If i had to guess, I think it's because the 90s were THE decade that video games took off like crazy.. Think about it.. The 90s saw video games evolve from 8-bit, to 16-bit, even 32-bit, and then to 3D polygon graphics! And not to mention the Game Boy color was fascinating and the colors that came in, as well as the N64.. We even saw the Virtual Boy (as awesome it seemed on paper, it was awful in application).. Putting it simply, the 90s were a time of awe and wonder for video games, and that must be why a lot of us are still drawn to the gaming tech that came about during that particular decade. I know I was so fascinated, deep down I wondered what gaming tech would be conceived next.
Childhood me is kicking and screaming for that setup. That Gameboy printer went hard. I actually had that clear purple Gameboy color. Donkey Kong on that thing on long car rides kept my parents sane. Headphones in though so I could hear and they couldn't. Those accessories are legendary. Jealous
Ah yes I remember buying an accessory kit at Ross back in 2000s... it had that battery pack, buttons, swirl light, magnifying glass screen... Not sure if I still have it somewhere but still have the Game Boy Color...
I was so young when all this was out so i never knew this was a thing! Bless my soul. Only thing i ever had was the light so i could play at night🤣 brings so many memories though.
