Tony's riffs all sound heavier than anybody but when Ozzy sings about War, death, destruction over them... it's perfection. Never bettered.

There is no way Bill Ward could have played on the last tour,the guy would have died on stage in the first show. The rest of the band did the right thing,Ward has a new band that announced a tour and the cancelled because of his health,the only Electric Funeral would have been for Bill Ward.

@@HighPower762 It’s Bill. This is from their first reunion with Ozzy in the 90’s, not the second time when they recorded 13 and did the final tour.
Saw this line up at ozzfest UK, Milton Keynes bowl, back in '99. Quite simply one of the best gigs I ever saw. Turned me into a Sabbath fan overnight.

I saw Sabbath on this tour in Jan 1999 at Bank One Ballpark in Phoenix, AZ, with Soulfly, Megadeth, Pantera and Slayer opening - the show was called New Year's Evil. It was fucking awesome!

The fact that these guys recorded this before heavy/doom metal really became a thing is really quite mind blowing. Bad ass dudes for even being able to conceive something so heavy and encapsulating. Black Sabbath...my heroes for ever!

I feel like Tony Iommi doesn't get the credit he really deserves. When most people talk about the greatest guitarists ever, they usually bring up guys like Jimi Hendrix, Eric Clapton, Stevie Ray Vaughan, Eddie Van Halen, etc. but it's fairly rare for Tony to end up on those lists - it's criminal.
Tony manages to create some of the hardest hitting riffs in all of rock and roll/Heavy metal without needing to make them complicated. He does A LOT with very few notes. There is beauty in the brevity of his riffs, he achieves so much! To me, this shows that Tony is a master.
I like his solos too. Personal.
