Bob Mintzer is such a fine conductor...Always do the best, with this fantastic ensemble, to put the guest upfront, in very good conditions. Props to the team who manages to capture the sound of such great big band!
Ha! Or, maybe "Aha" is more appropriate. Close - I did play "a lick," but I didn't play "THE LICK"! I played something like: F#, G, G#, A, F#, D, E at 2:01. "THE LICK" (in its definitive form) would have been: D, E, F, G, E, C, D ... or to "fit" this Dsus7 chord a little better: A, B, C, D, B, G, A (using an Amin7/D). I think you're hearing that both "my lick" and "THE LICK" land on the 9th of the chord - the note E. Thanks for checking it out, Noam! ;)
bland, lacking passion and dynamics, technically near perfect but without the slightest hint of joy or swing. Thus exemplifying everything wrong with jazz today.
Bob Mintzer is a musician's musician. An "A" list composer, arranger, and soloist. He does it all!
👍🎶

Klasse Performance. Leider ist der Percussion Sound viel laut im Mix. Schade für die Solisten.

Also can't help noticing something about the names, why no black guys?
must just be a co-incidence I'm sure.
Boring!!!!
