The flashing fishing shows that they are the biggest among that type of fish if you catch them you will get a few parts and the highest value for that fish. The gears help to buy a new harpoon and upgrade them to stage 2 upgrades as well as get a new boat to travel to all the maps in the game.

Very chill game, if I remember correctly, the higher combo you have the more damage you do which makes it easier to harpoon fish. Additionally, I think the more fish you catch the slower your air goes down.
Using the harpoon actually takes air :P

As some one who has played this game I would like to impart some tips, for one, catching any type of fish will give a decent boost to the wave timer, also if you upgrade the default harpoon fully it becomes really good.

Another tip! When you continue by watching ads, The ads wont actually show uo until the end of the day! It's a nice thing about this game, it doesn't cut the action

Those aren’t premium points, those are parts, you can get them from the merchant and from the machine fish. Also the bomb lowers their defense while their frozen, so shoot them then!

I've been playing this game for a while now. Since DF covered it and I've been grinding in the glacial area for hours trying to get enough gears to upgrade my boat. Is there a better way to get the gears because this has been awful lol

The gears are not premium currency, you can get them from catching new fish (claim it in the book), gear fish, light bulb fish, and the trader cat.
