    Some of Bob’s best work was when he was with the Buddy Rich big band. His playing on that live album is amazing.

    I can do it except at age 83 much of my long breaths dont apply anymore .. so i have to take more breaths .. Hate it when the ending calls for a three bar note ending an i quit long before the others do in the sax section .. lungs just aint what they used to be..

    Hello! Could someone explain that system of minor thirds for ii V that he shows from minute 1:03 ? I am trying to learn this… thanks!

      Major triad, add 9 on top. The chords are first inversion major triads with the ninth on top (example, C add 9 in this case would be E G C D), same shape descending in minor thirds. Then resolve at the end of the pattern with a diminished scale line.
      So here, it would be Db Add 9, Bb Add 9, G add 9, and then going down the C H/W diminished scale from the b5.
