from posting a link, I have no way to allow it as far as I know. TH-cam has been cracking down on comment links lately so that might be it.
@@CodiakCities ah well... it simply deleted my 2 posts :D:D you can find that list on the forums for cities skylines 2 - More map information - if you were interested. Anyway, great video as usual :) Can't prise you enough hahaha.
45:57 this actually feels divided up like I would expect places here to be, bravo!

Pikeperch (which is one of the extra maps in the description) also has them, although not through the entire map.
@@CodiakCities It really gives the feeling that the city expand by buying up farms that was organically shaped.
Another great video man!! :)
You're just saying that so I keep including your maps /s
My map is now 4 weeks in the making and will have a proper thumbnail when it comes out, so I hope you won't miss it when the time comes.
Seriously a proper thumbnail helps a TON at standing out so thank you!!!
thumbnails go a long for me checking a map or not
hows it going?

What is the name of the intro music? I know it’s from City Planner, but what is the name?
It's Boom Lake from the Northwoods collection!

Map looks incredible with the desert themes as well and I really messed up not showing it with one of them
