      Latham is really good. A lot of people had him ahead of Alt. Are the Titans stacked at OT and have huge needs elsewhere?

  • @theresaherman

    Old guy here. Let’s face it, the draft is really a somewhat educated crapshoot, a SWAG(Scientific Wild Ass Guess). It’s pretty much a pick of potential.
    So if a team is really high on a certain player and know he won’t be available when they draft again, then they will choose that guy regardless of where he was projected to be drafted. I like both avenues, need and BPA. I believe it’s a tricky combo of both strategies, but that’s just my opinion.
    Thanks Jackson for breaking these down.

      Rams offense is not incredibly predictable. Maybe early on because mcvay didn’t trust Kyren at first cause he expected cam Akers to be the ball carrier but no rams offense is not predictable. Mcvay just is hesitant on rookies. Like tutu in first season he didn’t use him once as a WR only a returner which tutu never played that position. He was only forced with puka and Kyren last year because of injuries.

    Latham as the second worst pick on the draft is absolutely fucking insane dude 😂 a consensus top 10-15 pick and he went 7. The only pick was him and Odunze and both were borderline top 10’s.

    The Packers are the best at developing elite offensive linemen. So honestly almost any pick along the o-line is a win. Even Royce Newman has had some good games and he is by far their worst lineman

    I mean punting for the Bears, was a major issue, and at the board, we really needed an edge which we got (via a trade up) but punting was the worst part of our team, we ranked 32nd in the league in terms of punting and Taylor is one if not the best punter in the entire draft

    After the 2022 season in which he had a season ending injury that cut short an extremely successful season this happened: "Corum said, “I have unfinished business. I didn't like the way I went out in the Big House. I don't like people remembering me being hurt. And so I will be coming back for it all next year." And boy did he ever. 1,200 yards and 27 touchdowns, helping his team win a national championship. How can you not like that?

  • @wpl8275
    @wpl8275 13 วันที่ผ่านมา +1

    To me when you talk worst picks it's picking a player without any real talent. Wherever that is in the draft. If he can't make your team then don't pick him. Picking a player with talent higher than where pundits thought they should go is not a bad pick or the "worst" pick.

  • @Duhcha
    @Duhcha 15 วันที่ผ่านมา +1

    if you didn't want Penix to start right away you could have ran with Heinicke or Ridder and used the money you saved to sign free agents, signed Rome or a IDL with that 8th pick and now you are building a team, and it feels good for everyone. Fans, players, ownership has hope. Everyone is just confused and now the Falcons either take a dead cap hit or start Penix when he is 27 or 28 for the first time in the NFL.

    • @petercofrancesco9812
      @petercofrancesco9812 15 วันที่ผ่านมา

      More importantly they're undermining Cousins. The first off game he has the fans will be clamoring for Penix. Anything but a Super Bowl the fans will want Penix. Hard enough being a QB let alone having to look over your shoulder wondering when they're going to pull you for the rookie.

  • @Justin_Watson23
    @Justin_Watson23 15 วันที่ผ่านมา

    I think sitting as a young QB is the best thing they can do. You see the game different from the sideline & really have an opportunity to understand how the peices fit together within a certain scheme. A high level understanding of scheme/pro coverages through experience allows QB's to use their physical gifts that got them drafted high in the first place when finally called on (& if pride doesn't prevent you from learning ie Kenny Pickett).
    Even someone like Mason Rudolph was significantly better after sitting a few years (possibly unjustifiably the last 2) than he was replacing Roethlisberger after a season ending injury in 2019. If Levis was to struggle in TEN, I could see Rudolph being solid for them. A good back-up.

    I congratulate you for all those breakdown you make, it's a lot of work and you do a good job, however let me put the Packers pick in perspective. Jordan Morgan had a very good season in 2022, tore his ACL, still came back and played a good 2023 season. You can see that he wasn't fully himself but still got better every week. Then the reason why he was drafted so high was his performance at the Senior Bowl, where he had a very good performance, he was coveted by many teams because of it.
    You can only go by the tape as a youtuber but these teams put a lot of stock in context and seeing these guys live where they can coach them on the spot and see how they react. I have no doubt Morgan is going to be good, will he be worth the 25 pick? TBD.

    Rams pick on Corum makes a lot of sense. Rams use a lot of running in the red zone and Corum scored a lot in go to goal situations. He is built similar body tone of Kyren and Kyren did have a couple injuries last year. Rams don’t have a reliable RB2. Ronnie rivers isn’t a head forward type guy. He is more of a run blocker/screen/check down RB that has good hands. Rams were 100% going pick a RB in 3rd round and didn’t have a pick until middle 5th.
    Makes sense for them. And they already made a lot of free agent pieces for oline and DBs. They had way too many picks too.

  • @jasonelder2296

    The only issue with the Penix pick is that the Falcons paid too much for Cousins. Less money and/or shorter term for Cousins, and this is not an issue. There were cheaper QBs available that could have got Falcons over the hump.

    Latham wasn't a bad pick. JC Latham was Bill Callahan's favorite tackle in the draft, and the Titans needed a left tackle to protect Will Levis. What's the point of having a receiver as good as Odunze if his QB never has time to get him the ball or is unavailable because of injury?

    "The Green Bay" method is total BS and a rewriting of history. Now I'm a Packers fan and love having Love as my QB now. However it is completely false that the whole situation with Love was this smooth succession that went exactly as planned. No, instead it's a series of panic moves brought on by human flaws. If Rodgers wasn't a gigantic weirdo and GM Gutekunst wasn't a special boy with easily hurt feelings, then Rodgers would still be in GB and Love would probably be Dak's back up instead of Trey Lance.
    Gute panicked when an aging Rodgers had a slight dip in production and drafted Love. Then Rodgers has back to back MVP seasons and Gute again panics and re-signs Rodgers to the then highest contract in NFL history, one that crippled GB's cap until this current off season (this is the most damning evidence right here, re signing A-Rod to a huge multi year, cap crippling contract AFTER drafting Love). Finally Gutekunts got his feelings hurt by Rodgers attitude issues and things he was saying on McCaffey's show (other GMs gave him crap at the owners meeting that year) and in passive/aggressive anger he traded Rodgers.
    This isn't a "method," it's comedy of errors.
