Good that I saw this :) My Mk4 Golf has the same tire wear... I should have some Audi TT bushes still somewhere, which I ordered but have been postponing installation for a few years. The TT ones are supposed to be stronger, can't remember precisely

Great video. I was able to do mine and not touch the axle bolt. I can't figure out why you did. Also on the front small cylindrical bushing I have heard that the internal hidden nut can spin of inside the subframe. Any trouble with those? Thanks for the great content

Thanks 😃, I had to remove the axle brackets to allow me the get the bolt out past the fuel tank (might be different on my estate?). Luckily I had no problems with the nuts spinning inside the subframe, although I have heard of it happening to people.

Did you have to raise the motor to get the drivers side a arm bolt out?

    • @LarcsWorkshop
      @LarcsWorkshop  11 หลายเดือนก่อน

No, I didn't need to remove it on mine.

I need to do these on my mk4 golf also but i am not brave enough to tackle it myself plus i don't have all the right tools or a workshop or a bench!!

Thank you for video bud. I have a question. Do you know if the seats from a Passat 2003 saloon would fit a Golf MK4 estate? I cloth interior seats on my estate golf MK4 and I wanted to change for a set of leathers. I believe the front seats will be straight up bolt on job but the rear bench is where I have my doubts as I know the hatchback bench of a MK4 golf is different from the estate version. Thanks

Thanks 😃. I don't know for sure, but I would have thought that the back seat would be wider in the Passat than the Golf? Good luck finding out 🤞.

I'd Start by soaking the threaded part of the bolt with good quality penetrating fluid, leave, soak, leave etc (normal WD40 isn't that good for this). Along side this, shock/hit the head of the bolt with a copper mallet. If this doesn't work you'll probably have to get some heat onto the nut end. Good luck getting it off🤞.
      Cheers Larcs 👍

😂🤣 last time I checked the conversion charts, 1FT = 1LM (Larcs/Meters)😂🤣. Does vary slightly on how many BBQ's I've been to 😜. Thanks for the great comments SteamyRotter👌.

If you mean the tube that I pulled the bush back in with? That was a part from my bearing fitting kit.

Good vid, how many miles on your golf? My mk5 has 135k, just done front wheel bearings - starting to wonder how much more maintenance I'm going to do on it before I treat myself to something newer!
Channels I watch (too many to list, haha) here's a few of my favourites:
    Exurb1a (philosophy)
    old shovel (fixing old bikes)
    Pask Makes (joinery)
    Captain Disillusion (Visual fx)
    Alec Steele (blacksmith)
    Dry Bar Comedy
    Anton Petrov (space science)
    Isaac Arthur (science and futurism)
    Charles Berthoud (bass)
    Chris Ramsey (magic)
    Lock Picking Lawyer
    Hybrid Calisthenics
    4wd 24/7 (aussie off roaders)
That ought to keep you going for a while!

Awesome thanks, there's a few there for me to look through 👌.
The golf has done about 165k and I've done about 70 of them. It's been pretty good with just the usual VW faults really 🤞.
      Cheers Larcs 👍

@@LarcsWorkshop Nice. I have a 1990 syncro T3 with 285k on the clock, and that takes most of my spare money, haha, the golf is just a runaround, supposedly to make running the T3 cheaper. As soon as it starts costing me more than it's worth I'm gonna have to let it go I think.
Anyway, keep up the good work 👍
