You can get other cats that have special abilities. It’s the wardrobe icon at the top. One of my favorites is the powersuit one seeing jellyfish no longer reduce your oxygen when caught. The triple harpoon gun or the 4 shot harpoon gun are so worth it once you have the powersuit seeing you can blast into large groups with no repercussions.

The electric bomb halved the fishes defense so you should use it on tough fish that take more than one shot. Also the closer the fish are the more damage you do so bait can be used.
Hey blitz did you know that if you use the bomb against other fish it weakens them so you can get them easier. I know this is true because I have caught a giant whale shark and used many bombs to take it down.

Have you try using your electric mine on the shelled fish or maybe a harpoon gun. Different guns means different ways of capturing fish.
Also I recommend the sniper harpoon because it locks on to the fish you are trying to catch.

Shocking the fish lowers their armor and makes them easier to catch! This works well on Big fish and the hermit crabs!!

you need to use the electro booms on the hermit crabs to nock them out so you can harpon them
I'm pretty sure catopia is a much later region, where you can actually find the whale shark
