Movement is how Google detects bots too; the new captcha is far less about you "clicking the image with "X" and mostly how your mouse moves to click the panels - bots move in strict lines, whereas humans have more erratice, circular patterns (just observe how you move your own mouse)...
I bought a farming bot way back in WOTLK, I was banned within 12 hours of using it. I sat my 6 month ban and haven’t botted since. It amazes me that people get away with these bots for so long without getting banned.
ran into a holy priest bot around 2100mmr, it would run forward at the start of the match and the milisecond they were in combat the bot would plant and not move at all and just cast, was ez wins once we realized after the first round but holy shit the fact that this bot was able to make it to that mmr is wild
Man, I’m not surprised any of this is happening… I’m decent enough to hold my own and find success in Arena… but, this can seriously kill/discourage players who are actively trying to get better. Hell, this is discouraging for me, too… guess I’ll be fighting bots from here on out lol

There are tons of threads about the numbers, right now the participation is at all-time-low. The queue times are also not imaginary, they are very real. And how could anyone deny the fact that regular arena is basically dead? It literally was expected with the release of solo shuffle and no sane person can deny this simple fact. Having like 100 people playing is quite dead to me. What exactly would have to happen for to you see a dead game? 1 hour queue? 2? 3? No queue at all?

It's a shame Blizzard stopped caring about pvp several expansions ago. It just gets worse as time goes on, because people get more and more blatant knowing that they won't be punished in any meaningful way for ruining everybody else's experience.
Blizzard had a chance for wow pvp to be huge but they just hemorrhaged 90% of their pvpers to mobas instead of implementing good systems, really sad to see.
I will also express my opinion on the matter. Ven, not everyone has been playing the game for 20 years. I have been playing for 3 months. I play Devoker. I'm still learning how to use the mouse to move around. And I still use "AWSD" to move. But my mouse setting is 10, and I can turn 180 degrees in a second. I'm still getting used to it. I can't unlearn not moving with the keyboard. It seems unnatural to me to move with the mouse. I'm also still learning the positions, when and where to stand. Mosty of the time i stand still and do damage, and i move only when i'm attacked. I fly when i can. Just because someone doesn't move like a pro or advanced player doesn't make them a bot. i will never use a bot because i will never learn to play. The goal is to learn to play, not to accumulate a rating. I agree 100% that bots should be removed from the game completely.

Idk if Myst still has it, but here quite a few months ago, I was doing 3s with him and our buddy thunder. But we ran into a boomie bot and he had set patterns of everything and we were calling literally every single thing the bot was doing. I believe Myst was streaming at the time, but go ask him about the boomie bot from several months back, I'm sure he'll remember it. I even told them "watch, im gonna bolt and he's gonna auto meld" and it happened exactly like I said it would 😂 because he'd done it multiple times over

Bots can even fly dragonriding mounts now. My realm is full of them. Many players are using bots to farm or boosting low-level characters in Nokhundo Hold.

It's pretty bad currently. Although I am still subbed through the early part of december but I have refrained from playing due to this issue. When gearing up alts or different specs the BGs are laoded with them making it just not worth the time. I hope it gets fixed soon as I will not return to a mess like this.

It's funnier on healer bots... they just stay in the middle of the arena spamming their heal rotations, don't care about positions mates or whatsoever... if you want heal you have to come to them :D ... saw a priest one time like that when i was on my bm...but you know whats even funnier. Rocket league had this issue about 6 months ago - psyonix came out, openly stated theyll be perma banning every single one of these, and any and all discords/groups/youtube channels will be taken down as well if they dont stop leaking the software. Suddenly, botting stopped being an issue lol
The reality is bots pay there monthly sub as well, unless you unsub and blizz losses money it is not in there best interest to give a shit about bots. They would rather you just bitch about it, but continue to play the game, like you are.
Blizz’s employee turn over is damn high recently that you don’t even know who’s working on what anymore . I’m sure many projects were started and finished by someone else, etc. this happened with d4 and overwatch so not surprised if WoW has the same issue .

They have a main license with their main character and a 2nd, 3rd or even 4th license that they cheat on until they get banned. Achievements,mounts etc. carry over to the main one so it doesnt matter to them. The big problem is that they do not get perma banned and its mostly only one license that gets banned and not the entire account.
What do you get from botting an arena? I can see bgs, where there are enough people to carry. In an arena though, I can't imagine their win rate is very high.
I can see it being a lot more prevelant in solo rbg's honestly, there's not as much z-axis things to worry about, and classes like ele shaman can pretty much just be a turret in team fight

It's not that its too much work. It would just cost them money. 7,000 players x $15 a month = $105,000 a month they would lose if they banned those accounts.

This is why the Wrath Classic PvP is a huge joke.. I'm at a 2k rating right now in WTLK classic, and damn.. I've never seen so many botters and scripters.. instant kicks the split second you start casting, the AHK scripters, it's just getting out of hand.. it's nearly impossible to gain rating past a certain point when half the players are cheating...
Call of duty probably makes more than WoW. Also, those accounts are still paying monthly fees. So, the trade off is let them play and collect cash or maybe ppl quit because of botting but you don’t see Ven discontinuing his subscription, lol.

Bots have been a serious issue in Wrath of the Lich King battlegrounds as well, and Blizzard just won't take any action against them.

pvp greens, they lvl up in pvp and I guess you get to the minimum ilvl with it
