I would totally right click to place a cube on top of the current surface. It would turn into a war between people revealing the cube and people covering it.

So basically it's a "free 2 play" lottery? One where you can buy items that improve your chances for actual money. Even the part of him describing how satisfying it is "cleaning" the cube... just sounds like a giant scratch-off ticket to me.
He said himself that they probably won't make any money on it. Also, the fact that they are releasing the data may help the industry with free to play models.
That's a genius marketing strategy to make a shit ton of money for little work. I think I'm going to try that myself. "Hey guys, this is a social experiment. I've got this cardboard box. It's got a fucking awesome secret inside, but everyone has to donate money to me for it to open. Perhaps when you donate enough, I'll show you what's inside". But don't worry guys, it's all for the sake of art and social experimentation. You know, from the great sociologist Peter Molyneux.
Give him 100million and he'll get on it. It's easy to just say random crap on the internet without having to actually put up the resources needed to make something happen.
I know what's in the cube... basically Peter's head appears out of a bright light and laughs at you then his fist comes out of his mouth and reaches out of your iphone and punches you in the face and goes back into the game extending a middle finger, it's innovative in that TRON is now real and then the question of sharing this answer comes at a cost... are you really gonna tell the world you just spend weeks tapping a phone only to get punched in the face by a game and given the finger?
Insane is good in some context...to me a good insane is to have many ideas...a bad insane is to think it's sane to sit in a cubicle working an ants job until your boss tells you to fuck off. Peter's heart is in the right place, more than most developers I believe... but its been a very long time he hasnt brought some kind of dissapointment on his projects everyone wants him to succeed. What happened Fable 2 onwards has me kind of on the hate train. How did this man make that rubbish baffles me.
Why are people so outraged about him wanting to profit from his work. Free-to-play was never in the literal sense, there's always been monetisation, otherwise how else do people expect them to keep financing their games... it's ridiculous isn't it?
but im kinda curious whats inside the cube maybe a prize ? or maybe fable4 or maybe blackandwhite 3?? damn how much is this nonsense gonna cost me. this guy has a unbelievable tallent for screwing with people and stil he is able to let them buy his game DAMN YOU PETER

He's just trying to see how may people will pay to tap on a screen. He's testing the water for how much money he can make on 100 million people. He's not making games for people, he's making games for money and this is the problem with the games industry. The main issue is that all his games fault. Dungeon Keeper was the only thing that was a great game. Every other game was over hyped and broken promises and were abandon. It's not about games, its about profit. He's the embodiment of EA games.
